801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Finance Conference to host industry experts in person in January 2021. on: October 01, 2020, 12:44:47 PM
Is January too early?
I am also thinking if the event would be possible in January because based on the legit statistics(October 01, 2020) there are already 52,751 cases, 1,781 deaths, and 781 new cases yesterday(September 01, 2020), it seems like there is no sign of decreasing of cases if this pandemic will not go before 2021 then maybe they will just move it for some other months. It is so dangerous to continue the even while the virus is still there.
802  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why looking for a crack software version is dangerous, specially for crypto user on: October 01, 2020, 12:08:30 PM
There are many people who installed cracked software, they will choose that way than to buy it because of thinking that it would just be a waste of money and they don't see any harm by using that cracked software, actually, it is not bad if for you if you don't have some important files on your computer but if you have then it is better to buy a safe and legit software. What would be the money if you are having secured software that will keep your important data safe? It is also really dangerous if you have many crypto transactions on your computer.

Here are some reasons why you should avoid downloading a cracked software:
1. It can cause malware infections- Downloading illegal software can cause malware infection, the malware inside the cracked software can steal the important information on your device and the worst thing is that it can cause of having more malware.
2. You have to visit dodgy websites - Whenever you download cracked software, you will visit first cracking website, and by doing that it is already against the law so they have a little incentive not to harm users.
3. The software may not work - Downloading cracked software has no guarantee that it will work, there are also some instances that it will work at first, and eventually, it will stop. There is also no update for cracked software so it means you cant use any new features and security concerns.
4. It could lead to legal problems - We are also aware that downloading a cracked software is illegal and against the law, so the one you are caught using it, you face consequences.
5. You Could Infect Other Devices On Your Network - The worst thing that you can have of having cracked software is that your other devices on your network will be affected as well, once you connect your computer that has a cracked software and you connect it on some other devices, the virus can spread on that device as well.

804  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 🌍[Guide] Prevent scam!!! Some useful tools for find scam / fake ICO team 🌍 on: October 01, 2020, 07:59:23 AM
Thanks for the good topic, we, the beginners should know this information, there are many scammers in the virtual world and it would be easy for you to get scammed if you don't have any idea about fake websites. Beginners are the common victims of those scammers because they know that they are still new and they don't have good experience yet.

The common things that I am usually doing when I am going to try a website especially an investment/trading website, I will read first some reviews about it and I also checks its official website.

There are also good topics about this:

I believe your good nature in this undertaking has been abused right from the start:
I also noticed that way, even though the things that every newbie (member) need to do to receive merit is useful and helpful, it should also have some important requirements so other newbies wouldn't abuse the merit giveaway, I suggest that they should include this requirement:
1. 3 months+ old in this forum
2. Must include some quality topics they created.

These are just only my suggestion, it still up to the OP to decide what he wants it to be.
806  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is resistant to scams and illegal activities on: September 30, 2020, 05:14:45 PM
This is one of the reasons why some other people are not trying cryptocurrency, just like what some other people in our country they used to ignore cryptocurrency because of thinking that it is all a scam and there are many criminal activities that might happen here, well, in fact, those activities are can still be tracked by authorities unless they don't use Monero as currency.
Isn't it funny that when a bank is hacked, the hackers are the ones who are blamed, but when an exhange is hacked of its BTC, bitcoin is the thing people blame?
That is a fact, it matters for what they believe and most of the people are really into banks or stocks which is controlled by the government so they are comfortable that their money is safe, which has different perception when talking about cryptocurrency, even though they haven't use it yet, they are still thinking that it is a scam because of what other people's thinking.

808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Crypto Finance Conference to host industry experts in person in January 2021. on: September 30, 2020, 12:17:14 PM
This pandemic COVID-19 brings us so many changes in our daily lives and even in some events that we are usually doing, as of our current situation, one of the major crypto events from Switzerland prepares to take return to a physical format, I am hoping that COVID-19 will end within this year so it would be possible for them to continue the event.

The international crypto event, the Crypto Finance Conference(CfC) St. Moritz will be held in St. Mortiz and will take place from January 20-22, 2021, the event will feature speakers from key industry firms and institutions like Winklevoss capital, Swiss national bank, European Parliament, Ledger, and others. Cointelegraph, the well-known crypto news website will be used as the main media of the event.

This would be the fourth annual Iteration of CfC St. Mortize for the upcoming conference and will be different from the previous events because of the pandemic, the conference will prioritize the health of the attendees to avoid the risk of spreading the virus.

These are the available safety strategies of CfC St.Moritz
Health Checks
1. Fever and Oxygen level testing:
Before the guests will be able to check-in and gain an access to the conference area, the hospital staff will test the fever and oxygen level.
2. PCR-testing: Attendees should bring a PCR-test which is not older than 5-8 days.

Hygiene
1. Cleaning and disinfection: They will also provide disinfection stations in some important places of the conference.
2. Wearing of masks: Attendees should wear face masks in the main hall, they will provide masks for attendees who are not able to bring a mask.
3. Disinfection gel: They will also provide disinfectant bottles for every guest.
4. "NO HANDSHAKE" policy: Nobody contact and should be avoided all the time.

Distance rules
1. "Open door" policy: The doors and passages will be constantly open to avoid contact with surfaces.
2. Number of attendees: There are only a limited of 250 attendees in the conference, to obey the requirements of the Gederal Office of Public Health.
3. Conference seating: There would also seating arrangements and a number of seats where possible.

Monitoring
1. Monitoring: The distribution and the movement of the guests will observe all the times using the conference wristbands, it is tracked by means of NFC chips in the wristbands. Those data will be exclusive with the CDC St. Moritz and will be deleted 14 days after the conference.
2. "Application only" conference: The applications are only possible on the event's homepage and all of the questions on that are in line with the requirements of the Federal Office of Public Health.
3. Tracing App: All of the guests should download the SwissCovide app and activate it, aside from it there is also CFC St. Moritz App which has the information about the conference and COVID-19 measures.

Partner collaboration
1. Cooperation with suppliers and hotels: All of the suppliers and gastronomy partners will work in line with the highest hygiene standards and fulfill GastroSuisse's specifications which are in line with legal requirements.
2. Medical department: There is also qualified medical care at all times as well as the Doctors and medical staff of the upper Engadin Hospital.

Quote
The challenges caused by COVID-19  require additional efforts, which we as the organizer are happy to take on. We believed that the unique experience of CfC St. Moritz is not possible without physical interaction and personal exchange and are even the more sought after, particularly if appropriate measures are in place.

The application keynote will highlight these industry topics and will be available online.
1. Cryptocurrency regulation.
2. Central bank digital currencies and stable coins.
3. Crypto investment strategies.

This event of St. Moritz 2021will purportedly be among the first global crypto events with physical encounters on which most of the events of 2020 went online and some are delayed because of the pandemic virus.

809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Police Raids and kids involving spider betting. on: September 30, 2020, 10:22:11 AM
I also have spiders before when I was a kid and we also do that spider betting, I enjoyed it before because it is really amazing seeing two spiders fighting each other. This is also good when you know that two spiders are really strong based on the features of their body. I didn't know before that this is illegal because just like what I have said, I am a beginner at that time and then just a cople of months ago I had watched the news about it and saying that they raid those people who are involved with the spiders betting.

It seems like gambling is prominent all over the world because they even involve animals just to make a bet. Maybe it is just the nature of some people who are really addicted to gambling. I don't know they tend to rely on gambling well in fact there are some other things that they can do to earn money and get entertained as well just like what they can have in gambling.
810  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Bitcointalk sticky threads] Newbies - read before starting. on: September 30, 2020, 08:36:40 AM
Wow, thank you for your effort and time creating this thread, it will help every beginner of the forum to have a good experience working on it. It will help them to know the right and wrong things to do for every section of the forum. There are many newly created account that is being banned because of not reading or following the rules. I am hoping that this will help them read the rules of every section because it is already listed here, they don't need to scroll and find it one by one.

Let us include the most important rules of the forum:
Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ

Reading the rules of fthe orum is something we can say as reading the instruction of a test questionnaire in real life, both things are really important and should be the first thing we should do first.
811  Economy / Reputation / Re: [FUN] Is DdmrDdmr even human? on: September 29, 2020, 01:14:35 PM
@DdmrDdmr is also one of my top merit contributors, I am so thankful to him because it always give me motivation whenever I received merit, and most of the time is because of him as a beginner this thing is normal. I always checked his profile out of curiosity and he is always giving so many merits every day, I wonder how many hours he spends on this forum for giving merits and posting as well. He seems so loyal and a good member of this forum and it can be seen on his profile. Thanks a lot to him.
812  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Read the rules and don't post plagiarised content. on: September 29, 2020, 12:58:07 PM
I also read the content of a member who is asking help for his /her account, well, in fact, he had admitted that he committed plagiarism, so basically, he/she doesn't even read first the rules of the forum because he/she has the courage to post that appeal. He made a mistake by committing a violation which resulted in the banning of the account.

Being a beginner is not an excuse to be free from violating the rules, we should obey or follow it because it will make our forum organized. We should also respect our moderators because they are just doing their job for our forum.

Just to help beginners, here are the good links to help them:

Newbies - Read before posting

813  Other / Meta / Re: Beginners Mistake on: September 29, 2020, 08:45:44 AM
It was written in the rules that we should avoid plagiarism and yet you committed it, even though haven't read yet the rules, the sanction will still keep on you, being a beginner isn't an excuse, we are all responsible for reading the rules of every forum that we are going to join. I didn't know if you are familiar with any forums but for every forum that we have in this crypto world, there are always rules that we should obey in order for the forum to be organized. I cant imagine a forum to be successful if there are no rules and moderators that will observe every member.

We are all responsible to know the things we should know in this forum, we can ask other members through creating a topic, it will lead you to the right path.

I know you know that plagiarism is not a good thing and can be considered as a crime but you still did that thing, the violation that you have isn't for beginner because it is thought from ou schools and in our daily lives, so the punishment of being banned is deserved for those persons who commited it.

814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen when all the Bitcoin have been mined on: September 29, 2020, 07:12:46 AM
It will take so many years before all 21m bitcoin will be mined but if this would happen, the price of the bitcoin will increase which results in an increment in the transaction fee as well.

815  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Not your keys, not your Crypto. – Potential $150m Kucoin hack on: September 28, 2020, 08:48:20 PM
$150m is really huge money, I wonder how a person with that kind of money store it to the exchange, it seems like he is a beginner but he already has that kind money stored in the exchange, it is still better to store it from the hardware wallet compared to any exchange because it will make you assure that your money is really safe. If you are holding a huge amount of money then you should be careful and always think the possibility that hackers are always there an is really hooked up by big money.
I can understand that some people have part of their funds in the exchanges, especially if they trade.

If someone has all the funds in an exchange he has to be a newbie. If not, he deserves what he gets.
Even though your assessment is true, no one deserves to be the victim of theft, there is some expert who failed with this for some reason, it is bad that the judge them on it.
816  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto criminal activities. on: September 28, 2020, 11:51:04 AM
I see the effort of creating the thread, but there are 2 important things you need to empathize :
1. All those criminal activities are exist before cryptocurrency exist and can be done with fiat
2. Blockchain offer some privacy by default, but it doesn't offer anonymity (unless you coin such as Monero), but only pseudonymity. Additionally government could track someone's coin easily.
Thank you for appreciating and correcting some information, the information above is a little bit altered. Those criminal activities are already active in real life, there are many people who do that thing just to have some money and these activities increases because of the cryptocurrency, I already experienced some of them, especially the Ponzi scheme, wherein I lost my money because I trust the website and I don't have that good knowledge before to identify whethere it is legit or not.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting small amounts on a lot of matches or big amount on couple of matches? on: September 28, 2020, 09:35:09 AM
That is the hardest decision in gambling, actually, it's not that how good we are at the game because even though the greatest one can lose, it is all about how you handle your money or your bet while gambling. It is about thinking if you are going to bet a big amount of money or not. We always regret when we bet a little amount of money when we won and losing when we bet a huge amount of money, well that is gambling. It is really risky and so unpredictable. We cant give you good advice about that but if you just want to enjoy while playing then it is better if you bet small amount of money so you can spend more time in gambling.
818  Other / Beginners & Help / Crypto criminal activities. on: September 28, 2020, 07:56:17 AM
Cryptocurrency is now being prominent all over the world, it is really good for having an online financial system which can make you satisfied because you don't need to go to any banks or do some manual transactions of yours and because of this cryptocurrency the criminal activities also rise up again, there are some tax evasion, money laundering, Ponzi schemes, kidnapping and theft and asking for cryptocurrency as ransom, it makes some criminal to do an action without thinking that they would be trace because of having privacy in the crypto world.

Lists of threads of 4 Criminal activities:
1. Tax evasion - it happens when a person or a business illegally avoids paying of tax, it commonly happens to the crypto world. There are a million transactions of cryptocurrency that has not been reported because they think that they may not be caught because of having privacy on it.
Quote
Crypto investors, therefore, find themselves in the predicament that they are operating within an unclear tax environment. However, this does not relieve them of the obligation to report any taxable profits to the tax authorities. Anyone who fails to meet this obligation might be guilty of tax evasion.

2. Money laundering - it is an illegal activity of making large money from criminal activities. Cryptocurrency provides a good benefit for any business and company to have access to financial products and services and because of cryptocurrency there is 90% of money laundering are still undetected, it would be easy for any organization to do such things because it can be done through online with privacy as well.

3. Ponzi schemes - it is an investment that will pay you using the money of the other investors, so basically it is like a pyramid, those people who are at the bottom will suffer for this, they are common offers some good returns, beginners are commonly the victims of it. It also happens in real life and I already have many experiences about it. There are so many Ponzi schemes in the virtual world as well because there are many people who are using cryptocurrency and it makes those scammers or criminals secured their identity.

819  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For newbies eyeing to involve in cryptocurency, be careful! on: September 28, 2020, 03:29:31 AM
Most of the techniques or ways of scammers to trick other people is by creating a fake website. I already have an experience of being scammed through a fake website, the website has an offer to double your money for only 24 hours so as a beginner I've hooked up by that offer because it seems like easy money got me but then a day goes by, there still no money that came to me from that investment website, it took a week before I realized that it is a scam, it is just a normal experience for every beginner of this crypto world. Thankfully I already know that there is no instant money from this world, there would be no website that can double your money for only a few days. It is an obvious scam.
In order for us to avoid these scenarios, we should always be vigilant, we may identify whether the website is fake or not, by reading the reviews of it. We may also check it on their official website.
Collection of comprehensive guides on identify and avoid scam projects

The most common and traditional scam method is PONZI, MLM. This scam method is used by scammers in society for too long. In specific period, they will try to abuse a specific are in one nation, from sell, medicine, agriculture to crypto. They switch around different area to scam.
That's true, that is also a common way of the scammers, sadly those people who are at the bottom will suffer for the scam. Scammers are so intelligent by doing this, we should be intelligent as well to define whether we are on the fake website or not.
