"Real" proof would be something that is verifiable by a third party, preferably staff or another reputable source. Screenshots and notepad do not fit into this category.

Please refer to his, as it has been accepted since the dawn of man that these types of proofs you are providing are not considered gospel.

Stop talking about notepad, because you are unable to consider anything more complex than a screencap or notepad. You sound like an asshole when you put words into my mouth and ask the same question repeatedly.


Clearly not in all forums. We do not accept it, and no other forum that is to be taken seriously has ever done this to my knowledge. You are either lying, bringing up irrelevant anecdotes or maybe you would be better off on these forums. I don't know why it would be preferable that the burden of proof is so low elsewhere, or why you would want to bring that scourge of justice here.


That's not obvious at all. We are trying to give you advice on how to properly report what is happening and you are being resistant, because you think that you know best. This to me, makes it more obvious that you are "playing a dick here" than it does that you are trying to report a scammer.


Proof comes in many forms, and we are not saying the screenshot is worthless, but it is almost worthless. Again, you can't seem to shut up about notepad, for some reason.

It is useless to report phishers and scammers if you are going to do it improperly and expect everyone to bow down to your flawed mentality.


The scammer will not be tagged and you will continue to waste your time bumping this thread, unless you wish to do things properly.

First of all, nobody has accused you of faking the screenshot, so I'm unsure why you're acting so defensive. It makes me honestly second guess whether or not you did in fact fake the screenshot. The concern is that it can be fakes, and has been faked in the past. Regardless of your reputation or their reputation, the possibility exists that screenshots can be faked with ease. Motive and stake have little to do with the validity of proof, security or integrity around here. We do not make exceptions, and your screenshots might as well be a "notepad story", to put it to you in your own words.


Are you suggesting that screenshots are the only way to prove a truth claim? This seems foolish, naive and uninformed in the worst possible way. There are many more convincing ways to prove what you are saying, and one of them is getting staff to verify what you are saying.

There are many ways for people to fake screenshots of PMs if there is nobody to verify it. The stakes here are not extraordinarily high, but it still would be worth it to verify with a staff member/mod to make sure that it is actually taking place as you say it is. The person you are suspecting of being a phisher has not posted any links that seem too suspicious publicly, so without any verifiable information it would seem inappropriate to press action against somebody while there is still reasonable doubt.
