Looks like mining profitability is going down, and fast. Is there any reason to think it will still be profitable to mine altcoins one month from now, and/or that profitability will go back up?
Mining is very volatile and for most of the time the profit margins are very tight. The large profitability you saw recently was an anomaly because of the increased public interest. There are times I have to stop mining because it costs more to pay electricity than I could profit off of alt coins. The low hanging fruit has been picked. Prepare for several months of pain.

It will be marginal. ASICs for scrypt coins will not have the same impact that they did for sha256 coins. Preliminary calculations for existing FPGA solutions being migrated to ASIC fabrication so a very small gain. Taking into account the cost of starting an ASIC fabrication means that there is little to no profit in it. At the rate that difficulty is increasing the Alpha Technologies ASICs will be less efficient than the next generation AMD GPUs that will come out the same time.
This s why I think that Alpha is a scam. They cut their refunds for preorders the closer they get to delivery. When people realize that the ASICs will be no better than the GPUs available at that time they will already be locked into the prices with a large loss in resale value.
The largest impact they will have is that they will allow affordable mining operations in locations that have high electricity costs. To any miners operating in in regions where the elec cost is .10/kW or lower it has little effect.

They have not wheres near to capital to produce an ASIC unit. The natural progression is to go to FPGA first. Recoup the cost of FPGA and then is the FPGA profits to invest is ASIC. Moving directly to ASIC with "unproven code" means higher failure rates.

Alpha Technologies... Butterfly Labs in sheep's clothing.

Is TAG forked? Seems that there are two different blockchains out there.
did you read any posts at all? yes and I can't believe the dev has not resolved it. How can it still be forks for this long. This coin cant stand as a currency if it can't maintain a reliable blockchain.

BTW: this is but the first wave of Speculative investors. Each succeeding wave will increase exponentially in strength and duration due to the network effect.
Most say this is a bubble.
Incorrect. Your just a noob. I've been through 3 "first" speculative waves and each one was called a bubble by the newbies that were attracted by it. and the next one is always bigger.

any ideas?
I've had to write my own software that times mining to market prices and difficulty. coinchoose has been worthless for that.

Ok, so, I posted this in some thread; Why put time and effort, into a coin that will be dead soon? In regards to IFC, and, it was deleted, instead of responded too, which pissed me off. Let me explain something to you IFC supporting retards, who obviously don't have the first clue, about how a crypto network works; IFC is designed to run out of mine able blocks, very quickly. Once this happens, there will be no worth while incentive, for miners, to continue mining it. If miners are not mining it, there won't be any blocks found. If no blocks are found, there will be no confirmations. If there are no confirmations, there can be no completed transactions. If there are no completed transactions, you can't move your fucking coins, anywhere. Yes, you'll still get transactions fees, blah, blah, blah. Nobody gives a shit about tiny transaction fees. Most of us, were borned and raised into capitalism, and, we have power bills to pay. 99% of people, will move on to a different coin, that is actually profitable to mine. This wake up call, has been brought to you today, by the letter, F. Can you point to where in the code the hard cap is what the lowest possible block reward is. Then do the math to extrapolate when the cap will be reached. It's a long time from now.

Maybe you should put more effort into your other failures at building coins instead of just cloning what is currently hot right now. What will you do next month? If spots is hot will you just clone that one too?

Coordinated pump and dump by a few individuals. They sold off a Lott of their BTC and LTC for it. Will be interesting when miners leave after the difficulty skyrockets and another 51% attack hits it.

why is their so much btc on each price level on BTC-E vs other currencies, eg LTC on usually has say 4, 1, 0.3 or 2 btc, but FTC has 10, 20, 60, 50 etc.
I also noticed CNC was like FTC in this regard, PPC is between FTC and LTC
I just can't figure out why or what it means?
There are a lot of bag holders when ftc was opened on BTCe much higher than it is now. They are doubling down to break even or try to turn their loss into a profit.

Download the "windows binary" for your particular coin, then extract the folder and run "xxxcoin-qt.exe" for the wallet.

Anyone else getting cloudflare? Is this the return blow from Cryptsy? Could be mtGox. Freeze LTC on btce so it is not tradable and allows price to go up on Fox.
