8002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2018-2019 betting on: January 16, 2019, 09:48:18 AM
This is very much a big help for some of us here that were new to gambling and betting, Im an NBA fan ever since and maybe with my experienced in predicting games in nba maybe its my time to try and gamble. But Im gonna gamble only with those matches that I believed that were in my sides, the best odds maybe

That's the motive of this thread, You can use OP's picks to analyze matches and pick a more safe side of the bet (according to you), if they say "two heads are better than one", then multiple heads here should be better than two, I suppose.
8003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The market is recovering or just adjusting to the price . news on: January 16, 2019, 09:18:16 AM
A small price jump still says nothing. Today the price has risen, and tomorrow has fallen. Therefore, so far it is difficult to expect something, you need to wait and watch.

Every price of bitcoin since a few weeks till date now has been very temporary, Just a slight difference on either positive or negative only show a kind stability rather recovery, For it to be considered as recovery it should at least hit the 5k - 6k range.
8004  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2018-2019 betting on: January 16, 2019, 05:08:18 AM
Tuesday - Jan 15 Warriors -1 vs Nuggets +1
Pick is Warriors -1 (winner)

That was a big win for GSW, a whopping 51 points in the 1st quarter, they went ahead to win every single quarter.. Stephen Curry was indeed terrific as you predicted.

Wednesday- Jan 16 Jazz +2 vs Clippers -2

The Clippers are in the 3 losing streak and they are still playing at home in this game, though the Jazz is currently on a hot streak, I think they'll have their first road loss at Clippers, so I'm backing with the Clippers this time.

Pick is Clippers -2

In as much as I'd have love to go with you, I'll have to go with Utah Jazz on this one, they look unstoppable atm  Wink
8005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Constantinople Hard fork to be delayed on: January 15, 2019, 10:40:39 PM
If the fork is moved a few days, it certainly will not change much.
After all, this bug has been found on time and will certainly be fixed quickly.

I don't think so, as it has been stated already that in the article that the vulnerabilities can not be fixed before the upgrade would launch and that's what brought the delay but, hopefully it wouldn't takes as long as the first postponement took to get an estimated date for the upgrade.
8006  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The forum is more knowledgeable than you could Imagine on: January 15, 2019, 10:22:34 PM
Great first sentence i agree 100% and im telling this people since at least couple years.
Knowledge is best way to earn in Bitcoin world.

About your goals for 2019. By me its a little too much on your plate for one year. I mean its possible to some extent but when you write that you want to become Expert or get to know some programs at advanced level. It takes way more than that. Best hackers study PHP whole their life and only then they are master level at it. They know it better than developers of PHP themselfs.
I would focus on one graphic program and one programming language. If you would achieve expert level in both, sky is the limit.

Yes, I'd agree that I might need to slow down a bit on some. I have already been familiar with PHP and MySQL programming for a long time (about 6 years) Just had to stop to focus more on my studies as an undergraduate since my course of study belong to Biological sciences and programming became more of a distraction than a knowledge adventure. My aim is to at least get to know PHYTON and JavaScript at a beginner's level, while other goals wouldn't be much time consuming for me due prior knowledge.
8007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ethereum Constantinople Hard fork to be delayed on: January 15, 2019, 10:06:07 PM
The much anticipated upgrade to Ethereum network is set to be delayed yet again to a yet to be known date due to critical vulnerabilities discovered on the to be implemented upgrade, according to Coindesk.

Smart contract audit firm ChainSecurity flagged Tuesday that Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 1283, if implemented, could provide attackers a loophole in the code to steal user funds. Speaking on a call, ethereum developers, as well as developers of clients and other projects running the network, agreed to delay the hard fork – at least temporarily – while they assessed the issue.

Participants included ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin, developers Hudson Jameson, Nick Johnson and Evan Van Ness, and Parity release manager Afri Schoedon, among others. A new fork date will be decided during another ethereum dev call on Friday.

Discussing the vulnerability online, the project’s core developers reached the conclusion that it would take too long to fix the bug prior to the hard fork, which was expected to execute at around 04:00 UTC on Jan. 17.

Called a reentrancy attack, the vulnerability essentially allows an attacker to “reenter” the same function multiple times without updating the user about the state of affairs. Under this scenario, an attacker could essentially be “withdrawing funds forever,” said Joanes Espanol, CTO of blockchain analytics firm Amberdata in a previous interview with CoinDesk.

He explained:

“Imagine that my contract has a function which makes a call to another contract… If I’m a hacker and I’m able to trigger function a while the previous function was still executing, I might be able to withdraw funds.”
8008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP competing places with ETH? on: January 15, 2019, 09:10:10 PM
I think that Ripple is just pumping the cans, and in fact it will not be able to make a real competition with Ethereum!

That's the point but, I'm surprised with how vast majority of people rather believe in this facade that is destined for doom. It will just be very sad to see so many people get trapped in to XRP's blind vision.

8010  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Appeal RegulusHr on: January 15, 2019, 06:45:17 PM
That's an almost unprovable assertion, unless perhaps you know which posts you copied and went back and deleted them.

I know for a fact that banned users have access to their profiles. I also thought it was in read-only mode and they cannot delete/edit posts.

Can anyone confirm they can do that post ban? If so, that's fucked up.

I think banned users can delete posts, but just can't edit them. I have read about it somewhere on meta(I think) about a similar issue of deleted post by a member after ban.
8011  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Appeal RegulusHr on: January 15, 2019, 06:26:12 PM
one post from December 2017 was found, which was placed in ANN topic and in which I expressed support for a project. The text written was taken over from other post, since I fully agreed with it.
You've admitted to have plagiarized, that wouldn't change a thing.. You could have quoted and add "I agree with this" with an additional point at least, that'd have been considered more reasonable

I would like to point out that at the time I have been a relatively new member of the forum and not yet fully aware of interpretations of all the forum rules.

I'm sorry but I would not consider that as an excuse to plagiarize neither do I think mods will, as a newbie If you do well enough to seek rules guiding the bounties you participated in and adhere strictly to them, then you should have done as well to find the rules governing the forum, which in my opinion aren't far fetched..

I'm sorry about your account tho, but the damage is irreparable..
8012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any valid reason to continue gambling? on: January 15, 2019, 02:23:24 PM
The only reason I think is valid enough is knowing that you're in absolute control and you can stop if you so wish at anytime overlooking all initial losses or gains. In order words the valid reason to continue is when you're sure not to be addicted and not in compromising losses.
8013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 15, 2019, 02:10:32 PM
snip

It might not be as easy as you think, Liverpool's team looks to be wearing out already, they're no longer as terrific and convincing as they were, and it's almost that time of the season where an in-depth squad will duly be needed Liverpool doesn't seem to have that and can't afford to rest or lose any of their star players to injury, from the edge I'm sure Man City has better chance due numerous players that could be called upon to give the most important players a needed rest without slipping up.
8014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 15, 2019, 12:54:35 PM
After the win of Manchester City yesterday the Premier League looks wide open again. If Manchester City manages to win all games from now and to beat Liverpool also in the returning stage , chances are high we may see a rollover. However I am a fan of Liverpool and I hope they win. One thing is certain though, whenever Liverpool runs for the title the Premier League is quite good to watch.

Yes, the league is still pretty wide open between both Man City and Liverpool, but just so you know, they've played the return match of their fixture already, They played out a goalless draw at Anfield where Mahrez missed an injury time penalty, The returned was played a few weeks ago which Man City won 2 - 1 at the Etihad Stadium.
8015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 15, 2019, 07:39:10 AM
Wolverhampton Wanderers just played one of their worst match against Manchester City in this English Premier League season, they had one player sent off after 19 minutes into the game, one penalty was also awarded to Manchester City by the referee but I think Raheem Sterling did actually dive and the penalty should not be awarded. Things just seems to get more worst when Wolverhampton Wanderers scored an own goal in the second half, overall it was still pretty interesting to see this match ended up with one red card, one penalty given and one own goal scored.

Yes, Indeed it was a terrible night for them(maybe the worse match ever), the scoreline could so easily have been different, I'd guess the early red card had its impact on the matche too but, Wolves managed just 3 goal attempts, 0 shots on goal, and 1 shot off, while Man City pulled 24 attempts, 9 shot at goal and 7 shot off.
8016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin on: January 15, 2019, 03:23:00 AM
I think that is over ambitious, I never doubt that Ethereum has a huge potentials and indeed would be even a bigger coin in the future, but hoping Ethereum would overtake or thinking that'd happen is something which I think is currently out of sight. For the foreseeable future i don't even think there's a slightest chance of that happening because Bitcoin isn't slowing down in terms of its market capitalization or dominance over all altcoins, Ethereum however has lost its 2nd spot on few occasions to ripple.
8017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Listing on exchanges has no effects anymore on: January 14, 2019, 11:55:08 PM
in my opinion, coins with real use are reliable. In the long run, the market does not need coins that are useless. coins that rely on hype will not live for a long time.

I'd agree with you on this but, the problem with a vast majority of coins these days is that their only Real use is for trading on exchanges i.e. they are of no significance whatsoever to the ecosystem, that's why they cease to exist within the shortest period of time.
8018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 14, 2019, 09:56:12 PM
I tip Man City score at least 3 goals in this fixture.
...And boom there you go!

I’ve had a bet for Man City 3-0 Wolverhampton. I don’t suspect Wolverhampton will be able to cole with the wage after wave of pressure & attack from the home team. Easy home win in my opinion.
That's a bet won for you already! Hope I'd get a share of the winnings  Grin
Congratulations mate, and Many more wins to come!
8019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 14, 2019, 09:49:18 PM
Coutinho was desperate for the transfer, he got it so he can’t moan about being on the bench too much. He needs to improve.

I bet he wishes he stayed at LFC now though, he missed a CL final by moving & a title race now.

That's unfair!
Coutinho was starting pretty well and was an important until he got injured and was out for about 2-3 weeks, Then he was being slotted back into match squad gradually(for 3 matches) as expected and has played for full time in the last two games.
8020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2018-2019 betting on: January 14, 2019, 07:42:07 PM
Pick on previous day : Denver Nuggets -4.5  - Loser, did not cover 113-116 Denver > Final score
Oh well, You've got to lose some to win some. We go again!

Monday - Jan 14 _ Rockets -6.5 vs Memphis +6.5

The Rockets will travel again at home to face the Memphis after a loss in Orlando, I like the spot that they are playing at home again and coming from a big loss, normally they will bounce back to the winning side.

Betting on the Houston Rockets -6.5

I'm going in with this one, Thanks. Their last match was a close affair until they blew it in the 4th quarter.

Adding..... I also like Boston in tomorrow's game, they are in a 2 losing streak, they will work harder in this game.

Bet : Celtics -4.5 against the Net

I'd like Sacramento Kings vs Portland Trail Blazers match-up more, Your thoughts on this please ?
