801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Type of gambling and Intelligence on: December 18, 2023, 02:20:27 PM
Does the type of game you play at a casino or sports you bet on show an individual's level of intelligence or how smart a person is?
Blackjack, Poker, slots, roulette, baccarat, sports betting, horse racing, betting on sociopolitical events, keno, etc.
The first five are EV- games and the next three are EV+ games.

However Expected value being positive or negative does not indicate the level of intelligence of a person.

In fact that intelligent person will not be the gambler but be the casino in order to make money. Cool

Maybe you are indicating that skill based betting means a person is intelligent - it may or may not be correct. They have the skills no doubt but luck is always there and your intelligence has no factoring on this. If that was the case then intelligent minds would have beaten every casino out there.
802  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: My Dad got Crypto scammed (UFJPRO) on: December 18, 2023, 02:15:17 PM
Well the app looks like the ones where you appear to make a lot of money after depositing a certain amount but its all fake and made up. The moment you try to withdraw your inflated balance it asks for withdrawal fee or something in those lines. These are common scams where the scammer lures the victim to such an app and makes them deposit money there - try to avoid the direct asking for money line.

So firstly your did not get scammed by investing in crypto - in fact they never invested anything in crypto at all.

Either way, try the legal route, but chances of recovery are very slim. This event should make your entire family aware of how these scams run and how to avoid them in future.

You will always have people calling reputable sites scam for some random reasons; best is to not pay to much attention to it. Freebitco.in is the oldest faucet that is still running and they are still paying. To the best of my knowledge, I have never seen a legit scam accusation against them.
Even if there was a scam accusation and if it was legit, the owners would have solved it to the best of their abilities. Like any other casino running on this forum for traffic, they know that the crowd here is strong enough in their support and equally devastating enough if they mob up. Of course the second option will never happen that has been shown for the last 10years how legit a site freebitco.in is and continues to do so.

Certain nay-sayers come to the forum often, but lack the proof or evidence that is needed to accuse the casino.

If you win the $200 or top prizes on the free roll or anything else definitely post that here because its pretty rare and cool to see.   I have not yet won that but Iam due a win by all laws of probability, I will personally dig up Blaise Pascal and refute his theorem in person if he dont deliver soon.
It was back in October 2016 when I first started hunting faucets for the last 5-6 months and had joined this forum looking for more faucets to hunt. They were starting to become a bit of a bore when one fine morning I rolled 10000 on the free roll here. I was stunned and stared at the screen for few minutes before I could make out anything and the next thing was that I posted it here on the Gambling discussion section

Got 200$ from Freebitcoin today morning, call that a BIG WIN
805  Local / India / Re: Which of the following P2P exchange you trust? on: December 17, 2023, 11:19:21 AM
If you have BTC, and now you need money then there is no harm in selling it and that is what money is supposed to be used for.

BTC has potential to grow, but if you don't feed yourself today, then there is no point of hoarding the food for the next month.
Spend the BTC only in case you are in need of money. Otherwise hold the BTC because its potential to be huge in the future. Coming to the Indian context the lack of exchanges, huge taxation, its better not to sell at all. Use fiat money from your salary to pay for bills and keep bitcoin locked up for some betterment in future.

P2P is full of scammers, I dont know which one you can trust. With that, its better to wait it out.
806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 17, 2023, 11:15:47 AM
I sometimes kill time by watching blackjack games on the youtube channels of certain users who play it for fun with their own casinos or setup casinos. Usually involves live dealers and commentary from the players. Indeed its more fun to watch someone else play and lose money because you know that the money is not yours and no stress is on you.

Live dealer games have a different vibe indeed. Online games are fun too but but the ones with live dealers and real life brick and morter casinos will always shine desperately.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 17, 2023, 11:06:10 AM
I dont have the gambling problem but I tried gambling a long time back and understood that the casino will win in the long run and the only way to beat the casino is by being the casino or by exploiting it. I would not recommend the second option because that is illegal but the first one is doable.

I have seen problem gamblers have difficulty in managing finances, relationships and goals. Its because their addiction is turning their lives inside out but this can be controlled by professional help and discipline. Thankfully today it is a recognized disease and help exists for those who need it.

For that the first step is always accepting that they are having a problem which they cannot control on their own.

I wouldn’t recommend depositing on websites like this, usually end up exit-scamming, or just have fake bonuses.
Yup freebitcoin has been here since like 2013 and has been "scamming" nicely with proven payouts of Lambos and jackpots.

I myself have been a winner of their 200$ faucet roll and am also investing on their site for some time now. Grin

I would be pretty happy that they continue the "exit-scam" like this so that we all can make some money from it. Its the oldest running faucet till date and we are all part of the scam. Isnt that cool enough?
809  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay discrimination on: December 17, 2023, 10:53:51 AM
Pay difference will exist, there is no doubt in this. People who have worked their youth off for learning a skill based job and are not selling their skills will ask for money and you have to pay them or you dont get it.

On the other hand physical labour based jobs can be done by anyone and will always pay less. Its a brain vs brawn game here and the brain always gets paid more.

We are now in gold rush stage for AI, its a long way from here. AI will be run by humans with a brain and robots will only take over physical jobs. So again that leads to the brain winning over the brawn and the pay discrimination remains.
810  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Escrow services and problems on: December 17, 2023, 10:50:13 AM
I know for a fact that Bitcoin is meant to be a peer-to-peer crypto-currency where trust is the key, even tho there is multi-sig, but for the simple user they would find it quite hard to do so. And therefore why there aren't many Bitcoin escrow services (excluding DW escrows for non-legit/illegal purposes).
There are community based trusted users who act as escrows to mediate a deal between forum members, some of them even work outside the forum, all for a fee. You need to be highly trusted and elder user of this forum to be able to gain that trust through many different transactions and deals done here.

Quote
Also, makes me question if it is actually a profitable business, given it is hard to earn trust for such platforms.
Its not, from my viewpoint. There are very few such transactions happening.

Quote
Finally, what's with escrow and disputes? I mean, solving disputes is not that hard of a thing to do, right? right??
We have had instances where such escrows have turned scam. We have one user posing as one party and as the escrow while the other party is effectively scammed. So before even solving disputes, there are disputes that have remained unsolved for years now.

I would not recommend such a service, but dont let that discourage you.
811  Local / Off-Topic (India) / Re: Let's Discuss About Movies and TV Shows! on: December 16, 2023, 11:14:18 AM
The first one is Patton and the second one is Guns of Navarone, both are available on prime videos. Did you watch these two gems?
Of course I have watched these two, but I daresay you watch The Reader too. Just reading the plot will give you a wrong impression, I also avoid rom-movies, but its not like that at all, its just a backdrop in front of which a poignant war happens. It is one of those movies which brought tears to my eyes. Cry
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I ask for refund if casino game has bugs? on: December 16, 2023, 11:01:47 AM
From what I have seen if there was a fault on the side of the casino then the casino would refund the bet. If the casino was exploited then they might not pay rather sue the person who exploited their service.

But how do prove the casino was at fault? That is the biggest question. In a online casino those who are intro programming might be able to crack the bug.

However I have not had such an experience but I vaguely remember I may have come across such topics and they were resolved in time.

814  Local / India / Re: Oh digital rupee is already live!? on: December 15, 2023, 03:53:09 PM
This. If digital rupee is given right ui/ux, promoted right way. Given offers to use, which most of Indian population is mad after, I don't see reason why it wouldn't get popular.
The BHIM UI is clunky enough, but the Indian government employed devs are capable of doing much better had they been given better payments. Still I agree that with a proper UI it can go far. #PayTheDevs  Tongue

We might see another global pandemic on its way from the same country where COVID-19 started. If that happens then the government won't be required to promote digital rupee as it will get the same response as UPI did in the past. The CBDC in China has less use locally but has a lot of use for international payments and big business transactions. I think the path forward for our CBDC will be the same or if UPI does not remain free then CBDC transactions will take a big leap in our economy for sure.
Lets hope that does not happen in reality, one pandemic every century is enough to wipe out and entire nation, thanks to the development in science this one could be controlled within a couple of years.

I was not aware of CBDC in China, but if their CBDC is involved with international transactions and watching our PM be in "flight mode" resumption after the pandemic here, possible they will try to replicate the same here and are involved in talks about the same.
815  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTS] 1.5 BTC in Kolkata, India on: December 15, 2023, 03:43:52 PM
Your account is a pretty old one and it woke up after a long time of inactivity.

Before this you were someone located in Germany. How come now you are in India? That too selling a load of 1.5 BTC which is no joke amount at all as far as INR is concerned.

A lot of red flags to consider here in my opinion. Roll Eyes
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: December 15, 2023, 03:39:51 PM
Working as a casino dealer is another option Tongue

In other words, the only guaranteed method to make money from a gambling outlet is to be a part of the casino. Previously I told about investing in the casino's bankroll, but there is also the option of being a worker in the casino. Its an office job and not related to gambling directly.

Be the casino and you will get a good earning, but most of us can only dream of being one. Grin
817  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Real world side gigs for sats. on: December 15, 2023, 03:33:47 PM
I'm looking to stack some sats utilizing ideas like this over the holidays if you guys would like to contribute and ideas to be tested in this endeavor please drop it here and I'll try to utilize or implement your idea into this venture.
OP still doing this? Holiday season is on for some parts of the world and just around the corner for others. Odd jobs are always in demand but the amounts that each earn might not be worth converting to crypto individually. I could suggest taking fiat payment and converting to crypto in bulk to avoid the transaction fees at the most possible amount. Also depending on your skills or expertise, you need to build a customer base too, for that you need to market your service on social media, which takes time too.

Hence my suggestion is not to keep this as a one off holiday service, but start it with this year and continue every coming month.
818  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Flag reference for CryptoCraftsMan(UID = 3592888) on: December 15, 2023, 03:27:51 PM
I have seen previous attempts at scamming like this. The user is keeping the info to themselves and only giving out some juicy details hoping to find a quick and easy prey. Usually works with the newbies who come to the forum hoping to make some quick cash in the name of bitcoin.

If it was possible to make 40% per day or 1200% in a month, the banks would go bankrupt and that one person would have destabilized the economy Roll Eyes

Miracles dont exist in a logical world. Flag supported from my end.
819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's role in financial development on: December 14, 2023, 04:01:48 PM
I wonder how you are affording an Internet connection with a smart device to post in the forum if you don't even have a house. But I hope things get better for you in the near future.

Our parents sacrifice a lot for our well being, it is a sign of good parenting among other things. This should ignite the fire in you to work hard yourself and earn your place in this world. Let it be through bitcoin or through fiat, that fact that you realise your father's harship is the first step correctly taken.

Learn about Bitcoin and how it works. Eventually start developing your own skills and learning new ones to share with others and get paid for the same.
820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bankroll! on: December 14, 2023, 03:54:29 PM
1. I can start with 1000$ but why would I?
2. 10-30% if I am being humble. 100% if I am being greedy  Grin
3. I would always be content with whatever I get.

Frankly speaking the term investment in sports betting should be made clear. I don't consider gambling as an investment but investing in the casino's bankroll is something that is useful as an investment but not gambling per se. Please do check out the first option although such casinos are dwindling in number.
