28 million is a lot but it can still double or triple in number very soon. There are over 7 billion people on planet Earth and only 21 million BTC ever to be mined.
I think the true value in bitcoin is educating others how they can obtain some for themselves and what they can use it for (aside from a store of value and long term investment asset). We need to create more online stores and apps which accept Bitcoin as a currency. Many web hosting platforms already accept Bitcoin as payment and so I think we still have a lot more room to grow before Bitcoin is used by everybody including your grandma.

This is all very true and is why both Gold and Bitcoin are valued so highly by investors. Gold has been around since ancient times and people have always fallen back on it as a true store of value, especially when times get rough. Bitcoin is another asset which the people in some countries like Venezuela and Uganda have seriously used to get themselves out of times of crisis.
As an investor, I think it is seriously important to learn about how money works and where it originally came, so that you can truly understand the value of Bitcoin now and in the future.

Binance has a lot of cryptocurrency pairs so I use it too for some of the lesser-known coins. The platform also has excellent security and enforces KYC measures.
Based on some of the responses here I think I will try out Huobi exchange soon.

Today there are hundreds of Bitcoin exchanges in existence. Exchanges operate like a bank but for cryptocurrency. Before using one you will have to register for an account and upload identity documents to verify yourself.
Personally, I use Coinbase and Paxful as my main exchanges as they are both user-friendly and hold a large stash of cryptocurrency in their vaults for the safety of their users.
For those of you around the globe, what is your favorite Bitcoin exchange?
|
|
|
You can sign up for an exchange but first, you have to submit your identity. Otherwise, you can go on a platform such as LocalBitcoins or even here on the Bitcointalk.org marketplace / signature campaigns.
Many YouTubers give away free BTC if you just join their giveaways. Join the community and ask around. There are plenty of places where you can get/buy bitcoin.

The larger their stash of Bitcoins the more trustworthy they are as an exchange. I would trust holding my BTC, ETH, LTC and other cryptocurrencies on Coinbase simply because they have such a large stash.
Most banks operate in the same way.

Buying.
So, you want to buy Bitcoin? In other words, you can receive payments through "an irreversible payment." For each trade, you will have to provide a form of identity verification as well as a handwritten statement stating your bitcoin talk username, my username (smartbitcoininvestor) tradeamount$ and date.
You send money through Paypal, ApplePay,..etc "reversible payment" and will receive Bitcoin "an irreversible payment." Which means you are supposed to be trusted or provide an adequate warranty/escrow. As a "reliable purchaser & verified bitcoin dealer on Paxful and LocalBitcoins" it is best to show links to your account on those sites, that may enhance credibility. Good luck I have added my Paxful profile to the thread topic.

Nice guide! Thanks for putting this together.

It is still too early for governments to adopt cryptocurrencies i.e. the blockchain. Right now, almost all of them use fiat currency to issue currency to their citizens.
Maybe we will go back to a gold system soon and then maybe governments will issue their own blockchain-backed currencies.

A bitcoin wallet would be a great gift for anyone who owns BTC.

Hold both. In fact, any type of alternative asset will work as a hedge against a recession. Consider moving your existing 401k or IRA into a self-directed IRA account.

Try out Paxful bro. You can literally exchange your VISA prepaid card for Bitcoin on there with other people.

Thanks for making this list. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

What is the job? I may be interested.

I may be interested in purchasing $20 worth of BTC first. If you want to sell bitcoin with PayPal i would recommend checking out Paxful. Here is a good guide on where most people go to buy bitcoin with PayPal.

Aside from bitcointalk, there are actually a few other places you can go to buy bitcoin directly with paypal like Paxful or LocalBitcoins. Check out this guide.

For one, you can share your QR code in public places so that others can scan it and send you Bitcoin. Another good idea is to learn as much as you can about Bitcoin and write press releases, blog articles and books on the subject. By being on this forum you are also helping to spread good ideas and you can also join other Bitcoin forums (like this one) to connect with more like minded individuals.

Bitcoin is an asset so you can hold it like you would with gold or spend it like you would with cash. Also, there are thousands of apps and websites which will accept Bitcoin either for playing games, gambling or shopping/travel. It would be smart to look up all the options you have with using your hard earned bitcoin.

so are you buying or selling?
