What can we do to get these exchanges listed on mintcoin's markets page of coinmarketcap.com? I would like to be able to quickly check the prices and trade activity of all these trading pairs and exchanges. Is it because most of these are rather new, low volume exchanges that they are not being listed?  Or, Does anyone know of an alternative way to easily check all the MINT markets, or maybe a different site that would list and track them?

At the bottom of coinmarketcap is a request form link.  From there you'd choose, "I want to request to modify information on an existing cryptocurrency".

FYI
Current mint exchanges and pairs

AltEx
BTC, LTC

BtcPop
BTC

Bter
CNY, BTC

CoinExchange.io
BTC

CoinGather
BTC, LTC

Cryptopia
BTC, DOT, LTC, DOGE, FTC, UNO, XMR

Nova
BTC, LTC, ESP, DOGE, ARI, CJ, PIGGY

SouthXChange
BTC

Note that I have submitted changes to them before but I haven't seen my suggestions go live.  While they may not support data from all of the exchanges we are listed at, I have noticed that Nova was listed on another coin on their site while we have yet to see Nova listed.

I deposited funds at BtcPop to test their on exchange minting/staking.  After only one day I received a distribution for coins held.  Not bad.  This isn't an endorsement of BtcPop.co but rather a verification of functionality.  Minted coins show up at btcpop.co/Alt-Statement

This could be a solution for users who want to stake but are unable to run their own wallet.  Keep in mind, you will need to trust BtcPop while your coins are in their possession.

Stay minty fresh my friends.  Smiley

Work continues in the background on the mint wallet along with other mint projects.  While I'd also like development to move faster, I understand that we are a community based coin run by volunteers.  Translations are always welcome but there is not a budget in place for such projects.  Google translate is a more cost effective solution then paid translations.
While I'd love to discuss projects we have planned in more detail, the current team has agreed that we don't do pre-announcements.  Such discussions can facilitate speculation and unreasonable expectations.
We don't have ICO or pre-mine money.  We don't have corporate backing or a hype machine.  But we do have a lightning fast, working coin, with a friendly atmosphere of transparency that anyone can participate in.  Smiley

Anyone know who or how to contact Bter to have them get updated information?

I'm sending a few other emails out to services regarding info and updates etc.  I'll add Bter to my list for this weekend.  Smiley

What are the main uses cases for this coin / differentiates it from others other than the interest?

Thanks

At almost 3 years strong, mintcoin's quick 30 second block times allow for speedy transactions.  POS allows for energy and cost savings as opposed to POW.

The friendly and inviting mint community maintain the coin without IPO funds, crowd sales, or expectations of profit.
Mintcoin has a tradition of charitable giving to earth friendly charities.  While there is not a particular campaign running at the moment, we expect launch a new campaign in the future which sets new levels of transparency in charitable giving.

The mintcoin team has progressed thru multiple devs and 3 phases of community leaders and has continued to flourish despite multiple re-structures.  The team is transparent and available.  Anyone is welcome to join and contribute.  Be minty fresh.  Smiley

not had my coins long enough to stake yet and a little confused how the staking works do you have your wallet running all the time to mint?
or can you open it sync and close after 30 mins or so?

Minting happens when you already have the full blockchain downloaded, your wallet is unlocked (for minting only), and you leave it running.  Coins mature after 20 days and are ready to mint but compete with other users on the network.  Coin age and weight are important factors in minting.  You'll see newly minted transactions come into your wallet which take 50 confirmations to solidify.  Generally, if you don't want to mess with the wallet much but you want to stake, you can open your wallet once a month to download the blockchain and earn rewards.  Minting is not required but how else will you STAY FRESH.  Wink

[EDIT] Forgot to mention orphans.  If you see minted transactions come in which turn to question marks it just means that another user on the network was "ahead of you in the line".  In these cases you can either let your wallet run and ride it out, or try minting another time when there isn't so much competition on the network.

I fully synced my mint wallet 2 days ago and turned the wallet off
today I've had it running for 5 hrs and its still not caught up the 2 days of transactions....
It takes my litecoin wallet around 30 secs and my dodgecoin wallet around 5 min for the same period
is this normal ? is there a problem with the mintcoin network?

You may want to consider that the act of minting actually involves leaving your wallet open on the network for rewards.  You wouldn't stake with litecoin or doge so it would be unlikely you would leave your wallet running once the full blockchain is downloaded.  Step away from the running wallet, enjoy some fresh air or some mint flavored gum, return to minted coins.  Smiley

@MintyAllDay Thanks for the update, right now it seems like the only place I can buy Mintcoin is on the POP exchange. With regard to the wallet redesign, what does this actually mean? Is  it a whole new interface or something deeper? I am assuming we will not be required to re-download the Blockchain when upgrading!

Your buying mint at btcpop.co?  How long have you used them?  I'm having issues logging in there to even see the coins on their exchange.  I've sent a support message to them.

The wallet redesign has the new logo and uses new minty colors.  Old links are stripped out and or updated.  I THINK I've shared preview images in the past but I don't recall currently.  I'll need to clear any public sharing with some other team members this weekend though.  But while this preview looks cool, it likely won't be the final design as we still have time to tweak things while working on the new code.  I don't believe the new wallet will require a new blockchain download but if it does, it should be improved in regards to loading time.

Who are the devs by the way? And would the dev team be open to a new GUI Wallet? They can compile or me, I just like to design shit Tongue

Devs should be more active online next week.  New wallet design happened quite sometime ago.  However, we're bringing the new code up to speed before releasing the new design.  But if your hoping to contribute in some manner, we can always use more team members.  Smiley

Just sent them a DM on Twitter for more info.
92  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Nova Exchange community thread on: September 04, 2016, 09:30:26 PM
What is the response? What do you recommend?

I am still engaging them thru Twitter to try and find a reasonable path forward before listing the exchange on mintymintcoin.com.

I've been told that this message was posted after the hack which occurred on May 4th, 2016:

novaexchange.com/message

When the site re-launched on June 4th, 2016, an additional message was posted:

novaexchange.com/notice

Coins are still owed to users and there should be no reason that they cannot be dealt with directly and in a timely manner.

Another important link may show a level of accountability:

Thanks for your post jacee.  Smiley

I've received a response from Nova in regards to the confusion surrounding their exchange and the creation of this thread.

I've asked them to allow me to post that response here in op or post their own response within this thread.
94  Economy / Exchanges / Nova Exchange community thread on: September 02, 2016, 04:26:15 PM
Mintcoin was recently added to Nova Exchange.  After seeing their official thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1440340.0) I am a bit concerned about previous customer interactions.  Unfortunately it appears that the official thread is locked(?) so I'm starting a new community thread to try and understand the current Nova Exchange situation.  Are you owed funds?  Are you able to clarify a history of events in objective terms?  I'm interested in hearing from you.  Post your experiences here and let's get the discussion started.  Smiley

Mintcoin has survived similar things in the past such as Mintpal, Cryptsy, and several others.

So true.  During their times, they were top volume exchanges.  Mint is invasive and just migrates elsewhere.  I FEEL SO FRESH TODAY.   Kiss

I had read this wrong I thought it said btcpop not btcpop that's my bad but btcpop exchange still has.mint listed just need more user trading there.

Do you have a direct link to the btcpop.co exchange or even a list of the coins they offer?  I was unable to find access to the actual exchange or their coin list on the site.

Don't they let the developers know the reasons?

We're working to understand the issue so we can potentially reverse any removal.  We'll be working on this throughout the day.

Oops, sry.  Mis-read.  Do the figures at coinmarketcap or coincap.io work for you?

Does anyone know of a Mintcoin block explorer or website that has the actual current total coin supply count?

https://coinmarketcap.com/ says the available supply is 23,077,840,377 MINT

http://explorer.coinpayments.net/index.php?chain=16 says the supply is 23,454,298,728 MINT

The difference between these two supply counts is 376,458,351 MINT which is currently worth about $22,000 USD. But the coinpayments explorer's last block date says 7/31/2016 so that is not up to date either, so anyone know where we can get the actual total supply?

Good morning!
I am still hosting Mintcoin Official and do not mind supporting the funds to do so; however we need an admin to manage the website. Currently it is being attacked by hackers pushing through non-sense comments within the forum - does anyone want to take this admin task on hand?

Also if someone would prefer to host on their server please let me know and I can push the domain over to you.

Thanks!
Jessie

Please email me at mintyallday@gmail.com and we can work thru the details for the domain transfer.  Thanks cryptomommy.  Smiley
