801  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Suggested Bitcoin Core Pruned Node Size on: December 05, 2018, 05:31:36 AM
Just a quick update and feel free to lock.

SD card is working flawlessly. No issues at all. I may suffer the slow read and write speed for a full node but may just wait when I find a larger card that will give plenty of room for growth. Thank you to everyone for the help, troubleshooting, and idea bouncing.

I also run everything --usb :1 seems to deliver better hash rates with my 2pac OC's.
803  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac Stickminer Official Support Thread on: December 05, 2018, 05:11:27 AM
gnelson, you running asic boost in batch file? Some reason in winx with a hub I can't run it. W/o asic boost so far I have clocks at 350 mhz for the new pacs.

Welp, upgrading my 821 finally. Smiley

Edit for update.

Well so far no real noticeable change, hash is the same as it was at -2 but temps are lower and fan speed is reduced obviously.
805  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcing GekkoScience's new USB stick miner, the aptly-named NewPac on: December 05, 2018, 01:36:45 AM
I thought that these would stop hashing if temperature became an issue (?).
806  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: APW5 w/ 821x2 on: December 04, 2018, 04:03:55 PM
One more note don't use a splitter on the top 6pin's of the either board they get pretty warm. I imagine in a warmer climate they would damage.
807  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Ebang EBIT E11++ 44TH 45W/TH on: December 02, 2018, 10:10:04 PM
This has been another manufacturer with no, little, or extremely slow response to our inquiries.
808  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: December 02, 2018, 10:03:30 PM
Pretty sure the 7's and the 9's can have asicboost but the 8's don't have that capability.

Interesting, what is the thought there on the 8 series? I might have to join a batch to upgrade my two 821's to A9's
809  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Innosilicon Terminator 3 on: December 02, 2018, 09:59:49 PM
Office ceiling tiles work well and should be fire retardant. You can get them all over and priced ranges dramatically. Even cheap acoustic foam will do something but it's not great.

Fire blanket is a must.
810  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: December 01, 2018, 03:46:03 PM
We'll it's really nice to drop power use if I'm going to mine through bear with these. Asic boost will be a plus if available.

Might be silly not to upgrade your older avalons at these prices if your planning to mine on.
811  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience NewPac Stickminer Official Support Thread on: November 30, 2018, 04:47:37 PM
Hashing strong @ 325 clocks for the 3 newpacs. Still haven't had a chance to troubleshoot the asic boost issue further. Hopefully, the "honeydo" list is light this weekend.

Was this the solution to run in command or powershell? Sorry I'm not more software savy.

When you recompiled it did you copy the permission rules over?

If not, navigate to the cgminer folder and run:

Code:
sudo cp 01-cgminer.rules /etc/udev/rules.d/
reboot

Is there an easy way to know what model Pi the canaan controler I have is? I didn't get mine recently and noticed they list the Pi3 currently.

I must had read the email wrong I though it would be on their MOQ. I'll see about adjusting our listing if needed. Thanks philipma

Sounds pretty cool. I had a few wireless s7 running at one point but still routed through cable internet. I have a 4G LTE failover but never thought about using it permanently.
815  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AvalonMiner 921 released - 20 TH/s @ 1800W on: November 29, 2018, 04:06:19 PM
We'll I hope it's 4k 3D. I'd personally eat that up quick.

Looks like Steve wants to move units, room for more inventory? Canaan seems to have a good plan for product line. I'm happy to hear what their bringing and doing. Thanks fc.

Not if you plan to live in the home, or you build out for sound proofing.

I would check out coldcard for storage, samurai wallet if you have android. Cash app would be an upgrade from coinbase at least (imo). Wasabi and bisq are amazing. Bisq is worth the time node or not.

How is it you mine but only have a data plan?
818  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [55PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: November 28, 2018, 07:27:49 PM
Busy time of year and life happens fast. We had postponed a few weeks cause of Thanksgiving. Figure we'll work our way up to some "carnivory" events here in town.

If anyone from the pool in the Portland area is interested in "Bitcoin and beers" this Thursday night, DM me here or on twitter for details.

With me around you know it will be more noise than signal but still fun. We'll talk bitcoin and beer obviously.

Yea either way you'll get paid. Which is why I love this pool, all work goes rewarded even through ramp up. Just takes patience for those swapping from other pools.
