With this update, you need to create a wallet called MIXER and put the coins in that wallet

v1.37 Windows Wallet

http://xc-official.com/release/wallets/

I will update user guides tomorrow morning, with the correct details

Also there are 3 core nodes - DNS seeding will be implemented shortly as well, the run-xc.bat batch also disables IRC via the "-irc" option, so make sure you have nodes listed in your X11Coin.conf if you use the batch file

Also with the v1.37 release, I want to introduce a minimum amount required in the XNODE mixer wallet.. say between 100XC's and 1000XC's?  A poll will be setup on the forum shortly

I choose 100 XC, I think most of people want to mint.

valid point, one of the options too is to have say 200, reserve 100 for minting, and having a 100XC's for the xnode feature

As I indicated, v1.36 was just for testing,

v1.37 will be released tonight, it will require 100 XC's to be an XNode

Also the Encrypted Messaging beta could be released for testing by the end of the week...stay tuned

807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC][OFFICIAL] X11/PoS/Privacy on: June 07, 2014, 12:42:40 AM

Updated Windows Wallet released

http://xc-official.com/release/wallets/

v1.36 - this is only for users wishing to test xnode, it is not a "required" update unless you want to use the xnode feature

User Guides

http://xc-official.com/XCPlatform/user_guides/

Would you be able to specify whether or not a wallet needs to be unlocked, and whether or not the just for staking checkbox should be checked or unchecked?

The user guide does layout that answer, basically the xnode wallet should be a fresh wallet, not locked, deposit 20 coins...

you can't stake coins on the xnode, you must set reserved balance so that the coins never stake

ok.  so don't encrypt it yet?  That is what I was wondering because that is normally the first thing I do when downloading a new wallet.  encrypt and back it up.

Also, the updates are just code based, nothing special?

ah, not locked, you can encrypted, but unlock via console or the unlock button (un check staking) - this would only be for users running as an xnode - via the -xmixer parameter or batch file in the zip file.

Yes this is just a minor code update...

http://www.wired.com/2014/06/feds-seize-stingray-documents/

what is stingray?

Stingray is basically a mini-cell phone tower/network/access point in a box... or it can be more advanced with a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) (for example, at a stadium, sporting event, etc)

It does a man in the middle attack, picking up your text (as clear as day btw)... your data and your calls (metadata on this is captured real-time, who you called, how long you talked, etc)

XC will play a key part in protecting against this intrusion with its 2 way encrypted protocol

A minor updated to REV1 - v1.36 will be released tonight.  Also the logo will be selected, then the PR & Marketing effort can truly start.

Hi atcsecure,
Thanks for the info.

Will we be able to build .36 under linux ? (as it is today .33 only avalaible)
In this case, will it include xnode feature for linux as it is for windows and mac release ?

Thanks by advance.

At this time the only option would be to release a debian/ubunti & centos/redhat package for v1.36

Any info on the changes, or are they still pending?

v1.36 is just a minor XNode only update - to prevent additional attack vectors...

Thread title says mandatory wallet update today 1/6.  Was it announced what would be included in this update? Thanks

Anyone know the answer to this ^

Isnt today 06/06?

That's a good point. Maybe typo on the title? The title was changed to this yesterday I believe. Maybe they meant 6/6?

I thought the title had been that way but maybe I am wrong.  The latest builds are from the 1st though.

Title is wrong

...don't think there is an outstanding design in the submissions.

+1. I don't think it's a good idea to design a logo without first creating a brand identity and narrative.

its 2014 only way to make a logo is make a bounty and whack it up at http://99designs.com/
get the professionals to compete...

i think solid and cryptodruti are at 99designs level, they just haven't put it in 3d or iron or something. but the arrangement is great

Guys, is this not a cart-before-the-horse scenario? Getting a logo hastily and without a cohesive brand strategy will just come across as patchy and unprofessional.

don't overthink this, its a cryptocurrency with a bad logo and it needs a nice new one , thats it, the  brandof xc is beeing best in fundamentals and beeing visionary in new features imo, the logo just needs to look cool in webshops, ranking sites and merch. and it just needs to be up to standard

I'm all for a bare-bones approach. Totally. What I mean though is that the role of branding, PR etc. is to clearly communicate the fundamentals. I'm sure you'd agree that they've been mostly obscured by FUD lately. We need good communication, and it's not hard to do properly. (In fact I've suggested to the Dev that I take it on.)

Check my posts, me and some other guys have been begging for a professional approach to the brand identity so many times. I just gave up. I m holding because of dev, but the PR has been a total desaster and there is no willing to change it so far. It s just sad to see such great developement with such a shoddy marketing. Hope that changes soon. There is no real winner in this logocontest for me too.

I have hope. Yesterday the dev posted something asking about ways of co-ordinating the community to get things done. It wasn't specifically concerned with branding or PR, but after the past two weeks I doubt anyone hasn't realised how important it is to get this stuff right.

There is a professional group involved w/the branding, I should have more details later this afternoon

With the REV1 work wrapping up, tomorrow I will be focus'd on all the loose ends, and also the team will be using a new task management system[to organize the project], bounty's will be offered as there is a lot of work left to be done in a short amount of time.

Nice one. That's great. If you need anyone to edit or write copy for the site, etc. PM me.

So I need a very efficient  way to organize and manage this project effectively with the community.. and I think something like or similar to hitask... any recommendations?

Seriously though it is a valid point. When the developer goes "OK don't worry; instead of anonymity, I'll have Visa and Mastercard integration next week." that should be an immediate red flag.

that is not what I stated at all.. and the retail solution is a long term effort..
