81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 12, 2024, 11:56:25 PM
If they spend $20 from $100 and they end up not wining, it means that 20% of their salary has just been wasted on gambling.
And that's an amount that's quite high whether it's big or small amount but if the percentage is 20%, that's a lot.

Question you should ask is, what if the person actually had financial need that will cost them the rest of the $80, that means they will not even have any money to add to their savings. It is a wrong calculation and let's not forget that gambling is for fun and not a compulsory thing to do. You have to sort out your needs first before you can think of gambling.
It always boils down to the tip about spending what they can afford to lose. But tell that a hundred times, how many do you think will listen?

I don't think that an addicted gambler will listen to you no matter how badly you tell them that they have to spend only a decent amount that they won't be too bothered losing it.

I've won 1st place and I have received my reward. Thank you!  Smiley
Congratulations mate.

Looks like a success on your end tonpoker and you've got pretty much loved from the participants. We're waiting for what you think about what ahoybruase have said as a feed back to the event that you've got started.

Overall, my first impressions of this poker bot aren't bad, and the freeroll tournament was quite easy because many registered participants were sitting out. Grin Apparently, many of them forgot the start time of the tournament.
Or they just like to watch you over as you guys played against each other. Anyway, again congrats to everyone and also to tonpoker, seems to be a successful event.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to buy privacy coins? on: May 12, 2024, 09:59:36 PM
@OP, everything has been mentioned on how to do it. There's gotta be a harder time this time thanks to the authorities cracking everything down.

However, if you already have some stable coins or major coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum why not try Exch to buy XMR and make sure to hold it on a wallet that supports Tor that makes your wallet untraceable, and anonymous.
If not the best, this is one of the best to be able to purchase XMR from being anonymous.

do it outside a centralized exchange.
There are still centralized exchanges where it is listed but what's sad if someone doesn't want to take that hassle, they'd go there.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Open source code doesn't mean anything as long as it's CBDC on: May 12, 2024, 08:57:50 PM
Let's forget the privacy and centralization for a moment but it's just another stable coin issued by government and in reality it doesn't really any different from the traditional fiat we use with the internet banking so for someone who thinking about investing purposes can't really fall for this.
There's no privacy in the government's stable coin and you're right with it. It's about another money produced by the government so with this. They have the cash and CBDC that they have full control on it.

Are they also going to take over digitally?

But what doesn't makes sense is they've got already the support of many companies making apps for them to be used for the transactions online and credit cards as well for the use of the fiat digitally so, there's no need for this TBH.

!!! FREEROLL !!!

On May 12th (Sunday) at 20.00 CET there will be exclusive freeroll for BitCoinTalk forum. The prize pool is $100.

Registration by link

Nice promotion, and for a free roll it's a nice prize pool. For now, there are just 4 of us who registered, but I think there is enough time for others to join. It will be interesting, we haven't had a poker game on the forum for a long time, so I guess it will be fun to play with some people again. Good luck to everyone.

Many people like to play tournaments more than cash games, it's totally different. So if you want to make a serious poker site, you need a good tournament offer with some guaranteed prize like many other poker sites.
I'm not going to join but it's true that it's been so long since I've seen a poker game in the forum. The popular one was with swcpoker but I don't know what happened to them.

The prize pool isn't bad for every participant to enjoy it. It's Sunday and I've got to do something that's why I can't join it. But those that have registered and haven't read it yet, there's still ample time for you to sign.

So with that, I wish tonpoker and all of the participants good luck.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 11, 2024, 01:09:29 PM
That was the expected scenario by most fans and I think even the Timberwolves have assumed that this is going to be their break for this series and they'd got more assurance for the next upcoming games.

The Nuggets just proved that they're a defending champion and they're not yet out of this semis and there's more to come with the upcoming remaining games for their match-up.

Both wants to have their own revenge but let's see if the Nuggets gonna have a winning streak and will tie up the series or not.

It's a series of adjustment, Nuggets took two games before they made the right adjustment and I'm sure the Wolves are also preparing something in game 4 like a big adjustment to beat the Nuggets.
Yeah, both will adjust to each of their plays. This is still gonna be that far although we know that in the end only one will move forward.

The defending champion are not ready to give up this series, they just need another win to even the series and the edge will be on them, so let's see in game 4, and I think it won't be a blowout game but rather a close one.
It is possible for them to tie that but one fact is that we're getting close to the conclusion of this series. To be honest, the Timberwolves are the fan favorite now who's possible to get the ring for this season.

Despite Nuggets became the champ last season and made it look easy, we're not used to seeing them struggle like this.

87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 11, 2024, 10:55:35 AM
The Denver Nuggets look like they are going to steal a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight. They’re leading pretty good at the half. It’s now or never for them. If they lose tonight they go down 0-3 and its all over.
They've won.

That was crazy, the strongest have lost on their home-court advantage. I thought that this is going to be ending on 4 but seems that we're going to see more of it.

Many thought that Wolves will be more aggressive on this and have more greater chance to win especially they have the homecourt advantage also Gobert is back to help them defensively. But Nuggets take the lead miles away that's why at early part of 4th quarter its clear that they would take the game 3 of this series. Game 4 would be more exciting since imagine for sure Wolves will take their revenge and Nuggets will try to maintain there momentum since they need that to extend this series and get another win so they would have big chances to defeat Wolves and advance to another round. Its unexpected lose for Wolves but the defending champ show good determination today.

88  Economy / Gambling / Re: More revelations on the challenges of physical casinos on: May 11, 2024, 08:09:37 AM
That can happen to anyone.

It's not actually a challenge but it is something that happens for you to anticipate if you have experienced that before. Betting shops/agents or local casinos, anything can happen based on their rules.

They can give oddly reasons for one to deny the winnings of a bettor or at least delay it for them to test that gambler and see how long his patience is.
We are just gamble and the authority will always have the last word/action and in which stands for the gambling site/operator or whom we are addressing .
we are thankful to never experience any troubles from our gambling activities
Fortunately, yes I haven't experienced and I am hoping that it won't happen to me ever. But I am just prepared for anything that can happen if things go south.

though I manage to taste delayed payment because of some errors but never that I was alarmed because that site is reputable and have proven their name in this field for long time now.
This is normal but if it happens almost at most times then that's not normal anymore. As long as you won't get denied with your own withdrawal and there's just the delay due to some reasons.

Like technical stuff, network matters, etc then that's still an acceptable reason for that problem.

They are still leading the series though, and so I'm thinking that they are going to make a big comeback in game 4 and take a commanding 3-1 lead before going back to Denver.
Now, this is the interesting part this win by the Nuggets will be their momentum for this series. But you know guys, what? We're all winners in here as we're watching great series left and right.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Expertise in Sports and Sports Market Knowledge on: May 10, 2024, 11:19:25 PM
Who said this?

He believes that and he's a sportsbettor? But he didn't said that it has been profitable to himself but let's assume that it was. I just don't understand about the latter part about our knowledge being factored in prices?

It seems that he's talking about the combination of knowing sports betting markets and having knowledge about the sport. What are your thoughts about that OP? You should have given yours too.

I thought the OP would give his own thoughts at the end but didn't.
Well, next time he might just add what he thinks about the topic that he's started.

In my estimation, the more you know about the sports the more you also know about sports betting. You cannot analyze a basketball team and games without discussing which team has the highest odds of winning, the underdogs, and other sports betting languages used that has been borrowed from sports. They are together. The slight difference is in learning how to use the technology that is involved and going through the sports betting website to place a bet.
That's why it is a combination as I've said and if he can also tell who said that in the quote then we'd know who's that guy. But if he don't want to disclose it, that's fine.

Anyway, for those sports bettors, we have the same thought about having the basic idea of what we're going to bet. If you bet without that background, you're not going that far that might just lead you to deal with multiple losses and frustrations.

This is what someone already said about it.

Quote
I’m a professional sports bettor and I firmly believe not knowing about sport is in many cases an advantage to profiting from it. Many men believe their great knowledge of sport will make them money from betting on it but it’s more important to have knowledge and understanding of sports betting markets and in fact nearly all their knowledge will already be factored into the prices.

93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 09, 2024, 11:04:42 PM
I'd honestly tell them to do something else, find a hobby or something. Maybe invite him to join me on what I enjoy.
I'd also tell the same thing to do other things when they keep on losing or they are not able to think properly anymore because what they have in their mind is to chase and recover their losses.

Despite losing a lot with their bets, they are continuing due to the fact that they think only of a few things. To continue and recover, and the regret of gambling and the money that have lost.

So, for the traders there is a stop loss. With gamblers, there's nothing like that and that's why many chooses to continue.
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Peoples expectations about casinos free spins on: May 09, 2024, 09:55:09 PM
They're like free money to me but that money should be spent to the casino where it's given to you. Free spins are actually good when you're just there to hang up and want to kill some time.

Don't expect that you'd win a lot from it but I've seen other gamblers able to withdraw some money on it but they're not tremendous as some others may think.

Just don't expect too much money from the free things that we're given to us just like with the free spins. They're good to enjoy and just have fun with it when you receive one.
95  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Lack of capital or knowledge, which one is holding traders back from profits? on: May 09, 2024, 08:56:30 PM
how will you advice a trader that is suffering from any of this problems or how did you get out of the problem if you had suffered from having lack of capital or lack of knowledge. Which of this problem is more common among traders?.
Gain knowledge and capital.

For everything that someone is lacking of, you need to fill them in and there will be no other solution to that problem but that. If you can't do anything to fill that gap in, then you're the problem.

And being you as the problem, you need to realize that you're in a big trouble that yourself is a problem when you can't fill that in for lacking money or capital.

It only means that you need to work for yourself and as for the knowledge, you need to spend time reading and learning more materials about trading.
96  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If all your wages were paid in USDT, would you accept it? on: May 09, 2024, 07:50:22 PM
Yes.  Wink

As long as it's a payment that is liquid then there will be no problem for the most of us to receive it. We're receiving that from the payments and invoices that we have.

And that's so, not a problem if my wage will be on it. It's a modern day it is and even in the freelancing world, there are clients that are teaching their employees to setup a wallet and get paid with any crypto.
97  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it proper for younger ones to gamble? on: May 09, 2024, 01:42:13 PM
If the kids are taking gambling more seriously than their school then they have to check out the parents if they're guiding them properly.

If you know someone personally OP that they've got kids or the kids themselves are more focused to gambling than their studies, report it to the school administrator and to their parents.

With too much usage of the internet is also helping these kids to get more of gambling and that's why, proper guidance and limit of their usage is a must which is the duty of the parents.

I agree with you. Lack of parental supervision is also one of the major factor causing the increasing rate of bad habit and practice in teenagers. If the parents play there role with a strong hand of discipline I doubt this will be the case at least the fear in the children will limit the extend to which they incorporate such habit.
While, there are parents that does their duties. There are also kids that are hard headed and no matter what reminder and supervision they get from their parents, they don't obey them.

If those teen now take gambling as a source of income how then are they gonna live in the years coming.
Many of them are going to realize that if they're going to treat it as a source of income, they'll be having hard time in doing that.

That's why they need to study, gain a skill and work their asses so that they can earn money when they grow old and just gamble as a pastime.

99  Economy / Economics / Re: Oil producing countries experiencing hardship. on: May 08, 2024, 10:46:17 PM
They're not having hard time but instead, they're the ones predicting the entire world if we're going to have series of more inflation or they'd setup something together with the FED.

Is it that these natural resources are not enough to keep us going?
They are natural resources but they're limited and that's why we can't keep with them forever. But there must be a way for them to find a way to keep on producing and digging the lands.

Hydro and electricity is making crude to become irrelevant that is why it is not bringing much value,  and people still depend on crude.
Not irrelevant at all. If you're talking about cars, yes, cars are the most consuming of oil products but producing electricity also requires oil/crude from the facilities that generates it.

I mean some if not most of them.

Nice.

Although, you're also starting with a high amount, you should track yourself because if you become unsuccessful then all you have to do is to stop.

But you're right, it's not the end of the world as you've got a job and you can go back save again for it through it.
