The coin with the highest ROI is one that has not had its ICO yet. If you look at absolute ROI over any given period it is always some coin that ICOed within that time frame since the greatest growth always occurs in the first few weeks. If you want grab that spectacular growth you need to take the chance and invest during the ICO.

It is not what is on the page that impresses me, it is what is in their Github. I don't invest in hype and promises. I want to see people actually spending more time on developing the project and less time on marketing it. My new favourite coin is project called DarkPayCoin. No, it was a one off. Like when all the internet related stocks mooned in 1999. But did the bubble bursting in 2000 end the internet? It didn't and the largest companies today (Apple, Google, Amazon, etc..) are built on top of that internet. The next bull run in cryptocurrency has already started, but it is based on actual results and not hype. It will take a lot longer but we will see the market exceed its all time high in the next couple years and then it will continue to grow for decades.

Lol, those who are stupid enough to buy into these ICOs are getting punished. They are punished for their stupidity. No need to punish the scammer, if every "investor" did their homework, they won't be regret.

I agree that investors must bear some responsibility for not doing proper due diligence. I think the problem with scams will eventually be solved by professional due diligence platforms. You can eliminate about 90% of the risk if you simply are able to get accurate information about the people involved in the project. These will need to be paid services so their interests are aligned with investors interests. We have already seen how ICO Rating sites that rely on being paid by the ICO can not be trusted.

I don't do short term investing. The money I have invested is long term. If you have a time horizon shorter than 5 years then you really should not be using that money to speculate in cryptocurrency markets. The one risk you don't want to have to deal with is the forced sale of your coins during a bear market because you need to the money for something else. By using only long term money I am able to invest when prices are low and take profit when prices get very high.

I do a search of the Bounty Thread every week for all the bounties posted that week. I have to sort through a lot of garbage but I do find real gems on a regular basis that are awesome projects that but that are flying under everyones radar with very little competition for the rewards. The most recent gem that I found is a project called DarkPayCoin. They are an MN/PoS privacy coin that has a great community of developers. There is a new trend of exchanges themselves sponsoring an ICO and thereby guaranteeing a listing once the coin is distributed. I imagine that this may become something that ICO investors may start demanding before they invest. I would much rather see market based solutions like this to improve the quality of ICO markets rather than having increased regulation.

I see ripple going to $0.003 and then disappearing as the banks roll out a blockchain for international transfer being developed by the SWIFT consortium. The banks are never going to widely adopt a blockchain they don't own and control. It is not just about the money either. If they have a system where the only people who can participate are banks it leaves them much less vulnerable to hackers, who even if they manage to hack the system will have no where to spend the money.

That is the rumour that the fan boys have been spreading to try and pump up XRP. I don't think they are going to list XRP because it is a centralised coin and therefore is considered a security by the SEC. My feeling is that in 2019 as Banks begin building their own proprietery blockchain without XRP that it will become the new Bitconnect.

Decentralized exchanges are a lot safer to keep your coins on as you still maintain control over them. Not only will this help prevent losing your coins to hackers or dishonest owners but it also prevents your coins being used to your detriment. If your coins are on a centralized exchange there is nothing to prevent the exchange owner lending your coins to people who want to short sell them. Also since we have seen a rise in exchanges offering margin trading there is an increased danger that they could get this very wrong and bankrupt the exchange taking your coins with it.
