What makes you think someone is taking a 'sizable' short? Who would want to take a sizable short? Bitcoins are so scarce. If I was shorting, I would want my position to be as small as possible: For example, one satoshi.
802  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here's how it's going to go down. on: January 10, 2018, 10:40:37 AM
It's a bubble because it rose 10,000% in 2 years and is still 1400% above ATH without the major correction to near the ATH. The extra 40% on top of that doesn't mean anything and is a glitch. $8K is an extremely generous figure and is nowhere near the ATH it's supposed to correct to. Most likely $5.5K or $3K will be reached at some point too but not till later down the road, possibly a year. $3K is still a very bullish figure if we consider the recent breakout from $1K and we should be grateful for even $3K and not be too greedy. Imagine if you just wokeup from a coma from when bitcoin was dying at $160 just 2 years ago, and youre like 'oh my god thank god its 3k wow'

Anyway if you read through my whole story of how this is going to play out then it shouldnt matter to you, if you are a hodler.

It should even be good to you if you have any plans to buy any more coins. I mean imagine all the coins you could buy at $1800. You could get 10 times more gains in the next rally by buying at $1800 than you could if it just stayed at $18,000 and you had to buy there.

Look at all these perfectly aligned lines and filled in shapes. Every time a horizontal or logarithmic diagonal line is broken, it gets tested as support. It's like a symphony orchestra.
I'm looking at this one. The first diagonal line on top.

10K will be sliced through like a delicious melty stick of european salted butter. There is no 10K support or resistance on the chart anywhere.

oh come now

I am extremely bearish short term, but if it breaks below the 10550 log line I'll eat my hat TERA.
Do you mean 11500? That's where I'm seeing it.

It's just a funny story about how a trader is going to lose 2/3 of his coins and become a bear. Relax
807  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum after 5 years? on: January 10, 2018, 08:37:41 AM
I think Ethereum has risen way too fast and looks kind of like litecoin in 2013. It should accordingly drop 95-98%. At that point bitcoin would have only dropped 60% or so at most or if were talking 5 years it may even be pushing a new ATH.
808  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here's how it's going to go down. on: January 10, 2018, 08:34:25 AM
wow, that is a wild speculation you have there!

you are practically saying that bitcoin is going to get dumped -66% and not exactly explaining why, you just practically say that bitcoin will "fall apart" just like that. and then you say it will rise up +300% out of nowhere just because some people sell at the bottom! and again i can't understand "why" you think this can happen!

the charts are going to look funny if that happens though Cheesy
Were way up at the top of the bubble so a move down doesnt really need an explanation - just profit taking. Then the move back up happens because there is always a brand new buyer waiting to enter at lower levels, forcing everyone else to rebuy at higher levels.

So is everyone eating kettle corn or butter popcorn?
810  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Craze Is Not Like The Tulip Story on: January 10, 2018, 04:16:57 AM

Want to add some insult to injury with a btc crash? How about an ethereum flippening.
813  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin could ‘easily double’ in 2018, says Fundstrat’s Tom Lee on: January 10, 2018, 12:49:34 AM
If all it's going to do is double, then it's nor worth the risk. I want my bitcoin rallies to be at least 500%.

This is significantly not excellent *holds monacle*
816  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here's how it's going to go down. on: January 10, 2018, 12:35:57 AM
I kept 1/3 of my coins and held them through the entire 2014-2017 crypto winter. I needed the rest to pay taxes and support myself. Once the bull market starts, trading is very profitable though, especially altcoins.
817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here's how it's going to go down. on: January 09, 2018, 11:59:59 PM
And if we sell and goes up? What then? You lose part of your coins.

sounds like someone who didn't follow the first line and read the whole post

The only advantages come either if you are a criminal or if you are a trader/investor/gambler.

or if you know even vaguely how the money scam works.
This has no effect on the average person other than trying to beat inflation which you can do with any type of investment such as real estate. Youve explained to someone why they should invest their money instead of holding fiat, but not why it has to be bitcoin, and again you are only appealing to investors and not users. The average person living paycheck to paycheck doesnt even care about inflation and using bitcoin would be a loss for them. I think your only pitch left becomes something like 'well dont you want to be part of this plot to usurp the government and start ww3?' - again losing interest.
819  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 09, 2018, 11:11:46 PM
I'm not a computer scientist kind of guy and I don't like maths. My strengths lies in other areas of specialization.
I have always tried to do and study things I like, rather then pursuing a traditional career and that have lead me on to many interesting paths, crypto being one of them.

However, when I get a bank card I don't give a rat's ass how it actually works, and the bank doesn't tell me either. They just tell me how to use it. The same goes for just about everything else i buy, the TV salesman doesn't tell me how the TV works, just how to use it et cetera.
But when it comes to crypto it's always the other way around, every thread and info page talks ad nauseam about how it works, and very little about how to use it.
I for example no nothing at all about how to use segwit, and yet segwit have been talked about for ages. And I consider myself fairly intelligent. Just imagine then, when average Joe comes to bitcoin and is told to use segwit to lower fees. That won't tell him anything.
Why can't core make a information page that tells you how to use it? And make sure that page is seen among the noobs, and for that matter oldies like me without a degree in computer science. Why do they and everybody else have to talk non stop about incomprehensible technicalities?
I don't give a fuck about the underlying technology, I want to know how to use it.

And by the way, can you make a segwit paper wallet? And if so how?
That is one of the things that core should tell people if they want adoption.
This has just summed up exactly why the average person would never actually use bitcoin. If you try to explain the 'how to use it' and 'what does it do', it will not offer any advantages over fiat/visa and only drawbacks. The only advantages come either if you are a criminal or if you are a trader/investor/gambler. There isn't any use case for the average person except making a profit, which is why everyone is in now.

Now I'm trying to think of a forex candle setup called 'black power top'...
