82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XLM] Stellar - Decentralized trading platform on: July 03, 2017, 11:58:55 PM
FYI, Polo was listed as participating on Stellar's airdrop page. Then AFTER the airdrop they claimed they never agreed to participate. Some of us spent an awful lot of time and lost out on hundreds of dollars worth from loans and in fees moving funds and so on, to get our BTC to Polo for the airdrop.

ZenFr, be sure to raise a support ticket with Polo and keep pushing the issue so they can't just wish it away. Even if Stellar is basically at fault Polo did us a disservice by ignoring the fact that they were very publicly listed for months on the Stellar page and didn't bother challenging it until after everything sent their money in to them.

I've suggested on Reddit that Polo should create an API setting that allows a 3rd party you share an API key with to see your account holdings over time (but no other information/rights). That way Stellar could directly send STR to those of us with claims, and in the future any other airdrops could use this API without needing to bother Polo staff with support requests for their airdrops. So I'm hopeful they will see the value in that idea.

Thanks for your efforts ebliever!  I wish there would be an official update on this, including why Stellar thought Poloniex had agreed to support the airdrop.

Did anyone with some BTCs at Poloniex already get their share of free Lumens? I didn't.

I think a lot did it same as me. I am still hoping Poloniex will claim it and distribute to btc holders.

It would be nice if there was an update somewhere.

I have not seen anything other than the twitter post linked on the claims page.  It would help if the Stellar people would just post WHY they thought Poloniex was participating and so included them on their blog list as participating, then at least I could be just mad at Polo.

Please note, if your bitcoins are with coinbase you won’t be able to claim your lumens.
why?

It says that in the blog post, presumably because coinbase controls your private keys, you don't.  But if you can sign a message from your coinbase address it might work.  Good Luck.

i must be missing something
so i got my free lumens here by signing a message with my btc addresses.. no problem.
now here's my problem
now i have an account id and a private key pair where all my credited lumens are residing

... no clue how to access/send the funds to exchange or import private key

WTF?? and i thought i was good at this. i'm completely stumped. searched around no instructions . can anyone help?link?
im sure its something simple..but i sure as hell can't figure it out. i d/l the stargazer wallet...totally useless to import the priv key

I used this to transfer to exchange after claiming the lumens https://www.stellar.org/account-viewer/

Awesome suggestion MissCrypto!  I downloaded the official client and it worked just fine as well, but that the account viewer is much easier.

Looks like the free coins are starting to hit. Down 47 sats in 1 second flat.

Yep, two months of people collecting their lumens.  Hopefully, it will spur much more adoption and use in the long term.  Stellar has a lot of promise, but I would not expect any big price rise until after 27 Aug.

Poloniex says that they never agreed to participate in the giveaway. That's quite shitty as I'm sure many people deposited bitcoin or refrained from withdrawing with the understanding that Poloniex would participate, now those people will be unable to use that bitcoin to claim Lumens.

The question is, will Poloniex claim the Lumens or will it just go to the organization? This mistake may lead to the organization earning a significantly larger share of the giveaway, maybe it wasn't such an accident? Maybe Poloniex or the Stellar Organization will find a way to reconcile this?

Thanks for this, especially the twitter link.  That really sucks but maybe they will figure out they can still GET the Stellar for the giveaway and then distribute it, but I imagine that would require them having a snapshot of all their user balances at that time.

Hopefully someone from Stellar will post and explain this budding debacle for those of us silly enough to believe their blog!  Huh

Their blog now says the official snapshot has been taken.

Let's hope that support rep was just misinformed on poloniex, they are pretty swamped there.

Not surprised price is crashing, if millions more lumens get distributed have to expect a short run price drop.  Hopefully, it will enhance the long term value proposition of the coin.

I remember 1% will be given to the first 100 million wallets.
Are you sure ?
Where have you read that ?

It's at the end of the first post in this thread.

One last thing.  The remaining 1% will be given away to the first 100m users who install Byteball wallet, 100 Kbytes to each user.  This will start 6 months from now or later, after we get ready for that scale.

Fair Initial Distribution???
I found this offer for free byteball crypto's (i.e. Blackbytes) suspect. I wondered how the price for this crypto could be around the $700 mark, when there are other crypto's with just as good, if not better, technology behind this. I wondered if the input of sending your bitcoins for Blackbytes was just pumping up the price?

I'm here even more concerned in that for sending around $3.50 USD worth of my Bitcoins, plus the $1.50 mining fee, that I got a message back saying that they are seeing that I own Zero bitcoins, which means no free Blackbytes for me and I've just lost $5+ USD. This then offers a web page to look at the reason why it is showing zero bitcoins, of which helps little. I've got 2 bitcoins in my wallet, not zero bitcoins. There is no message for to help you otherwise and this lends to the potential further loss of leading to getting you to have another attempt - no thanks.  I've sent an email requesting help on this, but to date have not gotten a reply. As far as I'm concerned this marketing ploy is a pump on the price of this crypto and I've been ripped off i.e. this is a scam. I'd be interested to hear from others regarding if they have had the same thing happen to them?

Hi Ted.  The issue you have, is, I believe, related to how bitcoin works.  You had your two BTC in your wallet's address and, as instructed, sent a small amount to verify your ownership of the address as instructed.  However, due to the way bitcoin works, your bitcoin, less what you sent and the fee, got moved to a "change" address in your wallet.  So you still have your BTC but it's not showing for byteballs because it's no longer in the linked address.  You need to send your bitcoins BACK to the address you originally linked.

You are wise to be cautious with crypto, there are lots of scams, so far, this has not proven to be one of them, but there is always a possibility.

The price appears so high because there will only ever be 1,000,000 Gbyte which is what is traded on the exchanges.

I hope this answers your questions, good luck.

I really wonder if people inform themself about a coin or project before they post here  Huh I always read such questions again and agin, which are so simple to research that the research would cost less time than to post the question on the thread. This is getting really annoying.

how to mining this coin with GPU RX470

There is no mining with byteball only DAG.

It's all about the signature campaigns.

However, a FAQ on the website would be really helpful.  Things like the bot is down for a few days after the airdrop, it takes a day or so to get your byteballs, a few more days to get your blackbyteballs, the next round is XX and you'll get XX, and the only place to trade blackbytes is p2p are questions that repeat and a FAQ could easily address.
