I'm boosting the maximum administrator pay from 9% to 10%, because the article admins have stopped scammers and drivel, which would of been more than 10% of the earnings. I don't know how charities keep administration at around 11%, it may be that they count some costs which devcoin considers administrative under other categories.

Thanks! You're awesome, Smiley. I'm glad you like the work us new admins have been doing, and I plan to continue with it!

Ok, so nobody has any idea as to the shares for round 25, what about then the end of the round.

I read several times by reputable guys in here the end of round 25 is 97,300 but in the past there was the "end" and then another 1,000 blocks for the actual literal end.

Can anybody comment on this?  Is 97,300 the real end or the 1,000 block heads up end?  I wrote only 3 articles all month long, this past month, due to serious family problems, but I really want to get at least a few articles in for this round but I don't know how much time I really have left.

Anyone

Much appreciated.

Thank you!

The end is at 97.3k. The other 1k is for making changes as needed (ex. someone should not be getting shares and such due to plagiarism). That time is just so there is a little more leeway for getting things taken care of instead of having people pop in right before the 97,300'th block with their spam in the hopes that they get "locked" into the system before they get caught.

So is that 1,000 extra blocks already in this 97,300 or will it be added to the 97,300 and so then one can write until 98,300.  In the past there was always a 1,000 block heads up.  TIA.

Almost positive that the cutoff is 97,300. The extra 1,000 blocks isn't for getting new content in, but rather so if we find discrepancies we can take care of them before the finalization occurs. Otherwise people would go spam the heck out of the site at block 97,290+ so that they could be finalized at 97,300. This gives us a thousand blocks (10 days or so) to go through and see what needs taken care of.

That's my understanding at least. Otherwise they wouldn't say the cutoff is at 97,300 but 98,300, :p.

How do you cut down on stales with coins that move this fast? I've got over 800 accepts now but a stale rate of almost 25%. On LTC, same pool, I have a stale rate of less than 0.1%...

Is there some setting we need to change?
8067  Economy / Services / Re: FREE BTC! BTC Faucet Timer/Rotator! on: July 12, 2013, 07:27:41 PM
Hm, seems to be down...

Appears the entire network crashed again... =/. I'll update when I know more.
8068  Economy / Services / Re: FREE BTC! BTC Faucet Timer/Rotator! on: July 12, 2013, 04:36:28 PM
Update: removed both of the inputs.io faucets. The first one keeps erroring out and the second one doesn't pay (even when you have a balance and choose to pay out, it sets the balance to 0 and gives an error about not having anything to cash out).
8069  Economy / Services / Re: FREE BTC! BTC Faucet Timer/Rotator! on: July 12, 2013, 01:41:05 PM
your site is very useful but so far have not received any payment.

Have you gotten higher than the threshold? Due to the change in minimum payments, it takes a little bit to get a payment. Also, around 1/2 of the sites use coinbox and the rest handle their own, so you will need to pay attention to each site to see what is required in order to get your payment as some require you to request them manually. Until then, you will keep adding them to that site's "bank" though, so you don't lose anything regardless.

thanks for the info, I'll be more attentive to the conditions.

No problem! Each site that's there has been verified to pay by me, as I go through them as well, Smiley.
8070  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Re-Sync QT Clients to Blockchain? on: July 12, 2013, 01:40:29 PM
This is because Windows' icons won't allow pending anything to the end if it's in quotes it appears...
For future reference, note that if the name of the .exe file is in quotes, any parameters must be listed outside the quotes, eg:
Code:
"bitcoin-qt.exe" -rescan
Anything inside the quotes is treated as though it were part of the filename as opposed to a parameter (the whole reason for using quotes in the first place is to allow for filenames containing spaces, which would otherwise result in only the part before the space being recognised as the filename, with the rest of the filename being treated as a parameter list).

Ahhh, got you. Thanks for the help! Learn something new every day, :p. I've never altered the targets of shortcuts before.
8071  Economy / Services / Re: Rent out your signature! Up to 0.25 BTC / month on: July 12, 2013, 08:13:08 AM
In other news, for now we stopped buying new signatures. So please don't apply anymore. We will open again in the near future.
Will you continue paying for another month after the current one runs up?
We will continue, but the model will be slightly different.

Can you give a heads-up as to what the new model is going to be like? Definitely looking forward to hearing this, Smiley.

Any update on this?

I'd like to know as well, lol. And when the new system starts... my cycle ends in a little over a week.

It'd be nice if everyone wasn't selling out too. Prices are dropping quickly and there are big walls on the buy side beating eaten up, Sad.
8073  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Re-Sync QT Clients to Blockchain? on: July 12, 2013, 07:50:13 AM
Ugh, worked for FTC. It's not working for LTC... it says there's no function.

Edit: I got it. For anyone that doesn't know, you'll have to use cmd (or a bat file) to go into your Litecoin client directory and then do it from there. This is because Windows' icons won't allow pending anything to the end if it's in quotes it appears... but if you use cmd/bat you can do it directly.
8074  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Re-Sync QT Clients to Blockchain? on: July 12, 2013, 07:43:39 AM
Just wanted to update. IT WORKED. Thank you so much, <3!
8075  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Re-Sync QT Clients to Blockchain? on: July 12, 2013, 07:41:50 AM
you need to run with the -rescan option.

In windows, probably a quicker way but, create shortcut to Qt

Right click shortcut and click properties

add -rescan to end of Target box entry outside of the quotes

open shortcut and wait

Good luck!

Thank you so much! I'm going to try this right now, Smiley.
8076  Other / Beginners & Help / Re-Sync QT Clients to Blockchain? on: July 12, 2013, 07:28:25 AM
Alright, I'm lost as to what to do here. Let's say someone has a few clients and keeps multiple wallets on each. They swap out the wallet.dat file when needed, so there is cold storage and a hot wallet.

Now... they update the client and download the blockchain, everything goes great.

They swap the wallets out to make a payment... oh wait, the other wallet is not showing any balances because it is starting its sync from where the last one left off (at the latest block). So the blockchain info is right, the client is not.

How does one go about making a QT client re-read the blockchain file to get the correct balance information?

This is not Bitcoin-specific, but with others like FTC, WDC, etc. that all use the QT.
8077  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders :: Get bitcoin loans, and earn interest on your deposits! on: July 12, 2013, 07:25:19 AM
== and != means they are equal
=== and !== means they are identical

For ==, if something isn't identical, PHP will try and make them equal by converting in types. For example, by converting the string '00000' into the number zero, and '000000000' into the number zero, which matches.

For your specific example (5+9 != 6+3), PHP will first work out the values of the left hand and right hand side (9) and then compare if 9 is equal in value to 9.

Ahh, thanks a lot! I'll quit filling up your thread now, :p. It was just odd to see that as I haven't (though I am limited on my PHP knowledge) ever seen it like that before, lol.
8078  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders :: Get bitcoin loans, and earn interest on your deposits! on: July 12, 2013, 07:21:00 AM

Little off-topic but shouldn't it be

if($password1 != $password2) { //stuff here}

??

Still a newbie at PHP but I learn as I go, :p.

Nah. PHP is a weakly typed language.

According to PHP:

NULL  == false
false == 0

So what's the problem?

echo '000000' == '000'; -- 1 (true)

Which means that if someone types the password 00000000 and 000, == (!=) would say they are equal, but === (!==) would not.

That's immensely helpful actually. So basically what you're saying is that !== means "even if they are equal in value, they have to be a perfect match," right? So that would also mean that if you did 5+9 != 6+3 it would be different than 5+9 !== 6+3?
8079  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders :: Get bitcoin loans, and earn interest on your deposits! on: July 12, 2013, 07:13:52 AM
You can't say you didn't do this to yourself. Enjoy your red text!

Snippet from CoinLenders source:
Code:
function userRegister($username, $email, $legalname, $password1, $password2){
global $mysqli;
global $passwordSalt;

$username = $mysqli->real_escape_string($username);
$email = $mysqli->real_escape_string($email);
$legalname = $mysqli->real_escape_string($legalname);

if($password1 !== $password2){
return "passmismatch";
}
if(strlen($password1) < 8){
return "passshort";
}
$password = hash("SHA256", $passwordSalt . $password1);

[..]

As you can clearly see, passwords are hashed and salted.

Little off-topic but shouldn't it be

if($password1 != $password2) { //stuff here}

??

Still a newbie at PHP but I learn as I go, :p.

Have you completed the x5 rollover? If yes, let me know and I will process your withdrawals.

That message is not an error, it is kind of self-explanatory. Our system doesn't let people who never made a deposit withdraw. We locked it this way, as we get a lot of withdrawal requests from people that didn't do the rollover or other requirements related to the promo, just signup and try to withdraw whatever promo we have running.

I looked all over what is the x5 rollover?

A rollover is a restriction on a bonus offered by a casino and is a multiplier of the bonus and a minimum deposit. For example, in a 3X rollover, you might be given $50 to gamble with when you deposit $100. In this example, you would have to bet a total of $450 ($150 multiplied by three) to earn the original bonus when you cash out.

In our case you need to have 0.05 in bets.

This. Just to clarify something as well, that is the TOTAL amount bet.

Ex. if you bet 0.01 and won 0.01, then bet it again and again and kept winning the original bet, after 5x you'd still have the original 0.01 BTC but would have now fulfilled the obligations.

FYI, going half-and-half on Roulette doesn't necessarily work. I had built up to 2x the starting amount on BJ, then started doing half red/half black on Roulette and hit a 0 so I lost it all, XD.
