81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: November 07, 2017, 10:36:26 PM
Is there any plan to change the ANN thread? It looks pretty cheap now  Lips sealed

Yes, there is. After the launch, that would be part of the marketing effort.

You could try it again in English in the English thread. Google translator doesn't do any favour to your announcement.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [HLM] Helium - Campaign Thread - Bounty Information - HeliumPay.com on: November 07, 2017, 10:30:43 PM
What about helium wallet...when we can download it and get our adress helium??

You can download the wallet just after the network publicly launch. That should happen within a few weeks.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Arctic Coin (ARC), No premine, Evolution over 1 year on: November 07, 2017, 10:29:35 PM
Why did Arcticcoin`s price rise? Something good news had come?

This is the cheapest masternode coin. Cheaper than many other projects without active developer. ArcticCoin has active developers, this rise is just a long overdue correction... And might be something to do with the mobile payment which is coming soon.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: November 07, 2017, 10:24:54 PM
Why is the decred team so silent talking about the POW algorithm and the introduction of ASIC.

I mean how come that a coin which is all about COMMUNITY GOVERNANCE ignores their community?

And why in the hell design an ASIC and put huge effort (and cost) in it if you could instead simply FORK the algo with a COMMUNITY vote to one where ASICs already exist !!!   POLITEIA !!!
They even talk about raising funds for the development of said ASIC but instead with POLITEIA the community could vote to change the algo eg to SHA256 or x11 in the first place and spare us said fundraising ...

And besides that why CORNER the mining to a limited amount of hardware which favors the few ...

And moreover why not delve into a multi algorithm POW phase if you guys so embrace the ASIC abuse ...

I suggest a name change to: Cecred

If you go to the #pow mining in the Decred Slack, there is no other topic for a week than the two ASIC projects. There are lots of info from the correct source.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][tokens] Next generation cryptocurrency trading platform on: November 07, 2017, 10:15:38 PM
I am honestly feel sorry for all the people who "invested" in this project. They are just funding the future lifestyle of the team members as there is absolutely nothing behind the project only a claim for future price increase backed by nothing.... But that is not my problem, the investors will learn a valuable lesson.

89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][tokens] Next generation cryptocurrency trading platform on: November 06, 2017, 06:51:12 AM
I see based on your assumption you want to get 2.5% of the total trading volume from the global trading of cryptocurrencies and estimating a profit of $18 million per year. Now the question is what I will get from this profit as investor or token holder. I didn't see something mentioned to get some kind of share from this profit, am I right ?

Hello NrX,

This DTR token is not a share in the company, project or any direct equity or asset participation. So, you as an investor are not taking any profits. DTR is a future trading fee that is fully payable upfront and which will be collected any time you trade on the Tokens exchange. Tokens platform will not collect fees to run operations, they will be used to purchase DTR which will later be provably burned by a smart contract. As a DTR owner you have a right to have DTR withdrawn at the time of a trade, but you can also decide to sell your rights on the market as DTR will be a tradable token.

tokens

For me, it means, you want to receive $15 million from the community in exchange for your token. You have put an valuation on the token to attract investors, but you can back it with nothing, just hoping for the value to increase.... The investor get no profit, no share, only a promise.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: November 06, 2017, 06:45:06 AM
I've already seen some similar ICO, why are you different?

There is no ICO in Decred.
ICO is scam, people pay a pre-set amount off the market for a promise written on a piece of paper that has not even begun to be developed and which usually will never be.

The funny thing is that these same people often criticize a premine, where devs need to work to make the market value the coins that will serve as their payoff.
All the similar projects you saw there are copies of Decred.

Decred is a project that finances itself through its own mined coins.

With each block 60% of the coins are destined to the POW miners, 30% to the POS miners confirming the POW mining, avoiding that a concentration of hashrate can determine the path of the coin and 10% are destined to the development fund.
At the beggining, a premine was made to finance the currency until the 10% of mining reached a reasonable amount for that.

Contrary to what the fudders say, the premine doesn't go all for the main devs.
8% of the total coins were premined, of these 8%, half were distributed to thousands of people around the world through airdrop.
Of the remaining 4%, about 1% went to the initial development fund, paying for marketing, design and also other devs still leaving an amount that continues in this fund.

Only around 3% were allocated to main devs as payment for all the work done since 2013, including the development of BITCOIN SUITE, which today is responsible for enabling ATOMIC SWAPS and is a fundamental basis for the development of LIGHTNING NETWORK.
Work recognized and consecrated by other currencies devs and also by LN developers.

Ethereum was coded using the bitcoin suite developed by Decred devs.

premine and your airdrop was a fraud i am speaking on behalf of me & several people who got gypped ! :\ Where is the Israeli Bitcoin Cartel behind this?

How can an airdrop be a 'fraud'?
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [HLM] Helium - Campaign Thread - Bounty Information - HeliumPay.com on: November 06, 2017, 06:40:55 AM
A total of 1250 Helium have been allocated to fund all bounty programs. The HeliumPay team reserves the right to modify the rules/requirements of these programs at any time. Great budget for bounty , joined with twitter and facebook campaign thanks

If you just joined, that is a bit late. The bounty campaign finished about 4 weeks ago.

I am a bit confused. Is its a coin with it's own blockchain, or only a token?
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: November 04, 2017, 10:50:20 PM
Where to buy tokens?

Decred is not a token.. It is a coin.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Arctic Coin (ARC), No premine, Evolution over 1 year on: November 04, 2017, 08:19:19 AM
It takes normally about 3 days (between 2 and 4) and you can expect around 3 ARC.
For the first time, it can take a bit longer, as your masternode is the last one in the queue.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: November 04, 2017, 08:17:15 AM
Need updates here.  Im sure this project is on point but lack of communication makes it smell fishy.  I have a tiny fear that these guys just bought a bunch of spr early on and this whole thing was a manufactured pump and dump for spr.

I don't think it's a scam, coins101 has a very good reputation. But yes, the communication is a disaster. It's only after someone here raises a big stink that we get any progress information. I can't understand what's so hard about writing a bi-weekly update, even if you have a day job. This is especially galling as they claim to do "Agile Development" in the ANN post. Now I work as an agile coder and frequent and timely communication is one of the top obligations of an agile team. Just as a reminder, there's an agile manifesto, and it says (among other things; emphasis mine):

Our highest priority is to satisfy the customer
through early and continuous delivery
of valuable software.

Business people and developers must work
together daily
throughout the project.

Honestly thinking about dumping all HLM once they can be traded and get out of this. Should have bought into Crown - team is also a split-off from SPR and they have a working masternode coin and service nodes and all the nice stuff.

DEVS: Please, you are doing your own project a huge disservice claiming Agile when you rarely communicate, your github is empty and you have no MVP to show. I bought into this not least because of your reputation and the Agile claim (which is rare enough). I confess I am losing hope by what I see instead. At least strike the Agile claim, it rubs it in every time I read it.

This this this. Really undermines the confidence in the team when they make such claims and completely fail at it right from the get go. Or maybe they're doing 3 month sprints.  Grin

As someone who has signed this manifesto since 2005 and worked on various Agile projects. I like to say it is not quite the same for this Project as these "Customers" have no feedback into the backlog or requirements and are really not owed any update as they are not "stakeholders" in the sense they do not pay for the Project nor have they determined what Helium should be or is. Updates are usually given to Customers to manage the backlog or establish priorities.

When Helium is launched and the governance is in place and you as a Masternode holder has made a vote on a Project, maybe then you can demand updates because you determined what should be done as a Stakeholder.

Helium uses the Agile method of development does not mean they should be accountable to everyone. Accountability is to Stakeholders. If Google where to design a open source tool for everyone or anyone, using Agile methods does that give everyone off the street a right to an update?  I think not. When you pay the piper you call the tune, until then sit tight and relax.

"When you pay the piper you call the tune" - I m not sure of your situation, but I am not having a free ride here, I paid my way for HLM, it didn't just appeared in my account for free of charge.

The updates are important. That is the part of PR which make or break a project/company/organisation. There are many other project, many other opportunity. Why would a customer/stakeholder stay with one which leave them in the dark? People want to know what happen with their money. Helium is a good and promising project, but I am a bit worried it will be killed by the inadequacy of PR/communication in the medium run.

Or it can die due to overconfidence. Community make a project swim or sink.
97  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCR] Decred - Community Governance | Bitcoin Devs | Lightning Network on: November 04, 2017, 08:04:09 AM
The Obelisk DCR1, the First Decred (DCR) ASIC Miner looks very interesting to me. I'm really thinking hard about that to order one at the pre-order batch. Maybe this can be very profitable.

Why do you think it will be profitable? Since the D3 arrived, the difficulty of Dash just multiplied enormously.  In the first few days, the payback period was about 18 days, after 6 weeks, it is 500 days due to the increased difficulty.
Is there any reason it will be different with Decred ASIC?
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Only 3 days left!!! on: November 04, 2017, 08:00:27 AM
There isn't enough info here..
Two important question... What do you need your own token apart of upfront reward for yourself and why would an investor buy it?
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ASTRA MISSION on: November 03, 2017, 09:12:10 PM

Animate & Capture the energy of Communities for Scientific Discoveries & Social Truths

Astra Supercomputer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2EbMfVT_v0

Today, there are four emerging computing challenges that require orders of magnitude more computing computer, storage, and networking resources than are currently available. These are:

1. Medical, Scientific, and Humanities Research
2. Public Verification of Information for Trust Machines
3. Big Data Analysis, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence
4. On Demand Edge Computing for Global Sensor Networks

To solve the above computing challenges, we have three options. Either we build large numbers of fast Supercomputers that cost $100 Million a piece or huge Datacenters that cost anywhere from $250 Million to $1 Billion. The third option is to interconnect billions of computing devices through Internet and use their spare computing capacity to solve the above challenges. There are a number of open source „Sharing Networks‟ that interconnect computers. However, these open source „Sharing Networks‟ suffer from three fundamental problems:

1. The Convenience Problem
2. The Market-Seeding Problem
3. The Incentives Problem

Astra‟s first mission is to solve the above three fundamental problems to jumpstart the market for “Online Computer Sharing”. In the second phase, Astra will focus on solving the data-security and guaranteed-performance problems

The Convenience Problem
There are a number of open source „Sharing Networks‟ that interconnect Astra – The Social Supercomputer 8 computers. However, each „Sharing Network‟ requires a complex process of software download, installation, parameter setting, and learning to operate it. Moreover, for each computing resource (CPU, GPU, Storage, and Networking), a user is expected to download and setup separate set of software programs. In addition, the rewards offered by various „Sharing Networks‟ vary with time and location. Also, often the „Networks‟ do not disclose in advance how much a consumer will earn by renting out their spare computing and storage capacity. The blind markets just deposit certain number of tokens in a consumer‟s account after their resources have been consumed. Thus, for maximum profitability consumers are expected to download a number of ‘Sharing Network’ programs on their machines, set them up, and constantly switch among them

The Market-Seeding Problem
The peer-to-peer computer sharing is a brand new market opportunity. Therefore, the next big challenge is how to systematically seed and grow such a market. Seeding the market requires creating an „initial supply‟ of sharable computing resources and an „initial demand‟ in the absence of Capital for upfront investment. Astra is solving these challenges by collaborating with Rewards  Time  Gridcoin Storj Sia Golem Sonm iExec Mysterium IPFS Astra – The Social Supercomputer 9 existing volunteer computing communities and using its native token “STAR” to attract both suppliers and customers.

The Incentives Problem
Once the market is seeded, for its healthy growth we need to persuade millions of people around the world to offer their computing devices on a regular basis. It will require both emotional and economic incentives to change people‟s perception and behavior. The next two chapters discuss the innovative new incentive system that Astra has been designing using Trust Machines

In order to solve the above three problems, Astra offers a unique solution of building a very powerful and yet simple Astra App and later an Astra Community Platform which would bring existing Scientific & Advanced Research Communities together with several other large Outside communities forming a Social Supercomputer. These large and diverse Communities together will be able to harness the Combined Processing Power of the Social SuperComputer for

1. Scientific & Advanced Discoveries, Research
2. Verifying Social Truths & maintaining Social Trust machines

Thus making the process sustainable in the longer term through emotional & financial incentives.

If I am not mistaken, you are issuing only another ERC20 token. Why do you need $15 million for this?
