BTC-E     HAS  VISA & PAYPAL LOGO, can you fund with these? if so I don't see an option to do so.
You can deposit to btc-e using your credit card by using the liqpay website/app. I heard that it usually only takes a few hours.

bitcoin-24.com - SEPA Bank wire (1-2 days)
From their website: "With giropay you can instantly deposit from most banks in Germany Your deposit will be instantly available for trade on Bitcoin-24."

liqpay is not an option right now, or I am a dumbass maybe both...
82  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Gox down completely on: April 11, 2013, 10:51:24 PM
Oh for the love of God, just stop using Gox.

There are other fucking exchanges, y'know. I haven't ever used Gox.

A-fucking-men

fuck gox, and fuck monopolies. Use the other exchanges, they are better anyway.

83  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to buy new bitcoin with currency 4/11/13 (can you do it without gox?) on: April 11, 2013, 10:48:07 PM
it is BULLSHIT.

I snuck an order in yesterday but definitely didn't get it timed the way I wanted to get the price I wanted because I had to sit at my fucking computer refreshing for over an hour before a miraculous window of opportunity opened up to get some coins.

I am pissed at Bitinstant right now.  Spent a LOT of time researching other ways to fund BTC purchases.  I am not thrilled with the idea of having cash sitting in an account, especially with all the stories of gox and btw-e getting hacked... hence the appeal to BitInstant, especially when prices where going up so fast that it was worth getting fucked on the fees since it was better than waiting a week and getting coins at 2-3x the price.

Now it looks like I need to leave money somewhere. I am thinking btc-e since I like their trading options for litecoin and terra. Fuck Gox. I don't like the forced monopoly that has been created and Bitinstant forcing you to send money to gox as the only option to buy is FUCKING BULLSHIT.

Anyway, I'll stop venting, as I would like this thread to serve as a resource to people looking to buy.

Hit me with info people. Where else can you buy, what are the methods? Maybe this can become a sticky but at least it could be a great resource for people to save them from having to research 15 websites.

FYI... BitInstant allows depositing directly to a bitcoin address.  You don't have to deposit into gox.

It doesn't allow that option currently. Check it out.  When you go into the "pay to" box the ONLY option is MtGox
85  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to buy new bitcoin with currency 4/11/13 (can you do it without gox?) on: April 11, 2013, 09:38:29 PM
The rather fucking annoying conclusion that I am coming to is that there is absolutely no fucking way to buy Bitcoins without already having money in an online bitcoin trading account and there is no way to fund an account in less than 3-4 days....rrrrrggh
Sometimes you can do it. On good days, Bitinstant can get dollars into your Mt Gox account, and LocalTill can get dollars into your Bitfloor account within about half an hour.

Unfortunately "good days" means the days in which demand is low, also known as "only on the days you don't desperately want to add dollars to your trading account right away".

Today just ins't a good day then.

Icing on the cake- MtGox froze my account for (failed login attempts)

I hate Gox. I hate it even more that it seems like we are being forced to do business there.
The MTGox monopoly has to go, it is against what Bitcoin stands for....

If someone is able to explain an option that I am not aware of that is working now it would make me really happy. If it works I will send you a tip.

89  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to buy new bitcoin with currency 4/11/13 (can you do it without gox?) on: April 11, 2013, 08:33:55 PM
Can I use MTGOX to move currency somewhere else to buy bitcoin and litecoin?

as in Bitinstant > MtGox> BTC-E

will gox send a voucher or a code.... or can gox send USD to another of these sites?
90  Economy / Trading Discussion / How to buy new bitcoin with currency 4/11/13 (can you do it without gox?) on: April 11, 2013, 08:14:54 PM
I am not a fan of Gox. Don't trust it, read too many bad things... so, what options are there? Please help me out, I will update the OP to be an up to date reference. If you know more about any of these sites or can explain better, post and I will try to keep the OP as accurate as possible.

**I am personally trying to buy some more bitcoins on our current discount sale, if there is a way to do so with Ca$h or credit, or instantly with a bank wire please let me know. I would rather not wait 3-4 days for my money to be available.

BTCTC Site .............how you can fund your account

Bitinstant   Currently allowing funds to MtGox or to a wallet, doesn't allow to wallet if gox is down
**When gox was down, will only send funds to a MTGOX account
(so they must send btc out of a gox account)
BTC-E     HAS  VISA & PAYPAL LOGO, can you fund with these? if so I don't see an option to do so.
BTC-E Codes (can you get these instantly for cash anywhere?)
OKPAY ** (which doesn't accept USD)
Bitinstant (which will only send funds to MTGOX)
interkassa- not in English. I have a google translated page up, but haven't fine tooth combed it,
               ???anyone familiar with interkassa?
Do they take USD, or credit cards as payment?
               Do they send bitstamp codes?

BitStamp Needs to be funded by bitstamp code

Vircurex funded through vouchX which is through AurumXchange

Aurum Exchange-  you can't wire funds until account is verified  (I will update with how long my verification takes)

bitcoin-24.com - SEPA Bank wire (1-2 days)

localbitcoins.com

Bitfloor           takes cash deposits at Bank of America branches (in theory, I cant get their site open)

Money transfer Sites

Dwolla-    Can wire funds with verified account, takes 3-4 days (in writing, not confirmed yet)

Interkassa- not in English. I have a google translated page up, but page is not english.
                    Anyone know the deal?
I am not comfortable making a financial transaction in a language I don't know, so this is out for me.

Aurum Exchange-  you can't wire funds until account is verified  (I will update with how long my verification takes)

** Is there anywhere that you can buy bitcoin or codes/vouchers with paypal or visa?

** What main sites am I missing? (I know there are a bunch)

Feel free to add, correct etc.....I will update

Thanks
S.D.

Since it seems like the thing to do, I am going to BTCump the $hit out of this thread when bitcoin hits $1000 and again at any other major milestones.

Hope you feel cool now, there is no feeling quite as reassuring as patting one's self on the back, is there?

PS. Plenty of folks on here believe in BTC long term. I do not expect this journey (or any other) to occur without any bumps in the road.

and with all new circumstances come opportunity....

Up down up down.

Everyone's right at some point in time.

Fucking awesome post.

Some people decide to be dicks about it, others debate things like gentlemen, well said good person of the interweb!
93  Economy / Service Discussion / Yo Bitinstant guy- what in the f is going on? on: April 11, 2013, 04:29:56 PM
Yankee 5, right?

Why is bitinstant not working?

Why can one only send funds to Mtgox, which is shut down?

Why can't I send funds to my bitcoin wallet?

Why can't I send funds to a voucher (to use btw-e, etc)Huh

WOOOOOOOEEEEEEEE!!!!   Grin

Up and running!   Really glad I built it myself.  I enjoyed the process and now feel a stronger bond with my machine as well as a newfound sense of comfort and accomplishment in an area that was previously quite mysterious to me.

It's 4:20 am, so bedtime for me, tomorrow I'll install windows and start mining.  Thanks everyone for the help!

A few questions-

There are only two slots on the power supply that are the right size for the 7950, should I daisy chain the next two cards? That seems problematic to me.

Is crossfire the way to go with the 7950s? Does that just mean that I plug them into the mobo and power just like the one that is in there and then I hook up that little crossfire link dealy? Is there something more to that?

Once I am up and running (windows installed etc), any advice on checking to see that everything is running optimally? Where can I find out the mhash/s that my rig is producing?

(sorry for all the newbie questions... and apologies if some of this has been discussed here already. I am reading and researching like mad and getting my hands dirty and all that, so hopefully soon I'll be answering the questions and I won't need to ask so many.)
95  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: New Rig- PLEASE let me know if I need to change anything (I'm a newbie!) on: April 11, 2013, 04:23:29 AM
I have 1 7950 in there, 2 more should be arriving in the store tomorrow.

Which slots do I put them in and how do I connect them all.

What does crossfire mean and do I want to do that or not?

96  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hate to say it but.. on: April 10, 2013, 08:54:15 PM
fuck selling, all I want to do is buy (too late now, I really wanted to buy at 120) and fucking bitinstant will only send funds to mtfucking gox....

fuck
97  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you people insane ? on: April 10, 2013, 08:47:27 PM
I would imagine the people who get hurt on this are the idiots who tried to jump on the bandwagon.

Bitcoin peeps should be smart enough to

A) realize the bitcoin will rebound, which is is doing, like crazy right now
B) not panic sell  (let the traders who just got here take the beating)
C) Don't leave your coins in a market with a market price sell order and no stop order

Seeking advice on good tutorial videos, I am digging around, but maybe someone knows better than me where to look....

The part I am most concerned with is plugging everything in correctly, I really don't want to plug in a power cord to the wrong place and fry a $300+ graphics card.

I have 1 7950 here and two are being sent from another store which I will get today or tomorrow. Can I put the others in later? It seems like that wont be that big of a deal.

I'm going with the cooler master half xm

Plan is to put it together today. I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old that complicate that plan slightly, but the Half XM box is huge so if I let them play with that it may buy me some time...

Thanks for all the help so far.

Probably going to try my hand at putting this BTCeast together tomorrow, wish me luck!!
