Applications are now closed. Thanks for applying. I will be in touch with people who got accepted soon.
82  Economy / Reputation / Re: Strange behaviour of too many alts at once. on: August 18, 2023, 03:58:31 PM
Curious what others think.

I'd definitely say red is warranted.

People using alt accounts is imo one of the most annoying things on the forum. I'm worried about cases where it's not so clear as here.
83  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] l0tt0.com - Signature Campaign | Sr. Members+ | Up to $150 weekly on: August 18, 2023, 03:35:44 PM
In light of updated pay rates, applications are temporarily open for Sr. Members and up. Please see updated application format in the OP.

85  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] l0tt0.com - Signature Campaign | Sr. Members+ | Up to $4 per post on: August 15, 2023, 10:13:50 AM
The signature campaign has been marked as CFNP as we are changing the format. We will be moving to weekly payments with an added bonus and we will be testing out invite-only campaign where we do not take applications but invite users who we think would be a good fit for the campaign.

Previous applications are still valid and it is possible I will still be in touch with some of you who have applied.

It was a real pleasure to be a part of l0tt0 campaign, but I decided to accept invitation from different campaign.
Best wishes to BoXXoB and l0tt0 team, thank you for 8 great weeks!

Thanks for participating.

The dude lack the understanding of my comment and I don't know how he was selected in the campaign. And since he could not understand grammar in the forum I ask the grammarian  Grin The Sceptical Chymist to explain grammars to him. Well, @EarnOnVictor don't take it personal. We all make mistakes. English is not our language.

I think the problem is not reading your post carefully. As far as their post quality goes, I don't have big complaints. I wish that people, in general, took more time to think before saying things.

Anyway, let's keep this thread on-topic.

Payments for Round 7 have been sent

As soon as the new version of l0tt0.com goes live, we will likely start adding more participants. Keep an eye out for updates here.
While waiting for the new version of the l0tt0 software why can't you CFNP the campaign so that applications will not litter the thread and I don't know when the software is updated and for you to select new participants, you will select from the first day applications to date or new applications will be asked to drop again because initially, this campaign needed five participants or there about and the number has not been completed when you asked interested participants to apply. So I am just suggesting that the campaign should be close and open it back when the software is updated. Thanks.

Valid point. I did not expect the downtime to extend this long. I will consider making it CFNP if it takes much longer.

EDIT: PS. Let's keep it civil. @EarnOnVictor I don't think such a harsh response was warranted. I don't think the Agbe meant anything bad.

Do I really need to post examples why I think microsoft is bad in this topic?

Again, you're practically stating a company that does bad things cannot innovate despite of that fact. I am not defending Microsoft here, I am simply stating there are some areas where they have done well.

Your personal opinion of Microsoft does not change the fact that while passwordless login may not be a perfect solution, it can be a very effective one for a ton of use cases. However, I agree with you that relying on E-mail solely may end up being bad due to E-mail delivery issues and what not.

But please, it is not constructive to resort to ultimatums like you do with Microsoft. Instead, accept the fact that usually nothing is ever so bad that there isn't a shred of good in it.

Lets get back on l0tt0 topic.
One more day left for website new launch Cool

Agreed. Excited about that! Looking forward to finally having the site open for players again.
91  Economy / Gambling / Re: l0tt0.com on: July 24, 2023, 05:41:58 PM
Microsoft is not a good example for anything and passwordless login is not good for everything, but people using same passwords many times is a human error problem.

Simply stating Microsoft is not a good example for anything without further expanding on your point makes that a fairly poor argument.

Yes, Microsoft has its issues and there was some pretty big cyber-security related incident with them recently. Windows is also not the pinnacle of security. We all or most of us probably know this.

However, it's not very well-thought to bash Microsoft in entirety due to this. Microsoft Authenticator is pretty good. For example, to fight phishing, when logging into their services they display a number on the screen that you need to type into the authenticator. That is an awesome feature and makes logging in super secure from phishing standing point.

It's convenient you mention human error because that is literally the biggest cyber-security threat there is. That's what we need to be fighting when it comes to day-to-day tasks such as logging in to services. Other things are pretty irrelevant in the grand scheme of things for the average user.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the latest information on NitrogenSports.eu? on: July 21, 2023, 04:25:23 PM
The reason I am asking is because I was approached by someone representing Nitrobetting.eu which seems to be another gambling website. Nitrogensports.eu redirects to Nitrobetting.eu which makes me think they are related. They approached me to run some form of a campaign here on Bitcointalk.
They are the same site.

It is a gambling site with bad reputation on this forum.

Assumed so, thanks for confirming. I hope no campaign managers will help them promote.
93  Economy / Gambling / Re: l0tt0.com on: July 21, 2023, 04:01:21 PM
However, I don't think that it's necessary because the system is already a very secure one and those users will understand the importance of password-less login system very soon.

The problem with using E-mail solely without (optional) 2FA is that E-mail is not really a secure means of communication. To those users who want as much security as possible, 2FA is necessary.
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / What is the latest information on NitrogenSports.eu? on: July 21, 2023, 03:58:34 PM
I am curious about NitrogenSports which used to be a very reputable casino but I see some posts from a few years ago accusing them of locking user accounts, blocking withdrawals etc.

The reason I am asking is because I was approached by someone representing Nitrobetting.eu which seems to be another gambling website. Nitrogensports.eu redirects to Nitrobetting.eu which makes me think they are related. They approached me to run some form of a campaign here on Bitcointalk.

This post could serve as a warning incase Nitrogensports.eu went as bad as the accusations say.

EDIT: Perhaps this thread belongs in some other section of the forum. Just posted it here because it is gamling-related.

you would really prefer username/password login? I just hate that system. the current system is so elegant. I was thinking of emailing a code- which you type it, to help with people on different devices.

The question is, will you implement a system based on your preferences or based on player's preferences? As we all know the username with password system is the most used one in most all casinos which means most players are familiar with this system already. Having different account system is unique but I think you should also add the most used system too.

it's not about my preference. it's not secure. fact.. with cracking power nowadays- ANY leaked password is a death sentence. I can promise you that 75% of people use one form of a password, or god forbid the same. yes, i would salt and hash them... but this is a system we need to get away from, actually run from.

i just figured that with 2f being so wide spread- people have access to their email on the reg, people with crypto should be used to it. the device thing, i totally get- which is why i'm adding a code email where you can type it in.

but username and passwords? shit guys. i thought we were better than that. i'm the one who will have to deal with hacked accounts and jacked btc.
but i mean...... if that's really what people want... maybe i can come up with something.

I agree. There's a reason Microsoft and others are pushing passwordless login everywhere. People re-use passwords and store them insecurely. Atleast by using E-mail you only have that one account to secure.

However, I would personally add an option for 2FA on top of the login. It can be an optional feature but should exist nonetheless.

97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vanity Bitcoin Address: Pros, Cons #My_take_on_it on: July 19, 2023, 03:36:07 PM

Pros of Vanity Bitcoin Addresses:

Personalization: Vanity addresses allow users to add a touch of personalization to their Bitcoin transactions. By including a custom phrase or pattern, users can create a unique identifier for themselves or their business.

Branding: Vanity addresses can be an effective branding tool for individuals or organizations. By incorporating a company name or slogan into the Bitcoin address, users can reinforce their brand identity in the digital realm.

Recognition and Memorability: A vanity Bitcoin address with a catchy phrase or recognizable pattern can be more memorable for recipients. This can enhance user engagement and facilitate easier identification of incoming transactions.

Cons of Vanity Bitcoin Addresses:

Time and Resources: Generating a vanity Bitcoin address is a computationally intensive process that requires substantial computing power and time. The more complex the desired pattern, the longer it takes to generate the address. This process can be resource-consuming and may deter some users.

Privacy Concerns: Vanity addresses, by their nature, can reveal a portion of the private key during the generation process. This could potentially expose users to security risks if the process is not handled properly. Caution must be exercised to ensure the private key is adequately protected.

Is Having a Vanity Bitcoin Address a Good Idea?

The answer to this question ultimately depends on an individual's preferences, priorities, and risk appetite. While vanity Bitcoin addresses offer personalization and branding benefits, they come with potential privacy and resource consumption drawbacks. Users must carefully weigh these factors before deciding whether having a vanity address aligns with their goals.

Setting up a vanity Bitcoin address can be an intriguing endeavor, enabling users to personalize their cryptocurrency transactions and enhance brand recognition. However, it is crucial to consider the potential privacy concerns and resource consumption associated with this practice. As with any decision related to cryptocurrencies, thorough research and understanding of the risks involved are essential. Whether having a vanity Bitcoin address is a good idea or not remains a subjective choice, influenced by individual priorities and the value placed on personalization

I am interested how accurate such a meter is and why nobody else seems interested in the fact. AI generated responses are the kind of garbage I hate to see on the forum.
