If a retailer uses Bitpay they don't need to worry about price swings and can get paid in the currency which pays their bills. Problem solved.

Our government doesn't quite know what an internet is yet so I'm thinking it'll stay this way for a while yet

Hello, how are things going on with incorporation and insurance?
I'd also like to know this, the website still says February.

This is great and very competitively priced, do you intend on offering more bullion in the future? I am really looking for 10-100oz silver bars

Bitcoin benefits from success stories yeah as if gambling is a success for the public good good for this eric verhoeer guy (if thats his real name) but bad for the rest of us i play poker regurarily in a local casino and meet a lot of people, listen to their stories - and their stories are basically the same: they start playing roulette or some other -EV game, win, get the roulette virus, bets increase, they lose in the long run gambling destroys much more than it creates and sdice does not even create jobs or pay taxes! People have the freedom to do what they want with their money. I could take out a bill and flush it down the toilet if I want to, that wouldn't be very good, I could have invested it in something- but I can do that if I want. Who cares if people want to gamble with their money? They know the risks, people weigh up the risks and decide to do it anyway, should a government tell people what to do with their money? Why not tell us how to dress and where to live too.

This is an awesome idea, hope it grows and you make a good profit!
I can see this would be something that would benefit greatly by social media.

Saw this coming, see this Forum and the Currency Exchange forum in the last month or two. There has been many posts about delayed withdrawals and problems with Crypto, I myself being one of them- luckily I got my money out a 2 months ago and never went back. You could tell this was going to happen with the prices trading at Crypto way higher than the rest of the market, that only shows there was no liquidity (the last trade was today at $22, wtf).
Crypto was trading at like 2nd and 3rd in volume for a while there. But they could not keep it up and closed the MTgox code withdrawals and made it harder for anyone to get money in and out of there- they also went quiet on the forums and everywhere else. I think it's a case of bad management or lack thereof. Shame, it was the best way to cheaply/quickly deposit cash in Australia in it's day. Hope something else will come to fill the void. In the mean time it's back to MtgoxAUD (3.25% deposit fee) or paying $20 international wire fee anytime you want to trade anywhere else.

Yeah I won't trade there anymore, just too unpredictable and it's got worse the last few months. Unfortunate because they had something really promising for a while there.

Their HTTPS certificate seems to be fixed now. I received my withdrawal, after about 7 working days....I also told them pretty much what has been said here, the lack of withdrawal options is severely limiting their market share. At one stage Crypto was like 5th in volume between all exchanges, I daresay that was because of the mtgox code withdrawals and linkages with bitinstant- both of which are not happening now. Also, their bullion store looks like a great idea (prices seem competitive) but it would be better if a) you could buy silver/gold with BTC and b) provide a little more information on each bullion product- at the moment it looks neglected.

It's just random variance, lol. Look at a 8-hour moving average: http://bitcoin.sipa.be/speed-lin-2k.pngAnd here's a 24-hour moving average: http://bitcoin.sipa.be/speed-lin-10k.pngYou only think there's something going on because you're looking too closely. The shorter the period you average, the more you'll see the randomness. And here's a simulation of the randomness you should expect even if the hashrate were constant round the clock: http://bitcoin.sipa.be/simulation/speed-lin-10k.pngEven with a 24-hour moving average, you should expect variances +/- 20%, so if the true hashrate is 25 TH, you can expect a 24-hour moving average chart to swing around between 20 TH to 30 TH normally. Take your tinfoil hat off. Yep +1. This and GLBSE.

Well I got a PM from Crypto and they have told me the certificate should be updated by tomorrow evening and my withdraw should arrive in my account this week. I'll update the thread if this happens. It's more reassuring that they have got back to me quickly on this.
Yeah, not only an enormous bid on the USD market but also another $10k one on the AUD market which has actually just been removed in the last few hours. I thought there used to be a bitinstant method of Crypto ---> Gox through coupons or similar but it seems the only way to get money out is via a bank transfer.

So I have used Crytoxchange a few times in the past, mainly for arbitrage and being in Australia it is the cheapest way to buy BTC. But recently it seems things are taking forever and I simply do not trust them anymore.
So today I find their HTTPS certificate is out of date and also their phone number listed on the website is apparently disconnected (after I tried ringing and got a automated voice saying it was disconnected). I try to use the live support function while logged in but thats a 404...I am still waiting for $250 I withdrew a week ago and there are some huge arbitrage opportunities recently but I simply do not want my money tied up there for too long.
Do you still use these forums Cryptoxchange? What can you say for the above?

This is Bitcoin, what government or authority is going to arrest him? ... all the recent drama concerning a much larger ponzi should answer that. Has Pirate been arrest though? What if the OP doesn't live in your country?

All of this conjecture assumes *all* (or a vast majority) of miners (on ASICS) will cash out immediately cause a 1% drop in value, a blip on the radar of the volatility that will be happening in the next few months.
