8041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your betting budget on: July 24, 2021, 08:41:20 AM
You must be a great sports bettor then because when I am betting on sports, I am just losing my wallet quickly. I guess since you don't have that much time, it might not be a bad idea to become a tipster because we have very few legit tipsters in the bitcoin gambling industry and there's always need for more good ones.
I have never really considered doing that. I know some people who tried being tipsters and it's all milk and honey when your tips are winning, but as soon as you start losing or end up in a negative streak, your customers start blaming you. Some guys have received threats as well.

When I said I don't have that much time, I also meant I don't follow sports as closely as I did in the past and have less interest in analyzing teams and their performances to have the data to be a profitable tipster.
8042  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [Table] All Lightning Network Threads In One Place on: July 24, 2021, 08:12:42 AM
Update:
All the most important threads about the Lightning Network from 2017 have been added to the table.
In my next update, I am planning to take a look at 2016 and see what we have there.
8043  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism: Where Do We Draw the Line? on: July 23, 2021, 12:53:32 PM
For newbies to "watch" those rules and warnings, can a dedicated board be offered where, once a newbie signs up, must be redirected and forced to read the rules and "agree" through clicking a button that they have read and understood the rules of the forum?
It again boils down to whether they are going to read that or just click on 'agree' and 'continue' to get rid of the notifications and warnings and access the forum as soon as possible. My previous post with the countdown proposal achieves a similar result for those who want to see what is in front of their eyes. At this point I will support almost anything that involves making the rules about copy-pasting and spamming more visible.
8044  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to Setup Telegram Bitcointalk SuperNotifier V2(TryNinja's Bot) on Telegram! on: July 23, 2021, 09:29:24 AM
So, if I understand correctly, the bot does not have access to our cell phone number? I must admit that I do not know much about how Telegram bots work.
Telegram users in general can't see the phone number associated with your Telegram account. So, even if you and me where having a private chat over Telegram, we can't see each others cellphone numbers. But if you add me into your contacts book or I added you, we would both be able to see the phone numbers of our accounts. My guess is that Telegram bots don't have any additional permissions or that they can spy on us. Maybe they make logs of IPs that access them!?
8045  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: July 23, 2021, 09:11:16 AM
8046  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Remove Proxyban (evil fees) - email to get whitelisted for free on: July 23, 2021, 08:45:45 AM
I think it would be a good idea if this thread became a sticky in Beginners & Help. I have PMed theymos about it, so let's see if he agrees. If LoyceV keeps it updated with information about other whitelisters as well, it can be the go-to place for everything concerning newbie whitelisting.
8047  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Kako Ukloniti Proxyban (evil fee) besplatno? on: July 23, 2021, 08:37:48 AM
@dkbit98
Osim LoyceV i hugeblack, ima još par korisnika koje možeš dodati na listu. Tu su još i SFR10, Welsh i Upgrade00.

Code:
sfr.edits@gmail.com
Code:
whitelist.welsh@protonmail.com
Code:
hugeblack_whitelist@protonmail.com
Code:

Evil fee dobijaš ako ti nalog bude banovan.
8048  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetJA.com | The highest Payout + Free BTC + Multi-Bet Insurance on: July 23, 2021, 08:21:51 AM
@Betja.com, the website has a problem max bet also, when I push the max button, the bet doesn't follow my balance has, be an error Insufficient funds and I should write it manually like 0.000001. I think it's a waste of time and makes the user missed an opportunity because the ods are online and have a change every time/second.
Betja is aware of that and it has been mentioned before. I don't remember if they said that they are going to change it, but I also believe it should be changed to reflect the maximum bet that can be made considering the balance of the user. The way it is now, it shows the maximum wager you can place on that event no matter how much money you have in your betting account.
8049  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Square is considering making a hardware wallet for Bitcoin on: July 22, 2021, 04:33:35 PM
Jack confirmed they will make their upcoming hardware wallet fully Open Source from hardware design to software:
They previously hinted that their hardware wallet might be custodial and if that wasn't the case, this announcement about a fully open-source software and hardware would be something to look forward to. But even if they say that it's going to be fully open-source, I don't think everything will be made public. When the upcoming Trezor device was discussed, I remember finding in the announcement a sentence that says something along the lines of almost completely open-source.
8050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: July 22, 2021, 04:11:17 PM
Thanks, that's really interesting. Whenever I see handball (only in the Olympics really), it looks like a great sport. It's not very well known here (UK) but it should be. I'd love to give it a go one day.
I have always wondered myself why the British don't play handball considering how popular it is all over Europe. But even basketball doesn't have that big of a following in the UK. No British teams participate in Euroleague, Eurocup, or the Basketball Champions League. From the top of my head, I can only remember two NBA players that I am 100% certain come from England: Ben Gordon who used to play for the Bulls and Luol Deng (not sure where he played).

Still not as fun looking as volleyball;)
Especially women's volleyball. Shocked
8051  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Remove Proxyban (evil fees) - email to get whitelisted for free on: July 22, 2021, 09:19:40 AM
Instead of having multiple email addresses for each person who can do the whitelisting, why don't you guys create a shared account that you will all have access to? I am sure that the 5 or 6 of you tasked to do it can trust each other to share the same password. You also know enough to not get phished, keylogged, etc.

That will make it easier.
- All the emails go into the same place.
- Whenever you are doing whitelisting, you just take the next unread application from the list, work on it, and mark it as either solved or denied for everyone else to see.
- Any application that isn't being worked on should remain unread until someone takes a look at it. That avoids 2 users from working on the same application.

If everyone has their own email, users could apply to be whitelisted with multiple people. Rejected by #1 and #2, but accepted by #3. This would prevent that unless they come back with an alt account.
8052  Other / Meta / Re: 100% deletion rate for topics and posts into marketplace on: July 22, 2021, 08:55:36 AM
Should this really be in Meta? Yes, it's about a forum-related issue where moderators are deleting his threads, but he is just using that as a cheap attempt to promote his site in Meta. Which he did in the second sentence in his OP.

Isn't this the same guy who said that he has been eating out of trashcans for months and asked for $5, or am I confusing him with someone else?
8053  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Ledger and Electrum addresses don't match on: July 22, 2021, 08:10:07 AM
I couldn't find anywhere on Ledger Live to see the associated paths for the accounts.
That's easy.
  • Open Ledger Live.
  • Click on the "Accounts" button on the left side.
  • Find and click on the correct account that you are looking for.
  • In the top right corner you will see a wrench icon. Click on it to see the account settings.
  • Click on "Advanced".
  • Find the line that says "FreshAddressPath". That's your derivation path, copy it.

You don't need the whole thing. Use the format that nc50lc wrote down previously.
You might see something like m/49'/0'/0'/0/7'' depending on how many addresses you already used and funded on that account. Don't pay attention to the last two digits because you don't need them.
8054  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How can I use electrum to receive payments on my site? on: July 22, 2021, 07:39:04 AM
I know that it's not what you are asking for, but if it doesn't have to be Electrum, have you given any thoughts on BTCPay Server? It's free, fully open-source, and you pay no additional fees.

I have bookmarked Awesome Bitcoin Payment Processors some time ago after someone recommended it in a post.
It's a list of different bitcoin processors that you can integrate within your website to accept bitcoin. Take a look and see if you can find anything useful on the list.
8055  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: July 22, 2021, 07:08:27 AM
<Snip>
I think you are right. I did make two withdrawals and one deposit when testing the service. After the first withdrawal, I ended the session and started another one with half of the previously withdrawn coins. That 0.002 BTC shown underneath could represent the last amount I deposited, played around with, and withdrew.
8056  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: July 21, 2021, 07:26:51 PM
I took part in the beta testing round for the v3 edition of ChipMixer. I've shared my feedback with you over PM and I found no problems with the service. A few hours ago I tried to resume my session just to see what would happen. I entered my session token and noticed this:

It shows the total chips as 0.000 BTC, but underneath that it shows a chip size of 0.002 BTC. I have never had to restore a session in the past, so I don't know if this is the usual layout or not. The coins have already been imported and moved, so why does it show a 0.002 BTC balance in the second field? Was it like that before as well or is this a visual bug?
8057  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetJA.com | The highest Payout + Free BTC + Multi-Bet Insurance on: July 21, 2021, 07:16:35 PM
@Betja I have a suggestion and some feedback.

I noticed that you don't pay out the winnings for confirmed events until the end of the match. For example, if I place a bet on over 2.5 goals, and the confirmed result is 2:1 after 60 minutes of play, the winnings will only be paid out once the match ends.
Another example I faced recently. I placed a bet on both teams to score. After the first half, the result was 1:1, meaning I won the bet. But I had to wait until the match ended for my winnings to be paid out.

I play on popular fiat bookies and on some of those, the winnings are paid out as soon as the events are confirmed. If I place a bet on both teams to score, I'll get my money as soon as the result is confirmed and the match resumes. There is really no reason to wait for the match to end. I think that is something that could be improved to make your service better and more efficient.
8058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: July 21, 2021, 03:49:10 PM
This has got to be the third time in recent times I've seen someone talk about handball a lot:) Saw a few video clips online, it's not bad, and for sure not an easy sport I think my elbow and arm would die after 5 minutes. But is it really so big over there like to people play it regularly with each other like football? Trying to understand why it's so popular!:)
I take it that you are not from Europe based on your comment. Handball is a very popular sport in Scandinavian countries, but also Germany, France, Spain, the Balkans... African countries also invest in handball but they aren't nearly as good as the European nations. It's interesting to mention that the European handball championship is a stronger tournament than a World championship because teams from Asia, Oceania, and Africa take up spots that could be occupied by stronger European nations.

Handball is very demanding on the shoulders, so your shoulders would probably suffer before anything else. Handball players know how to block your arm before a shot to hurt and tire out those shoulder muscles or stretch them out. Handball is certainly in the top 5 most important sports in Europe, but not nearly as popular as football or basketball. There is a joke or saying of some sorts that handball was invented in Germany so that young German men who weren't talented enough to play football could play another team sport. I am not sure where that joke comes from.

It's a fast-paced team sport with a lot of result changes, plenty of running, physicality, strong shooting, etc. Give it a chance if you have time.
8059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your betting budget on: July 21, 2021, 01:16:34 PM
In the past, when I was much more into gambling on sports, I used to play with a bank of €1.000-€2.000. I looked for value bets and played only single events wagering €80 to €100 per selection. At the end of the month, I would calculate my profit and I found that to be working quite OK for a few months. Since I don't have the time to go that deep into match analysis as I did when I was younger, I had to give this up. I am now an occasional player.
8060  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallet Deals on: July 21, 2021, 12:48:41 PM
That's one of the better discounts I have seen in a while when it comes to hardware wallets. It's less then €44 per device which currently makes them cheaper than the Ledger Nano S. If I had a friend or relative who needed a hardware wallet as well, it's an opportunity we wouldn't miss. Just make sure you set up a good passphrase with plenty of entropy and you are all set.

but I am waiting to see similar promotion for Trezor Model T, maybe tomorrow.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Not yet, at least. I assume Trezor is trying to clear out their stash of Trezor One's.

Is there any info regarding how long the Trezor One will continue to be produced? Especially now when they are working on a new type of wallet with an almost 100% open-source secure element.
