I'm calling scam on suprnova

For several days I've been mining at over 20kSol/s, I've consistenlty got 25% less than expected.
I only have a small time farm, yet I'm the biggest contributer, which is already a major red flag.

STAY AWAY
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8Vvuskew8TmTEVLSTRhbFREdHM

Luck has been bad... to the tune of your missing 20-25%

I too feel something isn't right with this pool. To lazy to go into details but I was excepting much more from my cards. Is there another good pool.

It's funny that people always call scam at first sight though all the stats are widely open to the public.

1. Where do you get the information from that you should earn 25% more?

2. Did you check the luck of the pool? Was it bad during the time you were mining? Then just wait a bit longer and you will enjoy good luck as well because after bad periods always good periods come.

3. Did you try other pools? Is it better there? Then you're free to stay there and spread the hash around.

Running the pools is far more difficult then some people might think, I'm doing it for quite some time and I know what I'm doing. I'm doing it as an enthusiast and I don't scam people. I appreciate any Form of constructive criticism, but calling just plain idiotic 'scaaaam' without any background knowledge is really unfair.

People don't understand luck and variance, enough.  The online calculators predict what the payout should be with 100% luck. No pool can sustain that all the time.

EXACTLY. Well said. People check the calc and dont even add in all the fees they KNOW they are paying and STILL bitch lol.

Hey guess what... you are paying 1% pool fee... like 2% miner fee or 5%+ if you disable optimizations... you draw out at 1 HUSH balance, 1% more lost in tx fee... pool has ~92% efficiency... 8% more lost in orphaned or stale shares...

That is 12% - 15% most don't even bother to account for in the calc... just add 10% to your POOL FEE and live with that estimate. Adjust per pool as you see the figures for efficiency and luck/variance. You wont be disappointed again.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Crypto Currency FRANKO [w/ OPENSOURCE FRK ATM!][NEW WEBSITE Design] on: June 22, 2017, 05:21:42 PM

If you pay any attention you would know he has large projects he is working on and likely forgot about this. I will work to try to get explorer up too

If you would pay attention you would already know I addressed these other projects that he started and left this one behind, yet still stringing along more people with hopes and rhetoric. For a coin he named after himself one would think that he wouldn't leave it to die.

And he isn't... but he is leaving behind dead algos like scrypt mining that the normal miner can no longer truly afford to participate in. That is ASIC land now.

Expanse is going to be the home of the project token that will replace FRK. It won;t require the same block verification methods from mining as this original coin he first created. He hasn't released details because it isn't complete. Simple as that.

you want it rushed... pay for it. Simple as that.

If you had any idea as to the scale of what Defaced is doing, you wouldn't worry about this coin at all... because the foundation to transfer this into an Expanse token is there, the coin isn't broken, just not sold on exchanges... your problem not everyone's.

Also, what is dead about this coin? It works, wallet works, nodes online... it is missing only a decent exchange, which is not the dev's responsibility. One person is not going to get a coin on an exchange... even with paying up front.

Defaced, when you have a chance, I saw you said you were putting nodes back up, and had 14 connections. I can only get 4 with the recent nodes others posted.

Can you please...

1. Dump your node list and update the OP?
2. Zip and upload a new chain and also update the OP with new link?
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Crypto Currency FRANKO [w/ OPENSOURCE FRK ATM!][NEW WEBSITE Design] on: June 21, 2017, 04:40:34 PM
The developer has colluded with the Yobit administration! Otherwise, it is impossible to explain the spikation and artificial raising of the price of FRK. Purses for input and output are closed, there is no more than 10,000 FRK on the stock exchange and the developer says that he created another crypto currency, which we can exchange, full SKAM

Newbie FUD... actually go look at Defaced's projects and then delete your post lol!
раз, ты такой умный, выкупи у меня 30 000 FRK по цене Yobit!

Once, you're so smart, buy me 30,000 FRK for the price of Yobit!

I don't have to BUY FRK, I have some... and can mine it on my own if I cared to.

The dev has no control over the exchange and YoBit has a TERRIBLE reputation for doing what you described to MANY COINS not just FRK. You are making assumptions and spewing FUD for no reason.

BUY YOUR OWN DAMN FRK but do not bitch because YoBit is shitty... EVERYONE would have the same issue not just you.

I'm seeing everyone run from suprnova, why is that?
Besides that, I'm calculating that I have gathered only 70% of the expected amount of coins over the past 48 hours on suprnova, not what I would expect for a pool that has over half the hashrate.  Huh

Some miners run their own multicoin hop applications and move to "profitable" pools.

I also got my expected coins per 24 hours and then some from Suprnova. Calc shows I should have earned ~ 9.5 HUSH over last 24 hours, and earnings on the pool show I earned 9.9+ HUSH in the same period.

89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZENCASH: Permanent, Distributed, and Fully Anonymous cryptocurrency on: June 18, 2017, 01:40:39 PM
What are you talking about 13% fees? There's a known funding model, set out in the Whitepaper, 3.5% for devs, 3.5% for secure nodes, 5% for DAO, which makes a total of 12%. This to me is the major STRENGTH not weakness of ZenCash. I also thought it was fairer to all parties than a straight up 20% going to devs as in Zcash.

What centralize solution are you talking about? This is a distributed proof of work coin with an ASIC resistant mining algorithm. In what sense is it centralized visa-vis other ASIC resistant coins? How are nodes centralized if they're private people staking their own ZenCash?

I think criticisms of ZenCash should be made, but ones with a basis, like the poster before you, rather than one's just made up.

What I like (more like liked - in the past), about this project was incentive and looking promising with new features.
Now it's looking bad, because - dev gone, fees (almost 13%) and centralized solutions, it wasn't meant to be another ZCash, but it's getting to this point - even praising ZCash, which definately isn't what cryptocurrenies/assets, decentralized should look like.
But seems like they are trying to push it that way. I will always go anytime with decentralized solution and open-sorce, community driven, than centralized, and fees driven. And I think that most of the real cryptocurrency users and fans believe and go with such solution, than centralized, nodes setup.

Decentralization not centralization is a way-to-go.
Ok, I was wrong, about 1%, so what? 12% is still a lot of when people don't want to give 1-2.5% for dev fee for miners or 1% for mining pool.
And as we count we see = 100% mining - 12% dev coin/nodes/dao - 2-2.5% dev fee miner - 1% pool = 84.5-85% of your mined coins.
And then taxes after sale the currency, so when we can only have about 70-72% of our mined coins... Everybody wants to be in the middle of our (miners) coins. 3.5% there, 5% out there, but miners mainly give you the strength of your network, I feel like taxation, so I will always choose the solution without taxation, or without fees. Just give me the address for donation - I will donate for your work, and not that you will have my earned coins. Zen is nothing more than another reincarnation of ZCash, just a little more powdered to look more 'open', with lower fees than ZCash. Nodes will always be in some part of centralized - it's not an obvious central solution, but it's similar to check pointing - it's based on more centralized solution.

WOW...

Taxation of miners coins... they aren't TAKING any coins AWAY from the PUBLISHED miner distribution in anyway. It was BUILT to ALSO reward a dev/DAO/NODE fund as PARTICIPATION continues. It is not taxation if you VOLUNTARILY CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE!

Also... IT IS YOUR CHOICE TO USE A MINER WITH A DEV FEE!!!! They state a way to turn it off up front in exchange for NOT using optimizations THEY took the time to code. The trade off is worth it because the optimizations are worth more than the dev fee.

You don't like pool fees? OPs shouldn't get paid to make your mining EASIER?

I will just stop... you just want all your mining for FREE without having to code your own software, run your own wallet nodes, host your own pools AND run your own exchange. GOT NEWS FOR YOU PEOPLE MAKE THOSE THINGS TO MAKE $$$$$ NOT BABYSIT AND FEED COINS TO YOUR ASS!

Any updates on Eleos wallet?
Is it working for windows now?

Both the eleos wallet and the zend/swing wallet version worked fine for me on Win 10 Pro x64.

Check OP, and grab the updated zend and zen-cli, then the swing wallet jar. Follow instructions. wallet has been online for days since those were posted.

Is the network down?
I can't mine on any site, and every pool says 0 miners

suprnova is and has been fine unless it went down in the hour I wasnt watching and is already back up.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZENCASH: Permanent, Distributed, and Fully Anonymous cryptocurrency on: June 17, 2017, 03:16:48 PM
ZenCash has a few strengths. It has committed devs - that hasn't shown through the last fortnight because of the nightmare resulting from one individual's conduct - but over months it should show through. Masternodes also should definitely offer support for price increase, although my view is the number of coins required to be held needs to be higher than the 42 so far suggested to effectively support price.

Zcash has lots of support, and also a great developer team. At about $400 a coin though, my view is that ship has already sailed - I personally would find it higher risk to invest in Zcash at $400 versus ZenCash at around $8.80. Zcash could spike some more, it could even double, but in my view it's got more room to crash too. I expect ZenCash to stabilise and rise slowly over the short term - when incentivised nodes come in or other developments, that's when I see it rising faster.

Please increase the Masternodes coin requirement to 100-200.
I think this would not be good idea, when price starts climbing creating masternodes will become very expensive and for most it will be impossible. I think it should stay like this, we only will get more masternodes, increasing requarements won't inflence price much.

Also a lot of people probably specifically planned for zen by holding enough zclassic during the fork for a masternode. They already probably aren't happy with how the launch has gone, and they will only be more unhappy if you change the masternode requirement now. It's on the low end but if zen went up 3x it'd be over $1000 per masternode.

But when mining is steadily costing me and others only 10% of that or LESS to get those coins... see what's happening there.

Participation begets value. Can't be overtaxed for running a node, if you earned your stash the way it was designed to be.

can someone post a good pool for this coin, because most of it are pretty dead

I've never had problems with hush.suprnova.cc
payouts are always on time and never had connection issues etc.  Smiley

would you mind posting your config I have had issues with supernova.
Second suprnova... I mine three equihash coins here steadily.

Config is basic for both AMD and Nvidia.

Claymore 12.5 AMD - ZecMiner64.exe -zpool stratum+tcp://zdash.suprnova.cc:4048 -zwal LOGIN.WORKERHERE -zpsw X -allpools 1

EWBF 0.3.4b NVIDIA - miner --server zdash.suprnova.cc --user LOGIN.WORKERHERE --pass X --port 4048

All my clocks and fan settings are set in AfterBurner on login in Win 10 Pro x64

Must have been a pretty small block!

It staked a second time and confirmed within ~17 hours of the first time it staked. TX below of latest stake.

Yup all normal and working great!

  • You started with 18 HBN in 2014-07-10
  • Staked it once in 2014-07-27 got a reward of .8 and split the 18 into 2 blocks of 9.72
  • Then your two 9.72 blocks staked again in 2014-08-09 and you got a reward of .38 each and split your blocks in a total of four blocks with about 5 HBN each.
  • So you have now came back in 2017-06-16 and so far have staked tow out of your four blocks receiving 28 reward for each stake. So you still have 2 more coming at some point!

Thx! I see two more with high priority in inputs so now that all makes sense!

Question for you... have you thought about partnering with one of the exchanges through the charity portion of this coin? Instead of having to pay them BTC, maybe they would host a node split staking a fund for charity, and a fund for running the node. Might be worth at least asking them.
Daemonfox that is a great idea, was part of my initial vision.  I would like to strengthen the network, the wallet, and the exchange rate first before I would try to pursue that. Time is also a factor, so I would need additional help from the community to help gain the traction we need.

Let's start simple... I think someone posted a bit back that most of these exchanges were asking for at least .5 BTC for adoption onto the exchange. At Cryptopia prices, .5 BTC of HBN from the sell board is 127551.02040816 HBN. ~125K HBN is probably a decent target to start with for a possible crowd funded charity stake node.

What would the expected stake over a year be on 125K HBN?

Awsome rig, dude, do you use 2 psu 1600w for this rig? And can you share what kind of MOBO you use please?

2 x EVGA 1300 G2 PSU
1 x EVGA 1200 P2 PSU

Note that I just used what I had on hand, 3 x 1200W PSU's would do the job.

Motherboard is SMC X9DRX-F with 2 x Intel E5-2620 CPU's and 8 x 8GB DDR3 ECC RAM modules.

I will assume this means some sort of massive or even double open air rack setup and not closed RM chassis?

I have been shopping for a board like that to run in a RM 2U and run risers to a set of 4Us, above and below, with 8 GPUs each.

If you are up to it... I would love to know your full specs and how it is arranged.

any eta on running a zen node with windows?

I'd imagine that's a pretty low priority. You might want to brush up on Linux.

If zend.exe and zen-cli.exe are compiled off the same code as the github source with node support, then it should be and directions for the Linux guide are a few pages back that could be adapted.

Would be nice if dev would confirm that the code is also in the exe and not just in the git repo for Linux, or if you must compile yourself to get a Win node..

Made a ARDR Deposit without adding a Message text. Did open a ticket. Do i really have to wait 10 or more days to get solved the problem ?
Why they need a message included when i deposit a coin. Polo only has a NXT adress to deposit ARDR.
i wanted to avoid Polo since i have open ticket over 14 days without any response, same thing here.

Huge user explosion to exchanges... growing pains... even Coinbase had downtime this week... take it as a sign of positive growth. They have BOTH stated their request log is overrun.
