Bitcoin will never be accepted as a "real" currency if it continues to fluctuate like it has in the past. Nobody wants to buy $600 worth of currency only to have it drop the next day to $480.
In my opinion, there are a select few people making HUGE money manipulating the market. There should be no reason Bitcoin rises and falls $100's (Sometimes over 100%) in such a short time.
That is true. But when the bitcoin is used more, the market cap will be high, it is more difficult to manipulate. That is so true, but the people who continue to hold massive stock piles of Bitcoin (more than one person) will continue to do their best to manipulate the market. I think so. But fewer and fewer people will hold big amount of the bitcoin in the future. They will be less influential. |

People here have claimed that Bitcoin is in fact controlled and ruled by China, as mining is centralized by Chinese mining institutions.

If mining is controlled by china.it doesn't mean it is controlling bitcoin also.They can manipulate bitcoin price but not the bitcoin After the halving, the newly mined bitcoin will be reduced. So the Chinese will have few coins to sell in the future. |

I think the bitcoin price could $600 by the end of the August. In September, the price could reach $700. I think we don't have to wait to see $600 price till the end of this month, it will be achieved in next week as of now we are very close to $600 so I think we will see this price very soon. I also believe we will see the price reach $600 this week. If we manage to build a decent support above $600 then we may even advance further. But for now I am already happy if we reach $600 again. Yes it will be good to watch that price if it reaches there soon, and if it doesn't take too long to cross $600 then may be in next month we may touch to the price of $700. Bitcoin is super undervalued. Just like the Internet in 1999, the price is going much much higher. Bitcoin will hit $900 dollars this year, a reasonable prediction. You are right. i think worth of 1 btc in the future of july 2017 will be 700$ .
my assumption is mainly based upon the fact that there is net gain of rate of btc thus i have added 100$ with the avrage price of btc .
in my openion the price will move around 600-700$ .
I am much more optimistic. The price in July 2017 will be between $1000 to $1500. $700 can be in October this year. That could be a right guess. I think the price will be around $700 in October and $900 in December this year. |

Pereira, i know you invested alot of bitcoin into "cheap ether" thinking of yourself as a smart guy, but youre not. You and others may fool 2-3 idiots into thinking etc and ETH will have parity at 5-6-7$, but it wont happen. And most people lurking in this forum know this aswell, i doubt there are more than 2-3 lost greater fools, everyone know this is a FUD unmoderated section. Sell ETC and buy ETH before you'll die poor.
Logically, they should reach parity (very similar offers with very similar distributions), but nobody should think that that parity should be reached around half of the current market cap. The current market cap is way way overvalued, because still in dream mode of complex smart contracts with lots of business money. That dream is over. I think, parity, yes, but rather somewhat lower than the current ETC price. If the ETH and ETC reach parity, that means both coins are dead coins. The price will be lower than 0.01 dollar each. |

to me after 3 months the price of bitcoin will be above 800USD, as you can see that before the recent down fall the price of bitcoin was trading in 670$ and still people were investing their money in bitcoin, because every one wan thinking that the price of bitcoin are going to increase, when the bad news about bitfinex spread in the market which cause panic selling, as the market has now recover so much and now people are again taking interest in the market therefore i can say that bitcoin can cross 800# after month or two.
A few weeks ago, I would have the same opinion. But after the Bitfinex hack, I think the price could be $700 instead of 800. sure the price will increase, before it was predicted that by the end of this year bitcoin price will be $1000 but after the bitfinex hack now the speculations are that it will reach this by 2017. Yeah $1k seems to be difficult to achieve in this year, but we can expect the price of $800 in this year and that is also an good value to hold. I think the $1000 price could be achieved in the first or second quarter of next year. $2000 could be in 2018. That could be right. But after the Bitfinex hack, the bitcoin price rise could be slower, the $1000 could be later next year. |

I think the bitcoin price will be worth between $1100 to $1300. It will be the double of current price.
After the Bitfinex hack, the price might not be that high. It could be between $900 to $1000 at the time. The price is recovering after the bfx hack already, it will be totally forgotten about in a few months (price affecting wise). I went for between $1000-$1200. It is possible for the bitcoin price to between $1000 and 1200 in July 2017. Without the hack, the price could be $1500. The Bitfinex exchange hack caused some confidence drop of the bitcoin, it reduce the price rise for a few months. |

Most of the existing Ethereum developers will support the ETH only. So the ETC has to spend a lot on development. dude... the world is full of developers.... why would etc need eth developers? You forget that the valuation of ethereum became this high exatcly due to the current dev team.. They have the contacts, they have the contracts and they have the capital to truly develop the platform. ETC doesn't have this and is now boasting with high hash rates to promote the price. It is a massive circle they are in. Higher price --> higher hash --> higher price --> etc. Using hashrate as measurement for what is supported is stupid as they have shown support for eth fork just weeks ago and are now only following the money. If the DAO hacker proclaim that he will support the ETC by spending money on the development, that could maintain the price. |

I think the bitcoin price will stay at the $650 level for two more months. Then it will rise to $800 to 900.
the fact that price falls and it may soon reach $600, but I hope not to fall further. I think this is just a panic, so I'll take advantage if the price falls to $600. The price is below $600. In fact, it is $540 now. So it could be a good time to buy some for the long term. |
