801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is better, parlay or teaser bet? on: January 01, 2024, 12:51:29 PM
So parley is stacking bets to add up the odds, something I have seen commonly done by many bettors.
Teaser is tweaking the odds at the trade of the payout, seems simple and logical because they are both inversely related. However I have not seen this type commonly, correct me if I am being ignorant.

I think both are used are separate tools for bettors who are used to these systems. All in all, never forget that the betting systems are only there to make you bet and risk more and not for the casino to lose more.
802  Other / Off-topic / Re: Crypto is a scam on: January 01, 2024, 12:45:04 PM
I guess the OP started their journey on the get-rich-quick path and go washed away quickly, which is obvious and hence for them, it all seems like a scam. A very childish way of thinking but a primitive and feral one indeed. If they had applied the logic they would see that crypto was never meant to make the rich poor and the poor, rich. It only helps bridge some gaps in fiat currencies properties which lead to problems.

With proper background knowledge crypto can be used easily and with great effects. But if you are only here for the riches, then you are in the wrong place.
803  Local / India / Re: Shadow Ban on Crypto Exchanges on: December 31, 2023, 09:59:44 AM
At least someone had a benefit out of this decision from the government i.e. VPN companies had a rise in traffic.
You dont say. The porn ban led to VPN gold run in India. People started knowing what a VPN is after that event.

Quote
On the other hand, don't you think there's a little risk if we use VPN or Tor to access our crypto accounts ?
I would not say there is no risk. But do we have any other choice?

Quote
But anyway, I feel that these crypto exchanges will soon comply with AML policies now that the government had made the announcement.
Indeed, and I hope that regulations will be such that it helps the common law-abiding citizen to transact without roadblocks and the criminals to get caught trying to exchange tainted funds.
804  Local / India / Re: Financial Intelligence Unit of India wants to block URL of Binance and 8 others on: December 31, 2023, 09:56:23 AM
I don't think that this is the case. I think that is is more in relation to what libert19 said, that the population that is using the blockchain are choosing international exchanges to avoid the costs that come with local exchanges.
The population is doing that as a side effect of the government's oppressive actions on local exchanges, its not the other way round.

Quote
I personally think that governments and lawmakers around the world have come a long way in undersanding the blockchain - yes, there is a long way to go, but I know that they are now wise enough to at least create laws and regulations around what is in their best interests...which might not be good for the people overall, but what laws and regulations are? It's always going to be in the favor of the government...but at least guidelines are becoming clearer.
In the Western countries, perhaps, not in India. Here the government is run by 8th standard fail politicians and they dont even know how to spell the word cryptocurrency yet and have been making policies around the same. Although crypto-literacy is happening but at a very slow rate here and we are hopeful for the future but not anything immediately.

Even the West is drawing out its plan to regulate crypto but failing to make any concrete step, India is way behind on that.
805  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Newbie promoting Ponzi scheme on: December 31, 2023, 09:48:14 AM
The funny thing is that they use celeb images to write up fake testimonials and still it does not raise red flags to the people who think this to be legit. Of course for new users to these scams, verifying a word of mouth from a telegram random user does not make sense - "just take my money" is the attitude here. Heck if that person really invested in such a mining op, the words would have reached the news media long back.

Eventually the money has no way to come back when the crying starts. It is then they are realize that they have been scammed.

Flag supported from my end.
806  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: December 31, 2023, 09:38:14 AM
Yes, there are several sites with real reviews. But it is unreal to find real review in hundreds of fakes. The only purpose of these sites that may be useful for gamblers i can imagine is to know the casino names. After it the gambler have to visit this board and search for real information and feedback.
See the affiliate marketing for gambling is huge and that has a huge market which demands this too. Hence the number of websites providing reviews, gambling strategies and so on are immense and the side effect is that the quality of reviews and promotions there have become so low that you will find it difficult to navigate.

There are many sites that are actually working out the odds and calculating EV and the probability maths. Such sites are few and that is an important part of the reviews.

I already said about my view that bankroll investment feature should be included, I think this can be another addition.
807  Other / Archival / Re: Generational wealth on: December 31, 2023, 09:34:11 AM
How is pharmacy connected to making generational wealth here?

If you are a part of the big pharma companies then you might be having generation wealth or you may not.

If you plan to become one, then its a different ballgame. You have to get a degree have a vision, work out that vision and launch products, generate capital, investments and reach out to different countries seeking your product.  In short it is not easy and only a handful of people have been able to provide such service that they are are among the top 10.

Best you can do is to get your degree and work to generate wealth, have kids and educate them enough to be able to pursue their dreams.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there long-term profitable sports bettors? on: December 31, 2023, 09:27:16 AM
I still remember this thread which I used to follow since I first signed up on this forum:

CarlesPuyol Sports picks Thread - Hot Picks with review

The OP was posting picks almost every day and most of the picks led to wins. Although I never followed him nor took advice from their picks, I am sure they walked away with profits>losses.

What I never understood was why they suddenly stopped coming to the forum. Maybe they moved on the paid picks as per their last few comments on the thread.

In either case, the luck factor does weigh out the skills at some point and you will get burnt if you dont stop. It is gambling after all. So in the long term it is not going to profitable if you are always betting. If you are selling your picks but not playing then you will always profit.
809  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: December 31, 2023, 09:17:44 AM
I actually believe that you are being sarcastic, what I call sarcastically joking, and again, did you notice that the win is not something that happened recently?
Yeah, that win was from way back 2016 when 0.314 bitcoin was still worth $200, how amazing is that?  Grin
I think you missed some of the older posts, I am one of the few members of this forum who have won the 200$ roll on freebitcoin and that image posted by that newbie scumbag is the one I used to post about this big win back in 2016.

Clearly this has been a common defrauding attempt by many newbie accounts of getting a reward on the Big wins thread by using images of other people's wins and the account here was trying to do the same. Luckily TheQuin and wetsuit are well aware of this and have been negating them from getting the reward.

810  Local / India / Re: Shadow Ban on Crypto Exchanges on: December 30, 2023, 10:57:03 AM
LOLz the government here is like lets ban the URL and nobody can access it. They forget what Proxies, VPNs are and how TOR can also be used to bypass all such rules. Previously we have had Porn ban and that only led to more VPNs running their businesses well in the country. Idiotic 8th standard fail politicians can even speak the C of crypto and they are making rules for the commoners.

However money laundering is rampant through crypto in India but this is not the method to control it.
811  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk mixer ban, Altcointalk is active in that scope. on: December 30, 2023, 10:35:21 AM
theymos even can do more, ban all signatures and signature campaigns if he sees post quality is very low because of signature campaigns.
Post quality had gone low much earlier and the Merit system was brought in for that. It has improved post quality after enforcement but it has its own nuances. Banning signature campaigns is something theymos will not do - because the point has been brought up many times and admin knows that the maximum source of traffic on this forum is from campaigns.

I can only imagine some users running on campaign on this forum and another on another forum. I can only make time for one so hats off to those people and I appreciate the hard work on their side. Grin

Its a personal decision whether to move to a different site just because they are allowing signatures and we should let people have that liberty to take such decisions.

Hey kid, stop using my big win picture to make yourself look like a bigger scumbag.

Although I would wish you to win big like I did, you are not going to get anything by faking it with my picture so dont repeat this in future or else the people in this thread are going to troll you hard than reddit.

Win it yourself and proudly display your win. Or else go away. Roll Eyes
813  Local / India / Re: Beware of fake trading apps! on: December 29, 2023, 02:41:05 PM
But the way these sites were advertising their apps as if it will make us rich was so wrong.
Using popular celebs to advertise such appropriate because there's a large audience that watches them and get influenced.
It is how the celebs sell their influence on common people. There are people who are fanatical about their idolized celebs. They will follow them to death and that is what is wrong but common among the rising younger generation. We old skool people have learnt how this works and hence avoid such influence and it is out job to prevent our known family members from getting trapped here among other things.

We as an individual can make an impact here by showing them how celebs only make money from their signups and that they are least bothered about the customers.
814  Economy / Exchanges / Re: OKX to delist privacy coins on: December 29, 2023, 02:31:44 PM
They didn't mention anything about the "cause" but I think it's clear. The question now is... which exchanges are going to follow? Binance also announced a similar thing a few months back but then changed their minds. Thoughts?
The recently announced mixer ban on the forum is point of huge debate already. Are you trying to imply that privacy coins and mixer ban are linked? I would say so, although theymos here clearly mentioned Monero is not going to be affected.

The similar type of privacy-anonymity centric problem that mixers and privacy coins have curve-balled at governments is the root cause of such steps taken by centralized exchanges.

We are just customers here, just wait for another exchange to come up that supports XMR, DASH, ZEN for a few months and then move on to the next one. Grin
815  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make money on cryptocurrencies without investment? on: December 29, 2023, 02:25:12 PM
I'm just a newbie and I don't have other opportunities to make money irl because of my place of living and age. I tried already bounties and airdrops, but I'm not lucky in it. Thanks for your advices!!!
You do need luck to make money. But thats gambling and it is not something I suggest everyone to do.

You should consider how you want to invest the money. I would suggest traditional fiat investments and crypto. Remember that you need to use your existing money to start this, you cant make money from thin air, bitcoin is not something like that.

Buy bitcoin at low and sell at high is what the basic long term strategy is. Bounties and airdrops will waste your time, rather be active on this forum and improve your rank and join signature campaigns in future side by side with buying bitcoin if you can afford it.
816  Other / Meta / Re: Why do some campaign members posting essay? on: December 29, 2023, 02:16:29 PM
"Unhealthy" is when one forum members calls out other forum members about things that they dont like.

If you think the post is irrelevant, report it. Let moderators take action and move on from that. If you are still getting bugged by that user, put them on your Ignore list, report the manager about it and leave.

I do not appreciate people calling each other out like this, this is a place where people should be able to hang out like a coffee-shop adda, forget about campaigns and all. If you guys still have to mudsling, we got all sorts of social media for that, toxicity is nothing new, adding to it in unhealthy, trying to remove it makes it wholesome.
817  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack.fun on: December 29, 2023, 01:45:56 PM
We sought help from Bitcointalk moderators, but received no response, leading us to the decision to temporarily close our ANN. Our primary goal is to focus on building our project in peace. Additionally, many comments on this platform seem to be unfounded ideas, lacking substance.

Dear Eva,
please know that there are users who will run around making bad comments without evidence and attempt to smear a project's image, this is a public forum after all. It does not mean that their words have any value or that people who have a proper insight are going to accept their views. This is not the first time I am seeing such and previous casinos who have faced such trolls have survived by ignoring them instead of trying to fight them.

Moderators are not going to get involved in this, its not their job. Please read what I have wrote below.

He left our Blackjack.fun profile a negative feedback. We have been building this reputation for years. (Just noticed that this feedback is gone)
That user is not in the DefaultTrust (DT) network, which is the select few users of this forum that people unnaimouusly consider as Trustworthy, their ratings make a difference on any other account on the forum. Hence the feedback (it is still there) is visible in the "Untrusted Feedback" button on the trust page. Otherwise if they were on DT, their rating would be visible on "Trusted Feedback" - dont worry, such users who make baseless trust feedbacks are never included in DT list.

What you can do in case you feel harassed in future, is that make a thread in "Reputation" section of this forum, which is the place to discuss Reputation disagreements or squabbles, explaining your situation and why you feel the feedback in not justified. DefaultTrust (DT) members regularly visit this section and take proper action if needed.

BTW you guys already have 4 Positive trust ratings from DT members, which is enough to give you all a good reputation.

If you still have problems understanding how to proceed since English is not your first language, PM me like you did before, I will gladly help you out even though I am not in DT.

Just keep in mind that your team is not alone in this forum. ❤️ Please come back to revive your thread here.  Cry
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll! on: December 28, 2023, 01:29:48 PM
The sports betting or casino was based on the knowledge of you in the sports and probability. If you had good analytical skill, the casino will be the better option compared to the sports bet.The greedy should be take care in the gambling, because the greedy gamblers will be the loser all the time.
Sports does takes skills but that luck factor can wipe you out any time. It is the essence of gambling, you cannot guarantee your win even after honing your skills over years. The poker players are often quoted about this but they often have side businesses running which earn cumulatively more than poker itself. Hence whatever bankroll you end up keeping you will have to limit yourself or else you will bust it all.

There is no hard and fast rule regarding this but 10% is what I usually recommend.
819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 28, 2023, 01:24:18 PM
It's not fun losing money but the gamblers are bound by their habits and addiction such that they use the humor to tide over the bad feeling of losing money. It's always desirable to win on every game but in casino that is not possible and is why the casino wins more than the players.

The games may derive the fun aspect but it quickly closes off once the losses come into view.

However some people find gambling an escape from boredom. That is the correct way to reduce boredom but it's also one of the reasons why they find losing money as fun.
820  Local / India / Re: Beware of fake trading apps! on: December 27, 2023, 03:12:20 PM
Not just trading but also gambling apps. There are people trying to advertise gambling apps where people make huge profits.
Once users deposit money in it and win money they get scammed when they try to withdraw the money.

One of my relative has his money stuck in fantasy cricket app (I don't consider fantasy games anything less than gambling). He started using those because in them there is low competition in contests compared to established apps like dream11.
Would not suggest these apps to anybody. I know this becomes like an alternative to sports betting and so on and since the government does not allow gambling openly, these predatory apps are trying to catch the demanding people.

Still, a lot of scams can happen and in general a risk these apps are. Tell them to avoid these, that is the maximum you can do from your side.
