81  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin prices after 25 october on: October 16, 2017, 09:22:41 PM
Actually I'm pretty sure there's a lot of people which just entered the market and don't know what they're doing at all. The Bitcoin gold have made the news and people are trying to get free money without understanding the technology or the market behavior at all. For this reason I'm pretty sure it will crash just after the Bitcoin gold hard fork. Everybody will try to sell there BTG and a currency where there's more sellers then buyers have a low value. For my part, I'll sell just before the fork and buy back when it drops.

This has always been the case. Markets will comprise a mix of newbies and old hands. Greed brings in a lot of people, but they might burn their fingers if they get in during a frenzy like this.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: October 16, 2017, 09:16:30 PM
The second one-day match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka is going to play today. In the first match, Pakistan won the match by a big margin of 83 runs which actually give them more confidence play in this second match against SL. But SL needs to do something to get back their form otherwise they may slowly become worst than new teams. Mostly Pakistan may win this match as well but Pakistan performance is most unpredictable.
Pakistan's performance in batting was not good but still they done reasnable job and reach 219 with the help of Baber and Shadab now bowling start good as Junaid remove important Dickwella very early now I am expecting a good and balance match which could be not one sided because both need win this match

Sri Lanka crumbled to 187 all out, although the total wasn't that imposing. Sri Lanka seems to be absolutely incapable of competing in ODIs. It is a shame that they have qualified for the World Cup and not West Indies.
83  Economy / Speculation / Re: The path to 1M, Gov's forced to adopt BTC to prove soverign risk on: October 15, 2017, 08:45:05 PM
At some point nations will have to prove their reserves and credit worth via BTC held, and so attract investment capital in FIAT or whatever.

Why? because the credit risk of a country with BTC will be much much lower and more transparent than any alternative.

Do you realize how delusional your statement is?

Yeah maybe in 10 - 20 years from now, but not any time soon.

10 years is not a long time away. If ever governments start holding bitcoins, the price will really go to the moon. Institutional investors are nothing compared to what sovereign wealth funds can do to the price.
84  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin the new gold on: October 15, 2017, 08:42:18 PM
Everything which is precious and important to us we can say it gold or diamond. As in the context of bitcoin it is also valuable currency and it is famous all over the world. So it can be said that it is the new gold. As we see that gold is accepted everywhere and it can be kept as mortgage in banks the same can be said for bitcoin it can be easily transferred into every currency.

Bitcoin can be easily transferred into every currency? Not really. When you are dealing with fiat currencies, you deal with banks who are the gatekeepers of the government. Try converting your bitcoins into Iranian or North Korean currency, and you will immediately have a swarm of government officials over you.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC or BCC or BTG on: October 15, 2017, 05:43:11 PM
definately bitcoin Smiley
i have no explaination of your why..bt i can say bcc or btg or other next coming child of btc will not be like btc bcz btc is the king

Please read my post again

i ask we all see BTC effect why need to make BCC and BTG

"We" didn't create BCH or BTG. There are others who chose to create them and they have every right to do so, given Bitcoin's open-source nature. They have given you free coins too. Every time a fork occurs, just swap the free coin back to BTC.
86  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank of Lithuania Discourages Financial Institutions From Dealing w Virtual Curr on: October 15, 2017, 05:30:26 PM
The banks in Europe are all integrated. They have a common currency. I doubt if the Bank of Lithuania's pronouncement are going to make any difference to the banks. They would have their standard controls in place to prevent money laundering through virtual currencies.
87  Economy / Speculation / Re: SELL Bitcoin? Massive Resistance Rejected! on: October 15, 2017, 05:20:33 PM
Technical analysis might not be able to correctly foresee the effect of demand in different nations, the constant supply of additional bitcoins through mining etc. We all saw what China's actions against crypto exchanges did to the price. If this was reversed, then the price of Bitcoin will again take off.
88  Economy / Economics / Re: TIL Bitcoin is NOT open source software on: October 15, 2017, 05:15:18 PM
The millions of alts out there, the forks which are being created every month, this is proof about Bitcoin being open source software. People are free to modify it as they choose. Right from Litecoin, most alts are cheap rip offs of Bitcoin. The ones which carry 'Bitcoin' in their name are no different.
89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: October 15, 2017, 05:08:19 PM
Though Bangladesh scored potential 278 but now it looks like South Africa will easily chase.Because they are just 79 runs behind from the winning line.De kock made another wonderful century.Bangladeshi bowlers couldn't take a single wicket of SA until now. That's not expected by anybody I think, this match is one sided now.

It was a record-breaking chase for South Africa. No other South African team has chased down such a total and won by 10 wickets. Both de Kock and Amla scored centuries. Bangladesh has run up against a very strong South African team.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: October 14, 2017, 03:33:49 PM
There is an interesting twist to the Sri Lanka - Pakistan series. The Sri Lankan players have signed a letter stating that they are not comfortable to travel to Lahore for the T20 match. This is understandable, considering that their team bus was attacked by terrorists previously. You can't expect a team to perform if it constantly is thinking about security. The Sri Lankan board should take this into account.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BItcoin Dump in 3,2,1... on: October 14, 2017, 03:28:04 PM
My beloved altcoins beginning to rise again... everlasting glory to cryptomarket!

Although the bullish trend has slow down and it seems to be reversing, but i think $6K is a figure that will most likely resist the trend and once BTG is distributed, guess BTC will hang within $5k and that would be our new support level  Grin

Reversing? It crossed $5000 a couple of days back and is hovering around $5500. I wouldn't call this a a trend reversal. Bitcoin gold is actually irrelevant to Bitcoin's price. We are just waiting before Bitcoin really takes off.
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I've just been hacked!! :-( on: October 14, 2017, 03:23:30 PM
Everything I've done has always been on Blockchain.info. I've never bought anything with BIT, only saving it over the last months.

I've contacted them and given the details. Fingers crossed they can do something...but I doubt it.

Is there a way to contact the owner of a wallet?
This is where it ended up: 1Pbs1z5rK4vUWLtjTkK1vxksWHyswTndzj
Can I contact them somehow?

Thanks for your help!

If indeed that is the bitcoin address of the hacker, how would contacting him help? Bitcoin addresses are pesudonymous and it is not easy to link an address to a real world identity. I would suggest forgetting your loss and trying to move on. Crying over split milk doesn't help anybody.
93  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto winter is coming again … on: October 14, 2017, 03:18:43 PM
It is very much possible that a crypto winter is coming. The signs are very much there. Massive hype, A five fold increase in price in a matter of months. Governments either welcoming Bitcoin or baying for its blood. But if a winter does come, it won't last for ever. And I will hold until the next crypto boom happens.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: with bitcoin can I get an island? on: October 11, 2017, 09:02:42 PM

are governments really accepting? thank you for answering  Smiley
I think government is not accepting bitcoin as a payment if you want to buy an island because they don't recognize bitcoin as a legal currency and it depends on the country if they have a law about banning bitcoins but if you have a lot of bitcoin you can exchange in to real money then go buy the island that you want.

You don't have to buy the island from the government. And after all Bitcoin is readily exchangeable for fiat. So a person who holds bitcoins should have no problems in realizing its value.
95  Economy / Economics / Re: Vanuatu, world’s first county to accept bitcoin for its citizenship program on: October 11, 2017, 08:57:02 PM
The Pacific island nation of Vanuatu has become the world’s first county to accept the virtual currency bitcoin for its citizenship program.

The Vanuatu Information Centre (VIC) announced that its Development Support Program (DSP) will allow foreigners to qualify for Vanuatuan citizenship through a one-time payment of $200,000 or currently 44 Bitcoins.

Quote
Vanuatu is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations and citizenship allows visa-free travel to 113 countries, including EU states, Russia and the United Kingdom.

Vanuatu also advertises its low taxes for citizenship buyers, offering a second passport in a country that levies no capital gains or income taxes. Potential citizens don't need to live in Vanuatu, or even visit the country once.

“Many early investors in bitcoin would like to realize some of their earnings without incurring large capital gains taxes. Ideally, then, they would convert their cryptocurrency into tangible assets in a low-tax jurisdiction… As Vanuatu will now be the only country to offer citizenship for bitcoins, I think the program will see a surge in interest more or less immediately.”

http://www.newsweek.com/bitcoin-now-buys-you-citizenship-pacific-nation-vanuatu-680443

I've heard that there are many island-nations selling citizenship for money. Glad that one is already accepting bitcoins. I wonder how they plan to use the bitcoins though.

Any benefits to becoming a citizen of this country? It's not really a big country to begin with. Tax loopholes?

There are benefits. It is a member of the Commonwealth (not that it amounts to much). With a Vanuatu passport, you can travel visa free to 113 countries. Definitely beats having a developing country passport.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will BTG be similar to BCH in terms of price speculation? on: October 11, 2017, 08:54:18 PM

I personally think they'll be pretty much the same. What are your thoughts?

Nope. BCH was controversial, but it was a clean fork. There was no premine, no false information being spread. There was clear replay protection. Bitgold seems to be nothing but a scam.
97  Economy / Speculation / Re: Panic sellers got flushed fast on: October 08, 2017, 07:50:34 PM
I feel bad for all the noobs that panic selled at the controlled dump of the other day with the china ban news. Its obvious whales wanted to get more cheap btc and shaked all the idiots out with panic, now we are back to 700+ and looking strong. Hold.

Well that's what happen when the weak hands heard some rumors ,
They couldn't really control their emotion and let's it drive them down.
But I like them, if the market has not some noob traders or traders can not keep calm as them, I will have many troubles to make money from trade cryptocurrency. Of course, they will be loser and their money will trasnfer to others.

As the saying goes, a fool and his money are soon parted. Somebody who doesn't have the stomach to hold Bitcoin through the ups and downs will sell it and make losses. The others who are true believers will see their portfolio appreciate.
98  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do so many people wait for "bitcoin to crash" to buy some, and miss out on: October 08, 2017, 07:08:00 PM
Bitcoin has had quite a turbulent history and it is not unimaginable that it could crash again. If you did buy now and there was a crash, however temporary, then you have basically thrown away money. The current price is close to the all time high and it is amazing that it has held for so long. When there was bad news out of China a single bitcoin lost over a thousand dollars in worth - it's all about timing.

It depends on your strategy. If you buy before a crash, you are not throwing away money. You have paper losses, not actual losses.
If you plan to hold for the long term, it really doesn't matter.
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for Taxi on: October 08, 2017, 07:04:17 PM
It does seem like some companies are grabbing the opportunity. An Indian company already accepts Bitcoin and it is also planning an ICO.

100  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin trading is not a zero sum game on: October 08, 2017, 06:34:19 PM
No, it is not a zero sum game. In that sense, if we have a crash in its price, we could have a negative sum game too.
There could be people buying at the peak and losing all their money. Miners who make losses because the value of bitcoins they mine is insufficient to cover their costs...
