Lol seems like you didn't care to read even single post on this thread but thats a overall normal problem. the name is just tooo familiar with paypal and can be misunderstood very easily. but it is a nice try to get on the paypal wave and get some more media awareness by riding it and being something totally different Marketing wise i don't know if it's such a good idea to take a similar name. But then again i'm no marketeer It would be easier to remember PAYPIE as it sounds like a well known entity such as PAYPAL. That's what we call "brand recall" in marketing parlance. But then the two entities are entirely different. Call me spoilsport but the name is probably something I don't like from this project. It's true that it resembles Paypal and that's a marketing strategy, but in the end I don't feel it delivers the power it aims to have. I'd have rather selected an abstract name. Paypie sounds like a paying cake - maybe too funny for something serious as accounting. Do you think the name is misleading? Virtual reality is a small niche market, as of now. I simply don't think theres enough end users at the moment, to build a working community platform. This startup is good, but way too advanced, and ahead of it's time, to grab the average consumer. Virtual reality is new, and very strange to the casual enthusiast.
I'm psyched, to be honest, this is everything I dreamed of as a kid, but I don't see the V.R market taking off, in a mainstream direction, especially with its current affordability, for another few years. I will continue to follow this project closely though!
That's not a niche market. That's a market in development and that's really different. In 5 years this market could be multiple times bigger. It's better to think ahead, if VibeHub succeeds to gain a place in this market early on, they will be major players in the future  A bit hard to compare but you have to be on the right place on the right time. No one has believed the iPhone would be a hit, but it was one and it started a new era of mobilephones. The concept of VIBEHub is good and VR Gaming etc is already there, even if it has not a base like the normal gaming etc. But in the end, this could be the move to push everything forward. VR game development or application, too little too slow. This market also needs long-term development, expect one day ordinary residents can also participate. VibeHub can be successful in this market, AR and VR growth is also very good promotion. |
