82  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyone is hyping about bitcoin price in 2016 on: April 04, 2016, 03:36:12 PM
I think everyone is hyping because halving is coming. And many people predict the price of bitcoin increase in 2016 because of halving. and i hope it happen too.
With respect to bitcoin ecosystem, halving must be a very big event and most expected one. Even it is schedule one it can happen once per every four years. So, the expectations and speculations of all the bitcoiners will drive bitcoin prices to new height.

If there was no halving then the price may sit below 100$ the halving has great effect on the price of bitcoin as it affect how bitcoin is being mined.
No the price do not have effect of price increase or price decrease because of halving, but it is due to the interest and adoption of people that the price get some value and stability.

Fundamentally, the price of the bitcoin depends on the supply and demand of the coins. The usage will increase the demand.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2016 and WHY on: April 03, 2016, 10:18:55 AM
The coin that will go viral and will be earned and used by most people.  Grin

And Ethereum too as it has a purpose other than coin features...

Ethereum could be a good choice for investment in 2016. The new coin inflation will be reduced a lot next year.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin of 2016? on: April 03, 2016, 10:17:19 AM
The Altcoin of 2016 could be the Ethereum. It will convert to PoS in eary 2017 and the issurance of new coins are from 0 to 2 millioin.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Have access to 12 PCs.. Which currency is best to mine in my case? (CPU MINING) on: April 03, 2016, 10:03:45 AM
If your CPU supports AES-NI, you can mine the cryptonote based coins, one example is Monero, the other is Bytecoin.

it was said that HODL is much better than monero or any cryptonight, those coin are botnet heavy nowadays, not profitable, hodl instead is fresh and you cna earn with its deposit mechanics, pretty neat

We can say safely that any CPU coins, if they are profitable, they will be mined by botnet. That is the reason I do not like CPU coins.

The R9 390 bios can be editted by the HawaiiBiosReader
https://github.com/OneB1t/HawaiiBiosReader

I do not have experience with it.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: April 02, 2016, 06:46:06 AM
I only buy coins eth to my advantage. I always buy it at the time of trading, and I do not intend to replace the uᴉoɔʇᴉq to eth, it might make me lose even though I know that eth has the potential to become a currency such as uᴉoɔʇᴉq

I hold some Athereum at present. But I do not intend to hold them long. I do not use smart contract, so I might sell them in the future.

I have different opinion. I will hold Ethereum for the long term. So far, there is good development of the coin.

I also hold some of my Ethereum for the long term. If there is no good development of the coin, I will sell.
88  Other / Archival / Re: Should we sell btc? on: April 02, 2016, 06:44:26 AM
We will see $200 and below and not once in the future, mark my words.

That could be right. The cost of mining for large miners are more than $200 if you include all the costs.
89  Economy / Economics / Re: Long term OIL on: April 02, 2016, 06:43:33 AM
Today's released oil capacity figures:

Oil prices slide as U.S. crude stocks hit record. U.S. crude stockpiles rose by 2.3 million barrels to 534.8 million barrels in the week to March 25, the seventh week at record highs, data from the U.S. government's Energy Information Administration showed.
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-global-oil-idUSKCN0WX00R

but all OPEC member has meeting to push oil price up maybe position buy is good for long-term trade.

They can only push prices higher beyond a short-term rise only if they agree to curtail production, which they evidently won't

The Saudi wants to reduce the income from oil in Russia and Iran. So it will want to suppress the oil price.
90  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the number of available bitcoins decreasing? on: April 02, 2016, 06:42:12 AM
No one differentiates between "lost" coins and "idle" coins. All that matters to the Bitcoin price is the number of coins for sale and the number of coins being bought at any given time (supply and demand). Whether the coins are lost or idle, they are similarly not part of the coins that are for sale (not part of supply) and are similarly not having an effect on the price.

There is a huge difference between "idle" and "lost" coins. Most of my coins are idle. They do not form part of the supply. However, if the price of bitcoins crosses $2,000 all my bitcoins will enter the market. Lost coins will not enter the market, irrespective of the price of bitcoin.

To be honest everything will be on the table if it reaches $1k lol. I know most of us will settle the 1st 1k dream lol.

I think this will be the huge sell off point for most before your price comes.

The first $1k dream realised two and half years ago. But that was not sustainable. I think this time, the $1k is sustainable.
91  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are down again? on: April 02, 2016, 06:41:01 AM
The price is still over $400. So it is within the recent trading range. So I think the price is not down yet.
It not going to fall much more. I think it will continue rising slowly till we creap up on 500. Then its go time, we must break through or we fall to the death.

If we really dont make the 500$ dollar barrier with the coming halving we are really in big trouble,we need more people to know bitcoin so that we can break that barrier.
We are not that down with Bitcoin, the value is stable now on this moment so that is very good, it is better than it is going down.
We also know that the halving is coming to use, and that can be very good if it will rise after the halving.

That is right. The price is still around $420. If the price drops to $3xx, I would say the price is down.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: April 02, 2016, 06:39:34 AM
I wonder if wolf0 would ever consider a semi-private group buy in an amd kernel or any other dev for that matter, that would give some of us a fighting chance against some of this increase.

I heard Wolf0 said the Etherminer is already very efficient. So he might not bother improve the efficiency for just a few percentage.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which PSU for 6x R9 390? on: April 01, 2016, 12:00:35 PM
Corsair CP-9020057-EU AX Serie AX1500i ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Titanium 1500Watt, Digital, Netzteil, EU
this one or the Lepa 1600w?
for 4x R9 390?

For 4x390, 1500W is enough.

1500W is even enough for 6x390 if you use the -100mV undervoltage. That will consumes about 220W each.

The 1500W power supplies are usually not single rail, so you have to distribute the power properly among the rails.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: March 26, 2016, 05:26:52 AM
What do you guys think is the target for ETH for 2017? I think we'll hit 0.1 BTC

It depend on the further developments of the coin. If it has, then it will go to 0.1 or 0.5 of bitcoin. If not, it will be 0.

Waiting for a pullback in ETH. It is 5x the supply of Bitcoin already, so the natural short-term limit is about 0.2BTC. There will be ups and downs before it gets there, if ever. I have seen hundreds of scamcoins come and go but always knew that at some point Bitcoin will have a competitor that is driving innovation more inventively, just as companies like Google and Amazon did in their sectors. I do like the look of this one, but it's early days, be careful.

If it is a pump&dump it is one of the most elaborate in the history of mankind, as there seem to be a huge amount of startups working on top of it. But it does seem overbought. Easy in.

There is no limit of the relationship between the Bitcoin and the Ethereum. For example, the ratio between the litecoin and bitcoin is not 0.25.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you mining these days? on: March 11, 2016, 10:06:01 PM
I mine Ethereum. the price is quite high, so it is profitable. The volume is very large in Poloniex, so I can sell it easily.

Thank you, is there cloud mining for Ethereum?

The genesis mining sells 100MH/s for $4400. That was an increase from $1700 previously. I think it is quite expensive.
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum mining still profitable? on: March 11, 2016, 09:58:04 PM

Do you use Windows MSI Afterburner to undervolate the 390? What is the undervolate level? What is the maximum you can do? Is that over -100 mV?

Yes, afterburner. Maximum is -100mV on both cards.

How much is your power consumption for the XFX 390 cards? What is your clock frequency and the power consumption read from the GPUZ?

I did a test, took one old s775 mobo with E8400 + 2 x 2GB DDR2, slammed in two 390's (8GB each), laptop hdd. PSU is not rated corsair CX750M, voltage 228V. Windows 7 x64. Asus has hynix memory and xfx elpida.

Clocks 1125/1500, limiting factor is core. Memory controller load is max 80%.

From the wall:

idle ~100W
mining 680W
mining -100mV 580W

Hashrate 30MH+ 30MH- around 30MH/card. Block  Smiley.

The Power in is 136W, 2x = 272W, 580-272 = 310W, the idle = 100w, so there is 210W difference. Are they from the fans or you have a very inefficient power supply?

I don't trust software when calculating power consumption, they always show too low numbers, both nvidia&amd. Took another card out and power consumption went down 280W.

At those loads cx750m efficiency is ~86%.

-edit- Did some cleaning. Idle 90W, mining 1125/1200, core & aux -100mV, 525W from the wall.

What was the aux voltage before the cleaning? Do you believe it is due to the memory frequency going down from 1500 to 1200? Did you see the difference in power in/out?
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bank??? on: March 11, 2016, 09:54:46 PM
Nope nothing like that now, it would be awesome if there was a bank or a way to invest idle coins and get a decent return with low risks like how it work with banks.

look at magnr or haobtc

Either of those is not insured by the deposit insurance authority. So that is not as safe as the conventional bank.
100  Other / Archival / Re: Should we sell btc? on: March 11, 2016, 09:53:12 PM
If price fall down below 400 usd would it be good to sell it ?

i think that if price will ever go very down, not below 400$ but below 200$, then it will be a time to sell bitcoins, because it would die anyway, so you wouldn't lost all of your invested money then, also you can sell ir price will grow very very high, like to 900$

If the bitcoin price go below $200 and stay there for a few months, it means bitcoin is a dead coin. I will sell all my coin.
