Add "9"s to your seed to get 81+ chars. yep ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) it works now with adding the "9"s thanks for quick help

hi ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) without being participant of the ICO I can (and did already) easily follow steps 1-8, IRI 0.9.0 is up and running, but now with step 9, from where do I get the seed to enter into nostalgia.html? I assume only ICO participants have that seed? cheers write down a long (30+ chars) random sequence containing lowercase latin letters and the number "9". This is your seed. Keep it secret, keep it save. thanks, this works... ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ...until step 13, but no IOTA show up after refresh. A lot of things happen in the terminal what I do not understand. But no errors ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Could someone send 1 or 2 IOTA to my generated address? 1. Download latest JRE 2. Download IRI 3. Unzip IRI 4. Go to the unzipped folder and edit file 'configuration.iri', remove the last line, and save it 5. Open terminal inside the unzipped folder (hold shift down, press right mouse button->open terminal - for windows OS) 6. Check java version: "java -version" (add JRE to system path if needed) 7. Run: "java -jar IRI.jar" 8. Open "nostalgia.html" 9. Enter seed 10. Press Claim IOTAs 11. click OK to the first popup -> Wait for 2nd popup 'packet received' -> OK 12. Wait 10 minutes 13. Click button 'refresh page' (TIP: not the browser button or F5) 14. Check your IOTAs IT'S WORKING!!!! Good work @CfB ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) PS: Anyone can add if I forgotten something. EDIT #1: added step#4 as a separate step (previously it was inside step#9) hi ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) without being participant of the ICO I can (and did already) easily follow steps 1-8, IRI 0.9.0 is up and running, but now with step 9, from where do I get the seed to enter into nostalgia.html? at least it is obvious, first the coin was hyped with anon-features to a certain price level, then algo was improved to make the coin more profitable for mining. Miners take profits and causing the sell pressure now. It is all a bit shady, especially when you ask yourself who profits from the recent tech updates. But I blame nobody. If this coin has a future? Time will tell after several rounds of halving. Until then I have no significant hope for an upward price movement. (sorry when I appear to be a troll but I am not, just a bit disentchanted)

Hi, two questions: - can the bootstrap from OP be used for the update procedure? - the database fix tool for Win is not needed anymore? cheers
|
|

on the OP it says wallet v1.4.0.2
when I download the wallet it's v1.4.0.0
where can I find v1.4.0.2?
yes, same to me. downloaded wallet from OP and it says v1.4.0.0 -> where to get the v1.4.0.2? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif)

Wow, thank you guys for the hard work and constant development. Being proud sailing with that ship as a stakeholder ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) The goal of that journey gets more and more shape: discover and claim new territory of the cryptoplanet ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

It will be wonderfull, if somebody make browser's plugins for vpncoin. It will be much easy use it for most people.
Chrome plugins? Yes, Chrome, Firefox, Safari and maybe Edge. oh yes, I agree ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) if possible that might be a great feature

Thank you devs for the good work and constant development of that project. By this the value of RADS increases more and more, price on exchanges osscillates that is natural, but in the long term market cap can only be much higher. It is definitely worth to own RADS ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Hey Dev. Just one question, a bit off-topic...how do we should call 0.00000001XVG? I think this coin should not call it satohis! We are building our own road...so we should call it...? 1 Vergioshi? ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Vergin (s) Side note: We had the url to Verge on coinmarketcap shortened by an anonymous user this morning after the run up. Anyone can use this and anyone can see the click stats as well. * http://fya.cc/verge links to long url: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/verge/* http://fya.cc/verge+ links to stats page & qr code haha yes, Vergin is cool ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

hi guys, as I know coins are stored in the blockchain, the wallet.dat keeps private and public key to your coins. -> general question: by using the web wallet, where exactly are private and public key stored? i2P web wallet provides most possible privacy, is it also more "unhackable" than the web wallet of the clearnet? And the TOR web wallet? cheers

who the heck is buying xmr and dash on trex but forgetting about VERGE? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) haven't these buyers heard about VERGE? Or what makes them ignoring verge?

We need visual comparison between the "so called" leaders of anonymity. Like an infographic or something. Let's spell it out - obviously it needs to be done those who do not understand know no better. Lets educate the wider Crypto Community. I agree with this. Even though DEV and some others who are active here understand what i2p is, most people don't. People hear i2p tossed around and they don't truly understand why or how it could possibly be more anonymous than TOR. Furthermore, when people hear that Anoncoin is on the i2p network they don't understand how Verge could possibly be more anonymous. I don't think people want to accept at face value that Verge is truly anonymous; they want to understand WHY it is a truly anonymous coin. This is something that could be illustrated in some kind of diagram or chart. I also agree. maybe we need to explain to people why their anonymous coin is actually not anonymous. ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) and they have been sold a lie. FWIW: Monero is working on I2P integration on the protocol level too: https://github.com/monero-project/kovrihttp://podbay.fm/show/1032156854/e/1451151298?autostart=1https://getmonero.org/design-goals/They are working on it. But have a look at XMR price, is that justified, when Verge already is anonymous. this proofs that VERGE is on the right track and concerning the technology in a leading position. imo this means that XVG price inevitable is going to rise - at the latest when new users come in, because who wants to pay expensive prices for anon coins when you can get the Mercedes of anon with a big discount? ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

I have a noobie question.
That isn´t a hate question as quasikurdos shit...
Why go the volume down? From 200 to 59 on bitrex?
I´m one year here and the only coins i´m investing are PND and DOGED/VERGE
I think it may be the weekend, even eth volume went down a lot I can tell you that I'm holding for the long term. Plus BTC is on the raise. I am also in for the long run. The smart and talented dev gives the coin absolute fundamental value. (not to speak about the impressive features this coin has ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) )

What you need to understand about volume settling down is that it means the price is settling a bit. This is not necessarily a bad thing? We are up 4-5X where we were two weeks ago. If the prices just pumps hard for too long a crash is inevitable. Don't forget that volume goes up when there are lots of buys but volume goes up when there are lots of dumps too. What we want are surges as more money comes in and then for the prices to settle back down a bit. When it does try and ride the waves and increase your holdings. Until the next big move up. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) this sounds simple when reading it. but how to detect that the next big move is about to start? ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

Hi, I was still on 1.3.8 and downloaded 1.4.4.4 from OP. When I start qt.exe I get a runaway exception with the error message:"Fatal error has occured..." Exception: NSt8ios_base7failureE CDataStream::read() : end of data C:\Users\... This happens to standard wallet and to Gaming wallet. What is wrong? How can I solve this? Can someone help?
You cant just run 1.4.4.4 on 1.3.8 Blockchain Files. v1.4xxx is a total upgrade from old bitcoin core so you need to Download the Blockchain from Scratch. First backup your wallet.dat, then download the boostrap archive in OP, then delete everything in GenesysCoin folder in roaming even your Wallet.dat but make sure you backed it up first. then copy and unpack the boostrap.dat firl there, and then re-launch v1.4.4.4 qt.exe - It will import the blockchain from the boostrap instead of download it from the network which could take a lot of time. When you are full synced, you can delete the newly created "wallet.dat" and replace it with your Current wallet.dat from backup. I did as you described and everything goes smoothly and fine. Having already staked ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Thanks a lot for assistence. P.S. When reading your guidance I remembered reading it some pages before in this thread. I was too busy with work and girlfriend at that time to do it. P.S.S. keep up the good work ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
