81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 23, 2013, 05:05:00 PM
Does anybody know how the consensus works in next?

The same as in Bitcoin.

As far I understand it there is no incentive to run a node in next? What keeps me from installing 1000 nodes and doing a 51% attack? In Bitcoin there is the expensive POW but how does the nxt network gets secured?
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 23, 2013, 04:56:53 PM
Next is apparently still broken. I already see people writing about "THE NEXT SCAM".

The only thing that has changed about NXT since yesterday is that it was heavily attacked.   Angry

Also, another thing that has changed is an influx of people setting up nodes left and right making the network stronger!

If a payment network can not sustain an attack it is worthless.

Does anybody know how the consensus works in next?

Here's what one should develop around this coin:

A poker site where buy in goes into house wallet before the game/tourney and payouts happen no matter what at the end of each game/tourney - no manual withdrawls or deposits over the amount to buy in or reload chips.  Rake gets paid from house wallet out to casino owner wallet immediately.  I'm researching bitcoin casinos and it seems like a lot of them get hacked all balances stolen.... quite often.  A lot of the time, this might even be the casino owner stealing everyone's balances and pretending it's hacked.
Can you explain this for a non poker player please? Who has control of the wallets?

You should go to Germany with this car! No speed limits on highways! If this is not an argument...

89  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we back in a bull market? on: December 20, 2013, 06:55:17 PM

We are going a long way down now. This seems to be just the start of government regulation.

Being on the speculation forum and setting aside the integral anti-government philosophy of Bitcoin for a moment just so that we can consider things with a cool head, I don't understand why some people think that government regulation will make the price go down (I assume it is the price you are talking about when you say "we are going a long way down now" and not our ethical standards!). I think it is one of the several indispensible keys to making the price go up. Have I missed something?

You have missed that you can not transfer anymore cash to BTCchina. It is not about being legal or not. Now it is just much more difficult to buy BTC. That's it.
90  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we back in a bull market? on: December 20, 2013, 05:21:21 PM
The government of the most powerful country in the world just basically shut down the largest Bitcoin exchange in the world and this is it? We are back? Amusing.

We are going a long way down now. This seems to be just the start of government regulation.

There is no content in this release. It is just hot air. I wonder how much did you pay for getting this published?

How about this: Go to Las Vegas and give free Casinocoin stickers to everybody! And also stick them on prominent places of course.

I was very happy that transcoder returned but he seems rather busy with this 9-5 job.

So I will take the initiative:

Any coders here who can help build a CSC browser wallet based on the SpareCoins wallet?  We need to replicate Blockchain.info's balance fetching and transaction pushing.

I also take CSC donations for funding the CSC browser wallet: CdXvZX7jQ8REiHEjtK6fHeLdYH9Pug66He

It will be a huge push for CSC if we are the second coin which has a browser wallet!

Furthermore: Donations for translation of casinoco.in into Chinese: Cc9hFodEjAw6VogzyV4qHc1SoZPB7BZSts

This name doesn't resolve for me.  Nothing @ forum.casinocoin.com
Everyone Please sign-up at:
forum.casinocoin.org

The original forum located at forum.casinoco.in is full of spam.

Any pool related information please post to my other thread i just started and posted on page 32.

Link not working mate Sad.

I propose NOT to use this forum. Let's stick with bitcointalk and have 3, 4 threads about CSC here. Here are far more people! We need visibility!
96  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Insured up to 100,000 BTC on: December 14, 2013, 04:43:55 AM
The good thing about BTC is that you do need to trust anybody in order to own them. It is even better than insurance. Everything else is not BTC but some more or less meaningless numbers on websites.

It seems you have missed the word "not".
The good thing about BTC is that you do NOT need to trust anybody in order to own them. Right?

Yes, I did. Sorry. Should get more sleep.

Serious question for the various pool operators that we have here please:

Tomorrow I will be completing the buildout of 10 dedicated mining rigs, each with 6 x 7950s hashing at 600KH/s - 640KH/s per card, so between 3,600 - 3,850KH/s per rig for a total of 36-38.5MH/s. Now obviously that took a fairly hefty investment and I can't afford to have them up/down/up/down when they should be mining. Are any of you 100% confident that you could handle that influx right now? Or should I look to split them up between pools?

Why do you not simply solomine with such a huge hashing power? In the long term this is much better for you!
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Altcoins could be extremely beneficial to invest in? on: December 14, 2013, 12:05:24 AM
Sexcoin. It's the only one so far that has a massive global industry waiting to make use of it.

How about Casinocoin? Massive global industry...
99  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I am currently country shopping. What are some good ones? on: December 13, 2013, 11:40:22 PM
Ideally I would like a place where I can just live in a small place on a beach with Internet connection for a few hundred bucks a month.

I'm even fine with just being international and living in a new place every 6 months or so.

Or maybe even a Bitcoin hub like silicon valley for Bitcoin (I know Berlin has a lot of buzz, that is certainly an option).

Same here! I am also searching for a warm place for the winter at least and maybe even longer. And I already considered almost all the places mentioned in this thread here.

I would definitely like to have some fellow Bitcoin people around me and also hire some local developers.

Maybe we can also find a group of people who would like to move to the same place or nearby. Maybe renting out a villa in Thailand or caribbean together and creating a BTC hub.

Most beautiful would be a city with a nice beach and mountains behind. Somewhere between half a million and 4 million inhabitants. Nice infrastructure, fast internet, no or few/simple taxes, simple laws and friendly people. English speaking is a plus but I would also like to pick-up a new language.
