8021  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to start trading with a very small amount on: September 03, 2016, 10:54:45 AM
I would recommend you taking a look on the coinmarketcap website, it's always important to keep an eye on cryptocurrencies with higher trading volume.

Looking for coins that have high volumes is cool and all that, but it doesn't mean you'll get a profit from that specific coin. You still have to know what you are doing and accept the high risks of investing in altcoins. They are mostly being bought just because people are hoping for a pump, and that's about it.
8022  Economy / Speculation / Re: When can we expect sub $350 price? on: September 03, 2016, 10:35:21 AM
If centralized exchanges keep getting hacked, people will avoid leaving bitcoins in exchanges (if they haven't stopped doing so already). Some bad press will come from the events, but there will be no long-term damage. If we have survived Mt Gox, we can survive anything.  Smiley

People should stop leaving coins on an exchange at all times, not just after an exchange got hacked. This is something that certain people don't realize. They leave their coins there unused for quite a long time, just because it's easy to dump them directly as soon as something happens. This has to change. It's a form of laziness that is very dangerous and can cost you your coins.
8023  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2017 Year of the Bitcoin on: September 03, 2016, 10:30:52 AM
For 2017, i don't think it will be a year of bitcoin. Because there is no big news on 2017, but we don't know though.

So you already know the news for 2017? Care to share?

Rico

The development of the bitcoin has slowed a lot recently. I think the trend will continue in 2017. So the price will not rise much.

Maybe the more cryptocurrencies introduced in the market the more it slow down? It probably creates more confusions especially to newcomers and to most people that have less or no knowledge at all.

Bitcoin will always be there holding some price, but I think 2017 will be the year of altcoins and we will see many new and innovative coins launched by that point.

The thing with altcoins is that they are only having gimmick features that are nice to talk about, but in reality don't get used a lot beside for speculation purposes.
8024  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: September 03, 2016, 09:13:03 AM
keeping money with a bank would be a safe and prudent decision because there are no uncertainties of Fiat losing or gaining value while keeping your money in bitcoin would be a gain or loss for us

If you keep for example $1,000,000 in your bank account for 10 years, then the amount will remain the same, but the value of that $1,000,000 will decrease throughout the years. Your $1,000,000 will buy you significantly less compared to 10 years ago. That's a very important thing you overlook here.
8025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: September 03, 2016, 09:05:47 AM
I doubt that will be the case at least in our current time, I think bitcoin can change the way money and economy works but banks are an established part of it, I think it would be more reasonable for bitcoin "banks" to appear sometime in the future when bitcoin is more mainstream.

Let's say Bitcoin does very well, and manages to reach 1% of the world population to adopt Bitcoin at some point, then still there are the other 99% where banks play a very important role in their life. Bitcoin won't even make a dent in the bank's way of doing business and how they exist. People must forget about that.
8026  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-09-02]Bitfinex Reimburses First Bitcoin Exchange Hack Victims on: September 03, 2016, 08:41:27 AM
Bitfinex has reimbursed its first wave of customers.
Announced 1st September, the Hong Kong bitcoin exchange revealed it had purchased more than 1% of the blockchain debt tokens it issued to users in August as a way to pay them back for losses it incurred in a debilitating hack.
While a small step to recovery, analysts were largely positive about the move due in large part to the exchange's decision to purchase the tokens at an above-market value of $1 each, roughly double the market value when the redemption took place.

http://www.coindesk.com/bitfinex-reimburses-first-bitcoin-exchange-hack-victims/

That just makes me laugh. Are people really that stupid to think it is a hack that caused the exchange to "lose" 120K BTC? Of course, it's not 100% sure that it has been like that, but the signs are there. I am still waiting for Bitfinex to publicly share the addresses where all these coins have gone to. Still something they didn't do....
8027  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is Blockahin.info hacked? on: September 03, 2016, 08:34:40 AM
I have an account there with a very small amount, and so far there is nothing wrong on my side. Just contact them and have it sorted out.
8028  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: September 02, 2016, 11:17:00 PM
I like parper money and i want to use it, i can't understand why people say that digital money is better when they using paper almost everyday.

Nowadays I barely use cash money since I use either my bank card with NFC, or my smartphone with NFC to pay for things. It's much easier and doesn't require you to have any cash money with you. Here you can use NFC in 80% of the stores. The need for cash money is decreasing with the years.
8029  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: September 02, 2016, 11:08:20 PM
Bitcoins is really good as currency but if i need to chosse where to invest my money it's would be gold for sure, cause % of risk is much more lower.

Lower risk equals lower rewards. That being said, it's of course good that you know what the risks are, and act accordingly, but with the potential that Bitcoin has, it is a far more interesting investment option than Gold.
8030  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin replaces the money? Could happen? on: September 02, 2016, 10:54:44 PM
Well, BTC is money  Wink But I understand that probably you were thinking of fiat currencies.

No, I do not think BTC or any altcoin will REPLACE fiat anytime soon as cryptocurrency is alot different than fiat so people will need proper education and a huge amount of adaptors to consider BTC at least as much important as fiat and even that time BTC would not replace fiat, just grow next to it in popularity.

The whole point that people fail to understand is that Bitcoin DOESN'T need to replace fiat.

Totally agree with this. It is still more convenient if we have lots of payment option than to rely in only one institution.

What if there's no internet? What if no device where available? Can bitcoin can help us with a situation like this?

Yup, fiat is far superior when it comes to offline transactions. That being said, it's the only thing that makes fiat better than Bitcoin in that aspect. In all other aspects, Bitcoin is much better.
8031  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin replaces the money? Could happen? on: September 02, 2016, 10:12:12 AM

The whole point that people fail to understand is that Bitcoin DOESN'T need to replace fiat. I am sure people prefer Bitcoin to stay as it is right now. Bitcoin at this point enjoys some sort of freedom that people should be happy about. That freedom is gone as soon as the government releases its rage on Bitcoin. That's why Bitcoin is much better off staying an alternative form of money.
8032  Economy / Speculation / Re: What did I tell you? BTC will stay down under $600 on: September 02, 2016, 09:48:44 AM
Staying under 600 $ is not bad thing, as I see situation bitcoin is worth double more then 7 months ago when I joined. That is a good price, and its nice that you have good prediction skills, you can use that skills to earn coins with trading. Price is stable for some time, and for me that is good sign.

Price will go up, I don't doubt in that. In the end of the year, or next year for me is not so important. Price is already high and one day, sooner or later we will touch that famous 1000 again, I would love to see that.

That's correct, the current price isn't all that bad. However, many people here don't look back at what kind of increase we have had previously. They only care about the price to go up from current levels so they can sell at a profit.
8033  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you Still believe in Fiat? on: September 02, 2016, 09:42:08 AM
I use fiat. Correction, everybody uses fiat. Do i believe in fiat? do you mean to ask me that I believe fiat to hold the value of my investment? NO! because we all know that inflation is just eating into all currencies and it's investments like stocks, properties and crypto currencies that offer better opportunities to growth your wealth and to counter inflation.

But even after saying this, I believe fiat will stay here for a while and people will keep using it. And this debt thing is just the way the world is going to work. It's not easy to break out of it and even if people starts adopting bitcoin or any other cryptos, debt will be there and "debt" is the weapon wise and cunning people use to control other common people.

Quite a few people think because of the fact that they are using fiat, that they also believe in it. How can you believe in something that is decreasing the value of your wealth. It's that people don't care about this, or simply don't know that it is actually happening. That I find very worrying.
8034  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will there ever be another bubble in Bitcoin? on: September 02, 2016, 09:03:57 AM
There's always going to be speculation on another bubble and of course it's going to happen. It would be very unlikely that we'll ever see a huge spike like when Bitcoins went from worth a few dollars to over $1000 though.
That is easy to spot and I encourage everyone here that once we see the price is skyrocketing we should ride with it because it might be the start of another bubble but do it with timing as you will also need to sell your bitcoins immediately when the price starts to fall.

I'm not going to wait when the price is falling in order to sell. I prefer to sell at the time the price is still going up, which for me has been working out very well. This of course depends on the type or person, but I am not that greedy to keep waiting for the top price.
8035  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: September 02, 2016, 08:56:24 AM
its saving to save my money iam choose bank
in my money want to growth is very fast iam choose bitcoin wallet in trade altcoin or trade bitcoin fiat money
you statement is not clear. but I assume that when it comes about saving you'll choose banks.
and you'll use bitcoin only for trading.
let me tell you that saving in bitcoin is more profitable. even bitcoin price is unpredictable but in the bank your money will remain same no matter if you save them for 10 years or 20 years. but if you save in bitcoin you'll possibly earn double porfit.

Leaving the coins in your wallet can give you a decent profit, that's right, but only on paper. In order to really benefit from the profit you made, you have to secure profits, or at least start spending coins.
8036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin help poor countries? on: September 02, 2016, 07:50:50 AM
i am sure that bitcoin can help poor people but not sure about this that either it can help poor countries or not. i think it depend on their policy if they allow their people to use bitcoin and their people become rich in bitcoin atumatically it will help their country to develop

People won't become richt by just using Bitcoin (not even in wealthy countries), for that they need to make a massive investment, which is exactly what they don't have. These people need a smartphone and internet connection in order to make use of a light weight Bitcoin wallet. Without that, there will be no Bitcoin for them.
8037  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price we would be at if Btifinex disaster didn't happen? on: September 01, 2016, 09:22:52 AM
I often think about this nowadays. We were on a spectacular uptrend. Core team was about to launch 0.13 and the halving happened, we were on the good track, but Bitfinex happened, ruining the good uptrend with the stupid ass dump. Fortunately we recovered quick, but the uptrend is not as strong and will take some more time now to go 1000+ again.

The good news is that we now have several exchanges rather than 1 dominant 1.  That makes us stronger for any future hacks.  i think we would have dropped to $550 like we have done and then the uptrend continue.  Finex just made us drop further.

Bitfinex wasn't really a dominant exchange as even traders there are looking what is happening at exchanges as OKCoin and Huobi. The other exchanges just follow their path. Only some times you see that exchanges don't want to follow the Chinese exchanges all the way up. Then there is a gap of $20-$30 between China and the west.
8038  Economy / Speculation / Re: The panic dump is on! on: September 01, 2016, 08:49:05 AM
Y'all panic dumps are making me money so I love it keep going guys sell em all Smiley nah just kidding don't be scared and sit on them, promise you profit in 2017 easily.. probably 2x

No matter what you say to these weak hands, they will dump with the slightest form of fud or panic. These people will never change. So yes, smart traders are using them to gain profits and buy up their coins. Without these people, the market would be a whole lot less volatile.
8039  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: September 01, 2016, 08:29:21 AM
I would chose bitcoin wallet as long as it's a desktop wallet where I can control my coins.
When you think about it it's the best thing to do just turn your fiat in to bitcoins and be your own bank on your own computer or any other device you use.

Still, I feel banks are better secured, and it is just my opinion. Also, I don't keep all my money in the currency which is fluctuating quite a lot on daily basis. But I consider bitcoin as an investment option and put some of my money into it and enjoying the profits and never even think of keeping all my money in bitcoins.

I think people see the fact that their money is secured till a certain amount as a form of safety. And it also is a form of safety, but for the very wealthy people with millions in their bank accounts, they will by far not get their money secured. These are mostly the people that look to invest their money into something.
8040  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: September 01, 2016, 08:19:15 AM
Hard question, when ever we speak about future for me its hard to see what is right and what is wrong. Like all the comments in this topic have some chances to realize in the future in my opinion. Some have more, some less chances but I saw too many surprises in my life and for me everything can happen.
Many times mentioned ethereium is also crypto currency. Why people think eth can replace btc? Isn't there enough space for both? Or even some other crypto also?

People follow the volatility and profitability of certain coins. If in this case Ethereum brings them profits in the time that Bitcoin is slow and barely moving, then of course they hype up Ethereum. People haven't been any different. From the very beginning of my time in crypto people have always been running to the coin(s) with the most volatility. If it gives them profit, then it's a fantastic coin according to them, but if the party is over, then they drop that coin real hard and move to the next target.
