ok so i havent been hacked or keylogged ..... I conclude bter is just not trustworthy or have been hacked on thier end . Ive barley logged into bter from my pc , and it also requires a fund password ontop of regular login details ..... how the fuck someone got my login as well as my fund password is beyond me (not fking possible actually) . I dont think its worth fighting or trying to get it back either , Ive sent bter an email telling em all my xcn was sold , then traded for dash and withdrawn ..... Ill let you all know if i even get a reply from them . Has anyone else had any issue like this with bter before?

GET YA XCN OFF BTER NOW HOLY FUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i guess i wont be doing anything with the coins in my wallet for some time cause fuck putting em on bter after this shit ... was actually 548k xcn taken , gone poof thin air . THANKS BTER    yeah all those coins sold last night at 30 sat ... was mine ... WAS Sad

when you run the wallet again, does it sync?

no i was getting the assertion failed popup box upon opening the wallet . Replaced the chain (blocks, trie) with backup from few days ago and its syncing now seems fine again . win10 btw

heres how i upgraded to new wallet in windows 10 from the old wallet and kept all my coins n no issues .. this is not official method but it works good and is a logical method .

1 - sync your old wallet , close it .
2 - rename the cryptonite folder in app data to somethign else say "cryptoniteisgood" whateva u want rly .
3 - install the newer cryptonite wallet .. let it open ... then close it ... (it wont install over the top of the old one as u renamed the directory)
4 - go to old wallet directory u renamed and copy contents .
5 - paste that into the newer crypronite directory
6 - open new wallet and yeeew its now upgrade . synced and all my coins are there Smiley

i backed up everything on my old wallet as a saftey measure as well but it was not needed . it was smooth sailing for me and ive had no issues ... if this method does not work ... then there is another issue that must have already preexisted before the upgrade .

hope that can help any noobs like me Smiley

tested new wallet here fairly extensively with no issues . good work pallas and those who helped . xcn has the fastest transactions ive seen , damn good coin now let it blossom to its true potential Smiley

pallas (and a few select people that it was sold to exclusivley) have a private miner that goes over 3x times the speed of public ones available on same hardware ( you said 40 megahash on a 1070 right pallas? ) , so yeah that is his incentive , if yas read the old thread youd have known , i dont think its a scam at all though , its a legit good coin . Mining it is not really a fair game however .
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - NEW THREAD! | 1st mini-blockchain coin | M7 PoW on: March 10, 2017, 05:53:30 AM
Tried sync from scratch, gave up after 4 days; downloaded block data, but... not syncing. How is it so difficult to get syn done?? quite frustration ...

if took the time to read the whole forum youd have noticed that thats the main issue that is currently being addressed by pallas and others with the know how . right now at its current state you CANNOT sync from scratch...... you wasted your time trying but you woulda known if you read the whole forum too ;p
Now.....  go back a page or two where pallas shared a synced chain , just put the blocks folder , peers.dat and trie.dat into the right directory over the existing one your trying to sync and you should be in business .
Id least skim read the forum and youll learn a bit about why it doesnt sync from scratch and whats being done and youll also learn its wise to backup your blockchain every now n then  Smiley

Who sells a large amount of XCN in Bter? XCN is always being sold. Total sales have exceeded the total amount of XCN. Was it attacked by 51%?

total 24 hour vol on bter this moment was actually .992 btc .... what u trying to say , u mean over a large amount of time?
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCN] Cryptonite - NEW THREAD! | 1st mini-blockchain coin | M7 PoW on: March 06, 2017, 07:01:03 PM
thanks heaps , it rly was a wierd thing , i tried a few diff blockchain snapshots i backed up myself and BOTH of em would basically sync backwards and end up at 3 days behind on headers (both snapshots were more recent than 3 days tho!) . ive now tried a backup from the 2nd this month (one from longer than 3 days ago) and it seems to be syncing from about 5500 blocks behind now , what i did notice tho is that transactions in my transaction list had weird dates that wernt even in the right order when id sort it by date (everything past a point was not verified by a green tick but was just a blue block in that section that would have the green tick . I think i may have possibly forked on my solo mining attempt the last few days? , it seemed to be working fine and i had been switching from solo to pool....and all working good.... i mined in pool overnight and opened wallet this morning tho and it was broken like this .... i could see my most recent transaction showing was from 6am this morning , but it said 3 days behind on headers . true wigout this one , totally new issue . ill let you know if it finishes its sync successfully or if it wigs again . I have a feeling theres a chasnce it will cause the last snapshot i tried seemed to be syncing at bout 3000 blocks to go then i looked at it 2 mins later and it say 3 days behind on headers lol , ahhhhhh ><
cheers , if this one syncing now doesn't work , will do ^^ . upon further inspection of this situation of mine , i do conclude that i did in fact fork off from the main chain at some point . i could provide a few screenshots of my scrambled transactions in the wallet if it helps , it appears every transaction after 3 blocks i mined solo (payouts from suprnova) was there in the transaction list but the dates were in the wrong order lol and they were not confirmed . The wierdest thing about this whole thing is that i had my wallet open this morning like 6 hours ago , it was synced and everything seemed to be fine ...... for some reason the wallet auto closed itself (it was there open and then it wasnt) ... i was like huh wtf wierd and didnt think much of it , but yeah sincethat moment BAM when i reopen wallet it did this 3 days headers behind thing . im at 4090 blocks behind now on this resync fingers crossed .

ps. If i did fork from main chain , how the hell does that happen im only mining with 24 megahash .

            cheers .

well that older snapshot did in fact sync up fully , just needed to use one older than the 3 day point where it was stuck ... wallet.dat was ok never changed it to get it working again . I really cant make much sense of what happened to be honest . but i did never have this problem till i tried solo mining . so i guess that was the likely cause of it . Thing that rly is wierd , if i did fork why was it still showing payouts from suprnova after that for a while ..... THEN went backwards to 3 days behind and all my transaction where there but not verified ... so damn wierd!!!!!!!!!!! but i am happy its solved and i am a lil more confident that if theres an issue (wierd as it could be) seems to be pretty damn easy to fix , as pallas has mentioned before , keep a backup of your wallet just in case!  Smiley

lol . wish i could help , meantime bter has held there shit together with xcn solidly.... always working... never down and transactions are fast as hell there . So least thats one exchange doing it right .

Perhaps contacting bter and asking them how they've had it working with no issue for so long and what version they have.... qt or deamon etc... might be an idea , they likely also speak the same language as the btc38 staff..... wether one exchange would help another i do not know . Has bter just been lucky to not have issue? or are there server better/more reliable? , these things i can only speculate and even if this suggestion is useless its bout all i can do here till i am more knowledgable in this field .

All i can say as a fair nooby to cryptocurrency , been dabling in it since aug last year , i have done the rounds on many coins ive researched as suitable for my hardware , tried wallets , mining etc (been going for more non mainstream coins) and my fav is xcn , the m7 algo is truly unique , it cant be rented , it cant be smashed out on an asic and xcn is THE ONLY coin i know that uses it . The trimmed blockchain is fantastic , i like being able to backit up and it only take a few 100mb rather than gigs and gigs worth . There is a little more to get ur head around with xcn than with other coins i have tried , but nothing i have not been able to solve through a bit of reading or asking more knowledgable people .

I feel what the coin needs to go next level is just a slightly more user friendly interface on the qt wallet , and all things within it working to satisfy the basic user . For a coin to be succesful i think it needs to be able to be used by anyone that has any basic computer skill and not reserved to those that are very savvy only . If there is anything i can do to help that im capable of , ill be here mateys , cheers Smiley

I hope xcn succeeds further , use it , trade it , get amongst it . Its a goodn!
