Anyone has a working start-many setup? I cannot get mine to work. It says not capable masternode on all mns. I offer a 10 drk bounty for the help (if we can get my mns to work).

I'm past all basic troubleshooting, yet I cannot find why it's not working. :/

I can't see it just yet - how much for membership?

10 drk/year or 100drk/lifetime for individuals

So guys. I put together a site in the last 3-4 days: http://darkcoin.guide

There is close to zero content on it yet (other than the aggregated news), but still I'd like to ask for your input.
Content can easily be added / revised by anyone willing to help, and will be displayed after my confirmation (this is handled in the backend).

Soon it will be possible to add your own questions, which - after being answered by a contributor - will be displayed on the site. Currently this option is not available.

There is a vast amount of information on Darkcoin available in various wikis/blogs/forums, many of which is not up-to-date (talking about insane development speed? well it has its drawbacks ). I thought about collecting them in one place, keeping them updated, and adding answers to other questions as well.

Anyway, if you have any ideas / comments / questions / etc, let me know in a pm.

Separate addresses obviosuly. Each address has 1k DRK.
Generated keys for each masternode, placed them in a masternode.conf (located next to the qt.exe) as described. Entered the appropriate key in the masternodes' darkcoin.conf.

Isn't the .conf file suppose to be in %appdata%     ? not used start-many yet so....

I copied it to both places, just to make sure.. Thanks for the help, I just hope someone who succeeded comes by and points out my mistake Smiley

I do know that when i get a NOT CAPABLE MASTERNODE - I ignore it and start the MN(s) anyway - and I still get paid

I've not used start-many yet so go thru the guide again and double check everything - might have missed something smaill

Did again basically everything. It still doesn't work. One of my masternodes can be seen using "masternode list", the other aren't there. All masternodes say "not capable masternode" when running "masternode debug", even the one that is in the list. What the heck? Cheesy

Anyone running a similar setup?

Huh ETA Huh

What's suppose to be wrong with start-many?

EDIT: according to my soucre(s) there nothing wrong with start-many but I don't have time to research it right now (workin)

I followed this guide:
https://darkcointalk.org/threads/masternode-start-many-guide.2990/

Before running the start-many command masternode debug resulted in "missing input" on all masternodes. After running start-many on local debug resulted in "not capable" on all masternodes.
It is perfectly possible that I messed it up.

You happen to have any idea?

Evan, is there any ETA on the start-many functionality?

To some extent I agree with camo. There is a thin line here. We might limit demand my cutting the supply, hence decreasing liquidity.

""Not enough liquidity!" = "I can't buy as much as cheap as I want!"  Guess what, you want more, you gotta pay... " - no. If people feel the price is unreasonably high their answer is not buying less, but not buying at all, and voting for another currency. Price increase needs TIME. That is a crucial element. Price increase needs to be justified in people's mind, and it has 3 essential elements: social pressure, fundamentals, time. So far we only have one of these semi-complete (still being actively developed), the other two are barely existing. The coin is less then a year old. It needs to be time tested.. So trying to pump the price now can be counter-productive.

But crypto has proven over and over again that it simply cannot be predicted by traditional methods. It might turn out well - or can be a catastrophe. We'll see.

Even though the increased percentage is intriguing, I wholeheartedly agree with oblox - balance is essential.

The amount of MNs will decrease in time anyway as the amount of coins in circulation is increasing. We must also make sure to have enough liquidity in the marketplaces, otherwise the value will stay super volatile.
And the most important thing is to reward the miners as well. Imagine a scenario when ASISs are introduced to x11, with darkcoin having an already small fraction of money as mining reward. This would totally centralize mining imho.

On the positive side more masternodes would decrease the available amount on the market, thereby increasing prices.

It should also be considered that even though there are 900 masternodes, these are maintained by 150-200 person max. vertoe alone runs ~10% of the masternodes, which - no offense - is a risk to consider. The more people own a small amount of drk the better it is for the community. If we increase the masternode numbers, will it mean that new people will start running mns? I highly doubt. Many here would add one more to their mns. From this perspective, the system security wouldn't increase at all, despite the increased number of nodes.

I'd say give it some more time. When the currency is more spread, THEN we MAY increase the %, IFF it will seem beneficial. At the moment it would backfire I think.

Is it enough to update masternodes to .26? Will they still get paid?

If you're going to update now might as well update to .27, you'll get paid by the increasing number of pools that have updated to RC4.

Ah, sry for not being clear. I did already upgrade to .26, just want to know if I it's required to further upgrade to .27. I'll upgrade anyway when .28 or .29 comes out with some fixes.

Updated mn, but I need to verify the amount as it is on a remote client. Downloaded the 10.x client for the home pc, are there any settings I need to pay attention to when starting the masternode?

Amount of drk to keep anonymized should be 0, or how? Should I have installed 9.x? (afaik there is no masternode start command in that)

Currently my client is asking for a password upon startup, which I didn't give yet as I do not want to anonymize the balance.

There is a disable Darksend check box if you are using the qt and it is disabled by default in the daemon.

Thanks. That is disabled by default. So as long as that option is turned off I do not have to worry about the anonymization process?

Hey,

Do I need to update my masternode to .4, or does it get paid even if it's on .2? Cannot update at the moment :/
Thx for the answer.

Also: does the wallet on the masternode get paid, or the remote wallet?

Is there anyone willing to help troubleshooting what's the issue with my masternode? It used to be working fine.... (proof is that I got MN payments)
Now it's not listed on chaeplin's MN lists.

Willing to pay a bit if required.

Have you upgraded to the latest darkcoind?

Sure I did, blockchain is up-do-date as well.

Hi,

Could somebody help me with my masternode issue?

Everything seems to be set up correctly, but it takes forever to find connections, and the log is full of connection timeout messages..

The blockchain is up to date, and its syncronizing (current connection count is 1 after an hour of running the client), I just don't see why connections are dropped. Is it because of incorrect iptables rules?

My masternode cannot be found on the two masternode list sites of chaeplin.. But when retrieving the masternode list in the client I can see my ip as "'1", so it's supposed to be active...

Any ideas? Help in private is appreciated as well.
