81  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How will VR influence society? on: September 24, 2018, 03:17:03 PM
i think the experiences of this world are potentially much more intense then VR ever can be.

the rich will live in this world and the poor will live in VR

It will be a means of allowing the poor to not feel deprived of incredible experiences, I agree, but I do think the rich will take part as well. Money can't buy everything. Once the experiences are indistinguishable from real life I think everyone will use it.

Eat right, get enough sleep and take up a hobby that requires a large amount of patience. Practice makes perfect.
83  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there any chance of having one global currency? on: September 20, 2018, 05:07:02 PM
I think there's a good chance that digital payments using crypto will replace fiat, but as life becomes more digital and AI is running the show things will cost much less and money won't hold the same value that it does today.
84  Other / Politics & Society / How will VR influence society? on: September 20, 2018, 04:57:25 PM
VR's uses are growing outside of gaming. Walmart is putting 17,000 VR headsets in its stores for training.

https://www.theverge.com/2018/9/20/17882504/walmart-strivr-vr-oculus-go-headset-training-shipments

It's still the beginning, but if these types of things improve the implications are pretty huge. People can work from anywhere, hangout with people on opposite sides of the globe, not have to pay all that much to experience whatever they want. Only 5 more years and we can feel like we're going to the moon with Mr. Maezawa!

How do you think extremely high-quality immersive experiences will affect society as a whole?
85  Other / Off-topic / Re: what is the Causes of Depression? on: September 20, 2018, 04:32:31 PM
A big cause of depression that a lot of people ignore is the state of the body. You can't have a healthy mind without a healthy body.
86  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are there good sides in a war? on: September 17, 2018, 05:09:14 PM
It's often hard to see it when it's happening, but there is a good side to everything, even bad things. The fact that the financial crisis of 2008 happened helped bitcoin come into existence. The ever-growing mistrust of governments is making an even more pronounced trend towards decentralization happen, putting more power into the hands of the people and making the world a less-corrupt place.
87  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why are some countries still so rich and others so poor on: September 17, 2018, 04:46:25 PM
The same reason people are rich or poor: a combination of circumstance and ver good or very bad decisions. Like usually attracts like, hence stereotypes of populations and countries accomplishing everything or nothing.
88  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is School for? on: September 17, 2018, 04:30:33 PM
School teaches you how to follow directions and not think for yourself, making you a nice slave, eager to participate in the system based on consumerism. Teachers even tell you how to interpret a book, which should be subjective. School is detrimental to your education because it pries you away from experience for a minimum of 12 years. Experience is the one true teacher.
89  Economy / Economics / Re: stupidity is so close to poverty on: September 13, 2018, 04:56:08 PM
stupidity is so close to poverty, do you agree with such a phrase?
if it yes, means the poor are the fools.
I want to know your opinion.  Grin Grin

I think it has more to do with "nurture" than "nature." Some people have access to stimulating educations and nice lifestyles out of luck, others just don't.

This makes those in poverty focus more on solving their own basic problems (eating and having a roof over their head), rather than helping to solve other people's problems, which makes people rich. They have the hood mentality ingrained in their minds-living paycheck to paycheck, making them desperate and sometimes dangerous, hence the rampant crime and horrible news stories.

Sleep enough. There's been studies that creatine increases IQ as well as iodine. Sugar hinders brain function. The supplement bacopa is also good for this.
91  Other / Off-topic / Re: Future of Technology ?? on: September 11, 2018, 04:20:05 PM
I think it's pretty evident what the future of technology is based on current trends. We already spend the majority of our lives on the internet, which is, in many ways, a "virtual world." Once decentralization, AI, VR and other forms of immersive reality evolve further I'm sure we'll be living out our lives in virtual worlds to achieve a better quality of life and keep the earth somewhat sustainable.
92  Economy / Economics / Re: Starting With Nothing in Bitcoin on: September 11, 2018, 03:36:02 PM
Knowledge is power and experience is the most effective way to gain knowledge. Good old trial and error. Your level of success depends on your ability to risk it all for an ideal, to sacrifice, and to never give up after experiencing loss, which is the hardest part. The fight against being a pawn in a corporate prison, which is basically modern slavery, is my motivation. The whole movement towards decentralization and crypto investing are just two modern developments that makes a lifestyle centered around freedom possible.
93  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why does this world need decentralization so much on: September 11, 2018, 03:21:16 PM
The world needs decentralization because humans are inherently untrustworthy. We can't help ourselves, and will advance ourselves at the expense of others given the chance. Blockchain renders everything transparent, keeping things clean and good old value becoming the be-all-end-all of any transaction.

This is happening quickly thanks to the digitization of the world and the internet. Now even general populations, not only the educated elite, are aware of the hypocrisy and BS coming out of politicians' mouths because everything is recorded and thoroughly analyzed.
94  Economy / Economics / Re: Life with out money ? on: September 07, 2018, 03:16:33 PM
Right now we can't. Life without money is miserable and stressful. We live in a resource-scarce society, making things valuable, meaning they can only be exchanged for value. This will hopefully change as the world becomes more virtual and digitized.
95  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who is the most powerful man in the world? on: September 07, 2018, 03:01:59 PM
I can tell you who will be the most powerful man in the world- Whoever programs AI.
96  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are terrorists only muslim in religion? on: September 07, 2018, 02:47:18 PM
The stereotypical image of a terrorist is usually a muslim, but terrorists are everywhere. They're people who are willing to act on violent ideas. Racist US cops, bullied kids who shoot up their high school (making bullies indirect causes of "terrorists"). Everyone has their breaking point and some are more naturally inclined to solve their problems with violence, causing death to the innocent. Education, culture and surrounding plays a huge part in this. Terrorists are simply products of their environment.
97  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we must study Economics at University? on: September 07, 2018, 02:32:47 PM
Economics is one of the most useful things to understand. It can be applied to investment decisions, business decisions, and tons of other aspects of life. You eventually come to understand that economics controls everything and has throughout all of human history.

You don't necessarily have to study it at university to thoroughly understand it. University just forces you to stay disciplined and on track with your progress. Reading the economist cover to cover every week would be good, along with applying your knowledge in the real world. Trial and error is, and always will be, the best teacher.

The courses at university, however, could be irrelevant considering the drastic changes happening in the economic arena with AI rearing its head and other technologies entirely changing the paradigm of value. Depends on the quality of the professors.
98  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to make a girl fall for you? on: September 04, 2018, 09:29:24 PM
Either have a stellar income, be extremely funny and interesting, or be extremely good looking. A combination of both, you have nothing to worry about. All three, you are a God.
99  Economy / Economics / Capitalism will make socialist ideals a reality on: September 04, 2018, 09:20:09 PM
Socialist countries may have happier citizens because their basic needs are covered and they wouldn't starve if they're out of the job, but you don't see much innovation coming out of these countries. Apple, Google, Facebook, Amazon-these are products of capitalism. People are abundantly awarded for their work because don't have to pay astronomical income taxes in capitalist countries.

The way I see it, this process is now on its way to making socialist values a reality. "Equality of the people" is among the most prioritized.

The latest technology being driven by financial gain seems to be AI and VR/AR technology. This will be the great equalizer of the people. Things will become much cheaper to produce, and once-exclusive experiences will be available to everyone for very cheap. All things are on their way to becoming accessible to all people in the developed world, due to the inherently low cost of digital assets.

Thoughts on this?
100  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about Unpaid Debts? on: September 04, 2018, 05:05:44 PM
Shouldn't lend money to people in the first place, family or not. Usually ends bad, from my experience. Good luck trying to get paid back..
