The world needs decentralization because humans are inherently untrustworthy. We can't help ourselves, and will advance ourselves at the expense of others given the chance. Blockchain renders everything transparent, keeping things clean and good old value becoming the be-all-end-all of any transaction.
This is happening quickly thanks to the digitization of the world and the internet. Now even general populations, not only the educated elite, are aware of the hypocrisy and BS coming out of politicians' mouths because everything is recorded and thoroughly analyzed.
