81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC helps you test if he truly loves you or simply your money. on: April 11, 2017, 01:33:13 AM
That's not really a litecoin specific thing.. Stuff like that would likely happen with any investment that suddenly doubles in price.

Sad that people would do this simply for money, but I guess thats the nature of the beast.
it happens to every coin? Wow, it's the first time i ever heard of such a story. and i feel both sad and kinda happy for this girl.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC helps you test if he truly loves you or simply your money. on: April 11, 2017, 01:29:37 AM
litecoin has always been active and it has been around for nearly as long as bitcoin. and many even call it silver to bitcoin's gold.
it is obvious and normal that these days the news and activity about litecoin is increased and that is because of the price rise, but litecoin is one of those altcoins that has a good developers team and has been keeping a very good track record and price over all these years.

the USD value has actually been very stable for a long time.

and it may be hard for you to believe but it will never replace bitcoin. but it may become big to overcome all other altcoins though.

p.s. i don't find anything particularly interesting about that article Smiley
Ethereum is taking new moves, do you think it will take place of btc? Or u believe btc will ever be overtaken?
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / LTC helps you test if he truly loves you or simply your money. on: April 10, 2017, 08:48:37 AM
Litecoin has been pulling all resources trying to overtake bitcoin, writing to miners, convincing the importance of SegWit. I have no idea if it can really shine when SegWit activated, but it already overshadowed other altcoins by becoming the touchstone of true love. The story is really funny, kinda thought-provoking as well. A girl named Joanna posted” All of a sudden my ex wants to get back with me, but I realized he peeked at my account with 50K litecoins. Garbage!” Everything you need to know about this story: http://news.8btc.com/litecoin-the-touchstone-of-true-love
84  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-04-07] ViaBTC Raises ¥20 Million in Series-A for New Exchange Business on: April 07, 2017, 09:53:35 AM
ViaBTC, the world’s TOP5 Bitcoin mining pool, announced that it has closed series A funding of 20 million CNY. The investment was led by Bitmain, a leading manufacturer of bitcoin mining hardware and saw participation of private investors “who are not ready to reveal themselves now.”
The Shenzhen-based company stated that it will utilize the finances from the funding to initially launch a CNY/BTC exchange in around two months with a USD/BTC exchange to follow.
Sara Ouyang, Chief Operating Officer at ViaBTC, revealed that:
“The CNY exchange will be based in China and provide no margins or futures, but the USD exchange will be based offshore and will provide margins and futures as permitted by relevant regulations.”

85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists? on: April 07, 2017, 01:52:19 AM
On March 8th, Cheollima Civil Defense(CCD) released a video on its website claiming:” Han Sol, the son of Kim Jong Nam, and two other family members were met quickly and relocated to safety. “ And they receive bitcoin for financial support. This is something nice to do. BUt what if bitcoin be used to support some bad organizations, even terrorists? Is this already happening?

We cannot control others on how they will use bitcoin just like we cannot control people on how to use fiat. Since bitcoin itself has its value, this type of usage is inevitable. Since you asked if bitcoin is used to support terrorist or any bad organization, I will tell you that nothing will change. Did anyone asked "what if they use fiat to do bad?", obviously fiat and bitcoin are the same at some point but no one questions the usage of fiat as far as I know.

Dude, you placed a date in your post

so why are you asking if this is already happening? Isn't obvious that it is already happening?
uh,  CCD is not terrorists. ......It helps to fight North Korea's dictatorship. i mean if btc can be used for good, it can also be used for bad.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists? on: April 06, 2017, 09:00:35 AM
how could u not buy this story? didn't they release a video on You tube?

Yeah, I am willing to buy the story. How much is it?
Since your name also starts with D as i do, i'd say 1 DOLLAR. Plus u speak really nice. seriously, u really think this is something that will not happen? What i am wondering is if bitcoin be widely used for bad things, news would flood in and bitcoin price might drop. That's my whole point.
87  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists? on: April 06, 2017, 08:52:24 AM
They are already using fiat for their financial needs. Bitcoin does not directly enable them to do more.

It could make certain transactions easier though, but the same goes for any new technology. Bad people can always use it for their purposes as well. Does this mean we should stop technology development?
Here comes the question: if bitcoin be used for evil purposes, will we be able to stop them? And who will lead the effort to stop them?
88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be used to support terrorists? on: April 06, 2017, 05:49:43 AM
Who can verify the news is factual? Or simply made up?

I have a member that was the head of a major mafia gang with global network. He managed the financials of this gang and at one time he was responsible to launder as much as 20% of the entire supply of Bitcoin available. It was no easy task. He had to use various means to spread (sort of) the Bitcoin allocation to various investment assets under the radar. Or course some of the means to do so includes using the services of localbitcoins.com and some unknown Bitcoin exchanges. Others include buying Bitcoin tokens from Chinese mining companies using Bitcoin itself. Today the gang has no more Bitcoin left. All successfully laundered into fiat. Do you believe this story? Who can verify as facts?

Even I can write fake news.

And by the way, did I tell you of a friend that is the step daughter of the ex-Phillipino prime minister? Apparently she is in ownership of some half a ton of pure gold bars.

90  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who will lead the global effort to reinvent the world through bitcoin? on: April 06, 2017, 01:26:45 AM
i know IBM and Nasdaq has been working on blockchain for years. But now as China is joining the race, i wonder will China be the world leader in this area or Japan who acknowledged bitcoin as a legal currency.

Well both china and japan is strong and have the quality to lead such a thing, but one thing in my mind that im sure, if either japan nor china will reinvent or acknowledge bitcoin, i will still used it for good, because i dont really matter if what country is leader specifically china or japan, as long as it can be used for everyone

Japan and China just copy stuff... real invention will come from Europe or Australia, Canada etc. Even in the USA, people are a bit too afraid of the governent.
but the hard fact is that Europe or USA will not invest much in this area, they've got a lot to deal with. China, however, seems to do whatever it can to lead this blockchain race. PBOC, SSE, Alibaba... Alibaba started a university to help people do biz online. And now Guiyang launched a college to train more blockchain experts. Guiyang is a city in China that issued the first whitepaper about blockchain development)

I guess they are just trying to cut out all loopholes for margin trading and money laundering.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / PBOC Tougher on Margin Trading? on: March 31, 2017, 06:04:57 AM
Huobi’s BitVC is going to close CNY spot and USD spot trading at 12:00 April 1st (GMT+8) due to company business adjustments. And they ask clients to convert fiat asset into bitcoin or litecoin and return margin before 12:00 April 1st. Does this mark another round of tough policies on margin trading by PBOC?

94  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Chinese Bitcoin Exchanges Implement Video Verification to Resume Withdrawals on: March 31, 2017, 03:24:17 AM
lol why is there so many people thinking that Bitcoin is anonymous? A regular Bitcoin spender will immediately notice that his/her transactions aren't as anonymous as the public thinks it is.
For Bitcoin to be anonymous, the person that is using Bitcoin would have to bend around the rules for that to happen, so that means the person should have a little more than basic Computer Knowledge to make it anonymous.
The regular Bitcoin spender wouldn't care if the Chinese exchanges ask for video verification because they don't have much to hide. They just want Bitcoins.
so you a r with video confirmation? but don't u think it's like a never ending game? what would be the next move?
95  Economy / Exchanges / The Return of Crypotocurrency Withdrawals? on: March 31, 2017, 01:44:29 AM
Huh TWO of the "big three" Chinese bitcoin exchanges Huobi and OKCoin are implementing video verification. Sure, it is so much better that on-site verification. If everything works out well, can we expect bitcoin withdrawals soon?
96  Economy / Exchanges / Chinese Bitcoin Exchanges Implement Video Verification to Resume Withdrawals on: March 30, 2017, 10:08:31 AM
first, they asked for personal information, explanations of the sources of the funds to be withdrawn and intended withdrawal destinations. Now they want video verification. Huobi and OKCoin are implementing video confirmation to comply the strict PBOC's AML and KYC guidelines, expecting the return of bitcoin withdrawals soon.
BUT Don't you think this is too much to ask for?
Where is the anonymity we've been talking about?
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would be bitcoin's final obituary? on: March 30, 2017, 09:47:42 AM
this thing can't die because you can fork and fork always if something bad happen, you can create a new bitcoin from scratch over and over again, all the altcoin are bitcoin itself, a copy with different idea, aren't they? for me bitcoin is truly immortal and unkillable
so basically, you mean bitcoin is just a concept, or more accurately, a spirit? But i don't think all altcoins are bitcoin itself. when bitcoin was first born, it's more of an experiment instead of a means of making money. now most people buy altcoin just dreaming of getting rich.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would be bitcoin's final obituary? on: March 30, 2017, 01:41:47 AM
final obituary will read:

bitcoin passed on its love and desire to its sidechain siblings, staying in their chained hearts forever.
though bitcoin locks are always there with us,
we must remember that life goes on and although node users will not feel or touch bitcoin ever again,
there will always have a memory of their bitcoin LTXO.
Jesus! do you seriously mean it? you sure a hard fork is imminent?
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What would be bitcoin's final obituary? on: March 29, 2017, 10:10:56 AM
Mom often says that:Nothing is immortal, just live in the moment. If this is true, what would be bitcoin's final death?
(i don't wanna see it happen, but let's be honest, ever since bitcoin was born, it has been rumored to die.)
news says at least 100 times! http://news.8btc.com/bitcoins-final-obituary

Everything forks eventually; religions, governments, species,...etc. Conflict is natural and could force innovation. Choose a side and embrace it because there's little choice left.
What exactly do u mean by " There's little choice left."
