81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Central banks beat Bitcoin at own game with rival supercurrency on: March 14, 2016, 03:24:27 AM
RSCoin will no doubt instantly become the world's most widely adopted private chain

bitcoin is the world's most widely adopted public chain

congratulations to both chains fo being number 1 in their respective class

Satoshi's invention is just beginning to be used as a powerful tool that will help us all cope with the complexity of our lives.  We will begin to see many new applications for this standard technology. It will soon affect every industry making the term "blockchain" synonymous with "modern progressive state of the art higher living standards"

Congratulations banking industry for learning how new scientific inventions can help you deliver better services to your customers. I can't a wait to see which existing legacy industry learns about this new science lesson next.

DDOS at Poloniex.  Someone with too much free time and nothing better to do.  Or a competitor.
83  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex & maker-taker fees on: March 11, 2016, 12:37:17 PM
What do you use Poloniex for?
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL [IOTA ]- ICO 2 -Do YOU want to buy IOTA at a reasonable price? OR BIG SCAM? on: March 11, 2016, 01:34:28 AM
wha?

This coin hasn't even reached the exchanges yet.  Wait until there is some liquidity, the price will come down.  What you are hearing is hype. 5 desparate guys trading in a very illiquid environment.  General economic theory at work here.
85  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Women of Bitcoin - please help me explain bitcoin consensus to my girlfriend on: March 08, 2016, 11:53:02 PM
Thanks, I'll give it a try. Cartoons might work.
86  Other / Beginners & Help / Women of Bitcoin - help me explain consensus to my girlfriend so she buys BTC on: March 08, 2016, 11:43:41 PM
Every time I try to explain bitcoin to my girlfriend, she asks, "what's mining" and "why"?  So I try to explain the need for consensus and lose her after two sentences.

She still has yet to put even one dollar into bitcoin and I hope she gets in before the halving (which she really can't comprehend).  Plus she makes more money than me which makes me want to convince her even more. But I showed her this Daily Decrypt and she had a much longer attendtion span because the host is a woman.  Jealousy?  I don't know but it worked.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VQGlcLFhwE0

So now I am looking for other women who explain bitcoin like Andreas, who is great, but ineffective in this application (another boring man).

The daily decrypt is a little more advanced than I need right now.  Looking for more basic info.  Like I said, I have yet to convince her that bitcoin is even worth putting ten bucks into.

 Thanks in advance.

88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum reach a billion market cap this year? on: March 03, 2016, 04:05:29 PM
a billion fiat paper dollars?

hmph

easily
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH ... I see a problem on: March 02, 2016, 06:41:36 PM
Fiat is is moving through BTC to ETH, and it's a good thing, because any coin over 6 billion market cap gets regulator attn, so let there be a thousand billion dollar market cap coins, instead of a single trillion dollar market cap coin.

Keep crypto on the down low (many low market caps) until alt coin development infiltrates all of society.

93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / SYS hits #3 so I'm looking for other "pegged asset" coins like SYS on: February 29, 2016, 06:09:42 AM
Hi, long time lurker, first time poster.  Sorry, but I posted this in the trading section by accident:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1380978.msg14044856#msg14044856

I'm just looking for other coins with "pegged asset" functionality like SYS which just hit number 3 in trading volume signaling the next fad following The ETH/RADS/EXP programmable blockchain fad, and the MAID/SC/SNCX craze.

Just a name or link would be helpful. Thanks!

94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Microsoft Azure supports all automated price fed asset coins now (SYS/BTS) any more? on: February 29, 2016, 05:55:56 AM
The pegged asset coins are taking off BTS/SYS

This new tech requires more effort from the miners, so most coins don't utilize it, but can anyone tell me which other coins do (utilize this approach)? Let's continue this amazing run $$$$$$ !!

BTS uses pegged assets to run a P2P FOREX/COMEX market
STS uses them to run a P2P eBay
