There will be no "attempt" to remain anon. Anonymity will be kept for two main reasons. 1. Revealing identity has no real bearing on this project because this project is already funded so it will start on the chosen launch date. 2. Revealing all identities associated with Blockchain Ventures will most likely lead to bigger interest in this project which is not what is wanted at launch. We are choosing to start small so that the operation model for XBV can be tested and then it will scale up. This is not an ICO and we do not need one for XBV. Before actual launch there will be small period for public participation. Anyone who wants to donate towards to the progress of XBV can do so. As appreciation, XBV will be sent to any donors. This donation process will be escrowed. We are working out possible ways for people to mine and earn XBV but this is not promised. Even if no one donates funding has already been allocated for this project and it will start.Revealing identities will be considered further down the road but unnecessary at this time. Primary purposes of this thread is for the transparent documentation of operations, activities, and growth of Blockchain Ventures. Thank you for your interest. Before everyone gets steemd (let the puns commence!), let me explain a bit about what is going on with this launch:
1. We want to have a large amount of STEEM to give away via faucets
2. We don't want to spend a lot of money competing with miners just so we can turn around and give it away
3. So we have intentionally made the launch unappealing so that we could execute a longer-term strategy.
What this means is that anyone who reads the code and identifies the value within has a huge opportunity, you can get STEEM the cheapest you ever will be able to and therefore are rewarded for your efforts.
If you are offended by any of the following then it means you do not get the big picture and will ultimately miss out:
1. name squatting less than 100 names (registered via mining)
2. dev mining with 300K HPS (almost nothing really)
3. not knowing what this is all about
4. dev getting their STEEM cheap (which means others get it cheep too)
5. initial centralization of mining
6. someone owning a large fraction of what they created
All crypto-coins need a business model and a development team behind them or they will fail. Most coins opt for a pre-sale, ICO, or private mining.
We have instead opted to go for public mining but low information, which means we are giving savvy miners and people willing to look at our code a HUGE advantage.

If it really bothers you, and you don't want to help facilitate bettering of the coin and its functions, you can add "enableobfuscate=0" to your darknet.conf to disable it. On the other hand, if you want to go above and beyond in your assistance you can add "liquidityprovider=1". That will keep coins mixing constantly, helping the network by providing coins for others to mix with via Masternodes. There is a sliding scale with that parameter, you can enter any number between 1 and 100, "1" will mix with the maximum frequency, "100" will mix less frequently. If you go to help->command line options in the wallet you can see all of the available possibilities for the .conf file, with descriptions of their functions. i just wondered why i was losing coins. if it helps the network its ok its not much. s3v3nh4cks and I were trying to do some testing of the Obfuscation function, and with no one participating it was not just slow, but nonfunctional. Once everyone is on 1.0.2.0 and helping out we should see a big improvement. Can I suggest putting together a quick guide on how to set up your wallets with the optimal settings to help the network? Many are unfamiliar with this and it would probably go a long way. |
