8021  Economy / Reputation / Re: cryptohunter's problem with the top 200 merit receivers on: December 22, 2018, 01:44:02 AM
So nothing then that would matter and nothing would be hugely different if you had not been here.

<snip>
I have that evidence whether you chose to believe me or not until it is presented is your problem.
Here's some truth:  I realize that the forum would be just fine without me, and the world will keep spinning and functioning just fine if I dropped dead tomorrow.  I don't see myself as some powerful figure on bitcointalk, because I'm not.  I've made errors in judgement and on occasion have had to reverse trust I've left and/or apologize for being out of line.  I'm just one member out of millions on this board.

You don't seem to grasp that much of what I wrote about importance to the forum is true of yourself, however, and I base that statement on everything you've written about yourself and about other members in the past week or so.  You're demonstrating some sort of persecution complex mixed with an ego trip, and you're nowhere near as important or significant as you think.

Bring all the evidence you have against me for the vague offenses you claimed I've committed.  You all but promised to do so, so I'll be waiting in Meta.

BTW, how the hell did I get sucked back into this shit?

8022  Economy / Reputation / Re: cryptohunter's problem with the top 200 merit receivers on: December 22, 2018, 12:57:53 AM
I ask again bring any accomplishments of yours proving you have been net positive here.
OK, I got put on DT2 and then was made a merit source.

I'm one of the most generous merit-givers here and try to act like a manure spreader, letting the merits fly all over the place, hitting as many different users as possible.

I got accepted into one of the most competitive signature campaigns on the forum, for which I'm grateful.

I've tagged a lot of account dealers who later turned out to be complete scammers (you can go through the feedbacks I've left yourself).

I've reported about 4000 posts, 99% of which were good.

Oh yeah, marlboroza left you a neg and then removed it, right?  I apologize; I honestly forgot about that.  You might think you're the center of my universe, but it's actually easy for me to forget insignificant idiots and the feedbacks they've received.

Edit:  Just to let everyone else know, none of the above is stuff I'd brag about, but cryptoscunter asked for some accomplishments and seemed like he'd keep asking me until I provided some evidence....of whatever.
8023  Economy / Reputation / Re: cryptohunter's problem with the top 200 merit receivers on: December 22, 2018, 12:44:43 AM
Your personal thread is coming moron.
I can't wait!  Can you give me an estimate on how long it's going to be before you create that thread?  I gots ants in my pants, so don't take your sweet ass time, k?  I'm just itching to see what you think I've done wrong and want to hear how bad the community thinks I am, too.  Maybe I'll get banned!!

By the way, you keep issuing challenges here, but if you expect people to bend to your will and your requests and your ranting lunacy, you're going to be sorely disappointed--but I'm sure you'll use it as more proof of your superiority and of the conspiracy.  So just sayin'.

And FYI, last I checked the only person who's left you a neg recently is Lauda, so your rant about all of this red trust you're being given doesn't make a lick of sense.
8024  Economy / Reputation / Re: cryptohunter's problem with the top 200 merit receivers on: December 21, 2018, 11:49:48 PM
You all just made a very big mistake.
<snip>
Get ready to be fried alive jackals. Come to meta when you are ready.
<snip>
you are a gang of jackals that has been waiting for a Lion to destroy and reduce you to the snivelling little dregs of this board you are.
<snip>
I have crushed you in public like ants.
<snip>
Bring me one just one instance where you have defeated me since I have found out about this bunch of bullies you are and started to highlight how gross this entire situation is turning.
<snip>
I will now crush you all in meta for this you scumbags.

You are of negative net worth here on the basis of pushing your own agendas and trying to suppress and bully people that do not fit in with them.
First thing that comes to mind is a quote from one of the characters (Francis Dolarhyde) in the novel Red Dragon (pp. 168) by Thomas Harris right before he bites the lips off a reporter and sets him on fire and then sends him strapped to a wheelchair down a hill (great novel, BTW):

"You said that I, who see more than you, am insane.  I, who pushed the world so much further than you, am insane.  I have dared more than you.  I have pressed my unique seal so much deeper in the earth, where it will last longer than your dust.  Your life to mine is a slug track on stone.  A thin silver mucus track in and out of the letters on my monument.  I am the Dragon and you call me insane?  My movements are followed and recorded as avidly as those of a mighty guest star.  Do you know about the guest star in 1054?  Of course not.  Your readers follow you like a child follows a slug track with his finger, and in the same tired loops of reason.  Back to your shallow skull and potato face as a slug follows his own slime back home.
"Before Me you are a slug in the sun.  You are privy to a great Becoming and you recognize nothing.  You are an ant in the afterbirth.
"It is in your nature to do one thing correctly:  before Me you rightly tremble.  Fear is not what you owe Me, Lounds, you and the other pismires.  You owe Me awe."

This is all barking and no biting by cryptohunter, just braggadocio and bluster.  I'll see you in Meta for whatever show you're going to put on.
8025  Economy / Reputation / Re: cryptohunter's problem with the top 200 merit receivers on: December 21, 2018, 09:30:52 PM
I was wondering why cryptohunter would be attacking DT and quality posters, while at the same time trying to get copy/pasters unbanned.
This is turning out to be one of those times where my brain feels like every neuron has been twisted into a pretzel.  Fortunately I can still wiggle my toes.

My guess is that we'll soon find out if cryptohunter hails from the Dindu tribe, very common on bitcointalk.
8026  Economy / Reputation / Re: Vod gives unfair trust rating on: December 21, 2018, 07:53:42 PM
Vod isn't obligated to tag anyone.  He does so on his own time, without pay, and for the benefit of the forum.  Complaining that you got tagged while others didn't is absurd, OP.  DT members are human beings who don't tag every single member for every single offense.  Everyone has a limit as to how much patience they have, how much time they're willing to put into tagging scammers and rule breakers, and sometimes members who deserve red trust don't end up with it.  Leave it be.

You're basically the kid in class who got caught cheating and is expelled and you're saying "but professor, look this one and this one are cheating too! Why don't you expell them too?"
And yeah, the snitchy little bitchy type of response that OP's making here leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
8027  Other / Meta / Re: The general "condition" of this forum on: December 21, 2018, 07:42:13 PM
It's looking like the crypto community would be better off WITHOUT this forum.
Nah, the forum isn't that bad.  What I'm wondering is whose alt you are and why you thought it necessary to make this thread--I seriously doubt you're a newbie if you've figured out how many problems the forum has, even though most of them are glaringly obvious.

A lot of members are trying their best to bring about some positive changes here, but the forum isn't a democracy.  The admins decide what changes get made, and to what extent they listen to the average member's suggestions is anybody's guess.

As others have said, if your point is to just say the forum is pathetic and sucks, then nobody is forcing you to be here.  If you have no hope that things are going to get better, maybe it's for the best if you left bitcointalk for the time being.  Check back in a year or so from now to see if any improvements have been made.  Do us all a favor, though, and don't spread pure negativity without any intention of helping things.  Most of the senior members know how bad it is, but it doesn't do any good to just say things suck and leave it at that.

Edit:
Good luck- an admin can please delete my account.  This place is trash.
K, bye.
8028  Other / Meta / Re: Alternatives to Permabans for plagarism on: December 21, 2018, 05:27:44 PM
I think there's a big difference in someone quoting something from Wikipedia to answer someone's question, and those that purposefully copy someone else's post here or 'text-spin' it just to earn from signatures
If the member isn't citing Wikipedia as the source, then I don't see any difference at all between those two cases.  I've seen a lot of cases where people are copying stuff from all over the internet in order to answer questions and passing it off as their own original answer.  That's plagiarism.  The text spinning stuff is more devious, but we're talking about the difference between a criminal who leaves his fingerprints all over the doorknob vs. one that tries to clean up the crime scene--the offense is the same.

I don't think there's a problem with the way things are now, except that not all plagiarizers are created equal and there are two that I know of that I wish had gotten some leniency--but I also understand how important it is to be consistent with rule enforcement.

Hilariousandco, you know that when people get permabanned, they go right back to doing it with a new account.  Hell, you've even suggested it a few times and I've begged you not to give that kind of example to people.  So I don't think a signature restriction would work at all--they'll just abandon the account.  The merit solution has problems, too, unless it's a very high amount.  We know merit gets traded and sold.

Part of me wants to see leniency for established members who may have fucked up early on.  Maybe there could be an amnesty date set somewhere in 2016 or something, i.e., if you plagiarized after x/x/16 but have a good post history/positive trust/[insert whatever else here], you'll be banned like everyone else.  It's definitely a tough call, because if you show mercy to some based on subjective standards, there's going to be an outcry from those who didn't get any mercy (and probably other members, too).

I voted for keeping things as they are.
8029  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Harvey Weinstein didn't rape anyone on: December 21, 2018, 04:59:59 PM
I don't watch news, but it's pretty damn hard to not have heard of his situation and the #metoo movement and so forth, and I am somewhat familiar with the accusations.  It'll be interesting to see if it goes to trial or what he plea bargains to--that hasn't happened yet, right?  Don't feel like googling it right now.

I'm a very firm believer in seeing the accused (not just H.W.) get a fair trial for rape claims and not a trial-by-media, because I'm old enough to remember the Tawana Brawley case as it happened, and I've seen other false rape accusations made against men since then.  OP, you might have a point about the women knowing what they were doing--Hollywood seems to be a very corrupt place--but somehow I get the feeling that Harvey Weinstein is not completely innocent.  But I don't know for sure; nor do most other people, and that's why he needs a trial with evidence presented.  It's not like women haven't used sex to gain advantage/jobs/favors from powerful men before, and prostitution itself is the "oldest known profession".

Whatever the case may be, I think the media is getting ridiculous with these "he touched my breast 30 years ago, and now I'm going to ruin his life" stories.  That's not quite the same as the HW case, but it's related and it's not a trend I'm fond of.  Men shouldn't be pigs, but there's a big difference between flirting (even persistently), small sexual harassment, big sexual harassment, and outright rape.  It seems like every offense is moving toward the "rape" category, and that's insane to me.
8030  Other / Meta / Re: Multiple accounts plagiarized OP in Bitcoin discussion on: December 21, 2018, 09:04:20 AM
would love the board to be the healthiest on forum.
That section would need a strong dose of medicine and cured of a lot of illness before it even came close to being the healthiest.  It's so bad on Bitcoin Discussion that even the mod has probably thrown up his hands out of frustration and is likely watching TV as well.  And I don't blame him.  It's like a quadruple amputee trying to get rid of a serious cockroach infestation....in a 100-story building with no elevator and no help.

OP, if you intend on going in there again, put your gas mask on and do your best to keep reporting the plagiarism.  What Meta needs right now are more ban appeal threads, because it's been at least 15 seconds since I've seen a new one.  But on a positive note, if you do report them they WILL get banned.  That's the good news.  The bad news is that the plagiarists and spammers are like those goddamn sinusoidal-moving bats in old NES games that keep infinitely respawning.

This isn't a job for one member.  It isn't even a job for Superman.  Theymos needs to descend from the heavens and strike that section with a bolt of lightning.  I think this has been suggested before, but my memory may be failing me.  In any case, good luck pulling your hair out.  You can buy Rogaine by the case pretty cheap on eBay if you don't mind the Costco brand.
8031  Other / Meta / Re: Bad language, can we make it a better place? on: December 21, 2018, 08:48:26 AM
you'll be strangled by my nutsack wrapped five times over around your windpipe

top 10 ever insult there.
Was trying to demonstrate how much fun can be had without actually using curse words.

*Gets 10 merits*

Hey, is this some of that jerkle-circusing merit sources and senior members keep getting accused of?  Keep this up and they might start accusing us of being homer-sensual preverts.  Once I finish cleaning up the nocturnal emissions from my linens (my fault, not yours), can we get this thread back on track?
8032  Other / Meta / Re: Bad language, can we make it a better place? on: December 21, 2018, 07:15:57 AM
You have no idea how tempted I am to take the bait--but if I do, one of two things is going to happen:  you'll be strangled by my nutsack wrapped five times over around your windpipe, or I'll get my post deleted.  Thus I will spare us both the potential indignities and cease writing now.  This is one of the times I don't trust myself around a keyboard.

Edit:
heh pussy.
And there'll still be enough left to give you the nuclear purple mushroom cloud treatment.
8033  Other / Meta / Re: HertzCoin [Reason for ban] on: December 21, 2018, 12:53:00 AM
I want proof of plagiarism. I did not copy other people's messages. Maybe incorrectly quoted.
OK, so I'm curious now.  That post of yours that suchmoon quoted wasn't trying to quote anything, it was straight-up spun text.  Now that you have concrete proof of plagiarism, are you satisfied?  Do you deny doing this?  Do you think there was a mistake?
8034  Other / Meta / Re: Bad language, can we make it a better place? on: December 21, 2018, 12:48:23 AM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5085320.msg48686973#msg48686973
This post is just offensive words and nothing more. Maybe such posts isn't something what we need, but in this context it made me laugh Cheesy
That post made me chuckle as well, and I'd say that it was some well-placed profanity, i.e., it was perfect in its context.

I used to use foul language on bitcointalk a lot more than I used to, though I just made a post today that wasn't exactly clean.  Vod always says small minds use profanity, and although I disagree because the statement is too broad, I do think swearing a lot on a discussion forum gets very old very fast, and I try to limit my F bombs and other bad words.  I'm generally not trying to irritate more people than I already do.

That said, I always find TMAN's profuse profanity extremely funny.  I think I may have posted that already in this thread, but I'm too lazy to check.  He manages to curse in a humorous way, which may offend some snowflakes and may be against the rules, but I'm cool with that.
8035  Economy / Services / Re: ★☆★ Bitvest.io - Plinko Sig. Campaign ★☆★ (Member-Hero Accepted) on: December 21, 2018, 12:06:53 AM
Guys, you are still trying to hold onto your seat on the Titanic.  If anyone sticks with this campaign or any of Lightlord's that Lutpin manages, you're suckers.  Pure suckers.  My advice to all of you is to remove your signatures until you're paid off.  Then if Lightlord announces that there's a new campaign manager, reapply or do whatever you have to do, because right now the situation is pure lunacy.  How patient are you supposed to be when you've done your "job" and haven't been paid?

The powers that be in these campaigns obviously don't even have enough respect for you all to even let you know what's going on.  Why don't you start respecting yourself enough to stop working for free and making excuses for poor management and just hoping you get paid?  Jesus F Christ, open your eyes people!
8036  Other / Meta / Re: Let us devise a Sensible solution to Copy and Paste situation. on: December 20, 2018, 10:08:44 PM
Maybe I'm off on an island alone here
Someone is off on an island somewhere, but it isn't you.

If I wake up one morning and find a flaming bag of shit on my porch, I'm not going to bring it inside and try to nurse it back to health.  That doesn't even make sense, right?  Well, that's exactly what I think of OP's idea.  The plagiarists are the flaming bags of shit, and they need to get the fuck off the porch.  Mods have been damn good with the fire extinguisher and porch-cleaning, as have been the members reporting the plagiarism.  No sympathy should be expected or given to these people, no second chances, no nothing--just a ban, and as I've written in recent threads, they should be given one example of something they've plagiarized in the ban PM and that's it.

The ban appeal threads are getting monotonous, and these people are not the folks most of us want around bitcointalk.  There's no complicated solution necessary for these idiots' actions.  Ban.  Boom.  Gone.
8037  Economy / Economics / Re: Which industries don't need blockchain? on: December 20, 2018, 09:46:32 PM
I am yet to hear a good argument for blockchain in healthcare. <snip>
I'm no expert on blockchain tech by any means, but I'd love to hear good ideas about how it could be implemented anywhere in the healthcare field, pharmacy services in particular, and if it would truly offer an advantage.  My opinion is that people are trying to crowbar the tech into industries that don't really need it, and they're doing it for their own gain and not to actually solve problems.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is the postal system.  Seems like a blockchain would be a good tracking system for 1st class mail (letters), which doesn't currently exist.  I'd love to be able to track regular letters I send without having to pay for priority mail.  Yes, I still pay my bills through the mail, and I also use the postal system to purchase stocks.  I'm very old school.  And as it stands, there's no tracking system for a letter sent with a $0.50 stamp on it.

As an aside, I can't stand most of the posts in this thread, which are mostly generic shitposts that aren't even addressing the question asked in the thread title.  God damn you sons of bitches and your spam.  And I guess the question is which industries don't need blockchain tech.  My intuition tells me that the list is a pretty long one.

In any case, I haven't seen it getting adopted by many companies in order to improve their businesses, and bitcoin itself is now 10 years old.  It's not like there's a secret that's being kept from the corporate world.
8038  Other / Meta / Re: why is it banned on: December 20, 2018, 09:15:54 PM
I can bet a vital body part that there would still be the same 1-2% of banned users asking the same questions even if they get a certified letter in the mail with a handwritten note from theymos explaining why they got banned.
Even if that was to be the case, members wouldn't feel the need to spend their own time looking for examples of plagiarism.  The answer to the banned member would be:  "See the PM you got" and that would be the end of it.

And I would not take you up on that bet, because you might be correct--but we'll never know unless my suggestion gets a trial period at least.
8039  Other / Meta / Re: why is it banned on: December 20, 2018, 07:45:38 PM
The message already says "spam or plagiarism" but that's not stopping them. Even when told "why" they won't stop asking.
Two points:  1)  It can't hurt to show an example of the plagiarism and might stop people from asking, and 2)  People could at least stop wasting their time looking for examples to show these idiots; they can just refer them back to the ban PM.

I also don't like the way "spam or plagiarism" is written, as it might come across as ambiguous to a banned member.  I think if it's spam the message should say that.  If it's plagiarism, an example ought to be shown in the PM.  My suggestion would not make anything worse and might help--the question is whether it would be too difficult to implement a change like that and whether anyone with the power to make the change agrees with me.  Probably not, so I'll stop suggesting it.

So OP is a liar with his incoherent denial--what a shocker.  Usually plagiarists tell the truth, and I'm disappointed in you, OP.
8040  Other / Meta / Re: why is it banned on: December 20, 2018, 07:26:44 PM
If there's a legit reason why that account is banned (and it's probably plagiarism), hopefully the mods will check the trust page and see all those other accounts he's linked to, which should be banned as well.  That's up to staff, though.

Here's another reason why the exact reason for a ban should be included in the ban PM.  At the very least, it would stop these people from asking the same question (why I'm ban?) over and over.

OP, did you copy and paste content from anywhere on the internet into any of your posts without citing the source?  That's usually what these bans are for.

Edit:
I read it with my own mouth than anyone else ??
And by the way, I just looked at your post history and you've got to be one of the worst shitposters on this forum.  You should have been posting on the local boards exclusively, as demonstrated by garbage like the above quote.  Hopefully this is a permaban, because you're nothing but a bounty spammer and I'm hoping more of your ilk get banned.
