8062  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Go for Another All Time High This Year? on: June 25, 2021, 09:18:24 PM
If Bitcoin doesn’t hit $115K by year end it will signal a breakdown on one of the most accurate prediction models. That departure alone might be enough to spook the market into a self fulfilling downward cycle of cascading liquidations. I don’t think it would be the end of Bitcoin, just the end of dreams of hitting over a million per BTC in 2025.
8063  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New website, BTCandME.net on: June 25, 2021, 09:15:18 PM
You could have at least included a link to the site in your post mate. I’m on a mobile and it’s a pain having to type in a url just to check out a site (at least these posts are paid by an advertiser). Do a solid step one and make a nice announcement post that at the very least includes a link to the site for those of us who are too lazy to type it out.
8064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley on: June 25, 2021, 09:12:45 PM
I feel like the Paul brothers might have peaked with the Mayweather fight. Logan gave it his best shot but just couldn’t entertain with a KO like we all wanted to see. His brother has done a good job of giving us knockout clips but we can only watch so many Nate Robinson type fights. If they can’t get Logan a big ticket next opponent I think these guys will only see their numbers decline from here.
8065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: June 25, 2021, 03:38:27 AM
Devin Booker and Chris Paul shot horribly, as did Paul George and most of the Clippers. Once again, DeAndre Ayton was the bright spot for the Suns. They need to keep CP3 from shooting the ball and get that mask off of Booker if they want to win. I’d love to see Ayton get 15+ shots per game too. He deserves it the way he’s been playing.
8066  Other / Meta / Re: An Alternative to Merit on: June 24, 2021, 11:44:57 PM
As a newbie, I read many posts that has quality. After reading the posts I'll feel like to merit the post, but as a newbie, I might not have a sendable merit, I will have no option than to slide on.
Assuming there is an alternative to merit just like "Facebook like" along side merit, it would favour me.

Atleast if I don't have merit to give, I will just click like and move on pending when I'll have merit to award the user.
This proposed "like" might likely not be used by admins, or neither shall it determine ranking, but it should just be a mere appreciation for a quality post when merit is lacking.

As an alternative, I would propose that all users be given a regular amount of smerit like we are all merit sources. The amount you get could be based off of some metric like account level, signup date, post count, or some formula, etc. That would seemingly make things as decentralized as possible, although the alt account issue ever looms.
8067  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: which pools are offering merged mining? on: June 24, 2021, 11:00:11 PM
It affects the pool code and increases the risk of BTC block stales.
i.e. as I said at the start, they are free, not worth paying for when (as you say) 80% of the bitcoin network gets them for free.

I’m not sure what you’re arguing here or how it pertains to domain censorship. I also don’t believe that 80% of Bitcoin miners are being given the NMC that their hashes are mining. I’d like to have a more clear understanding of what is happening to all that NMC by those pool operators that isn’t being distributed. Whether they’re dumping it, burning it, hoarding it, and who “they” are…

Although you won't get all of them you should be able to figure out some by following block explorers. If they mine a BTC block and they are merge mining NMC then there will be a NMC block mined at the same time. From there you can follow what happens to the coins that were generated.

You will not be able to figure out who is mining all the blocks this way but you will get a large portion of them.

My hope was that someone with more experience and who enjoyed doing this sort of analysis but needed a source suggestion for their happiness would step up to the challenge to answer these questions. I might be forced to take a look deeper myself for my own curiosity but I feel like there are definitely those out there capable of doing a better job.
8068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: June 24, 2021, 10:27:24 PM
Hawks shocked everyone, now we are talking of a possible NBA Finals for Hawks against the Suns, but it's too early, if the Clippers will win tomorrow, then we might see that series be more interesting as it could also go in game 7 like the previous 2 games of the Clippers.

Not shocked here with the Game 1 result between Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks. It's a series match and Game 1 is close. Atlanta Hawks does even have a chance to make it at Game 7. If they will able to win the series, that's what I will call a surprise to me. The Bucks will bounce back on that series. B. Lopez and K. Middleton, which play a big role in their series win against the Nets underperformed on that game so I'm expecting they will do some necessary adjustment next game.

On the other hand, Atlanta Hawks is really giving Trae Young the most shots. He just averages 50% FG on that floor but still makes it to 48 points. That's how he was trusted on the team as a main offensive scorer. His backups are also playing their respective roles at their best. I've said it before, a set of good role players is better than 2 or 3 superstars on a team.

Bucks @6. Cool

I’m shocked. I thought it would be Bucks in 4. Seeing them struggle with the Hawks gives me hope that the Suns might be able to bring one home to Phoenix this year. You’d have to go back to Charles Barkley vs Michael Jordan to get to the last time the Suns had the opportunity to bring home a chip. With no MJ in the way this time the odds are looking better and better.
8069  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: June 24, 2021, 10:25:32 PM
Perhaps this is a controversial stance but I think if praying is part of your gambling process you probably shouldn’t be gambling maybe. You have to remember that gambling is paying for entertainment and while some people use it in an attempt to get rich it doesn’t change the fact that you are paying for entertainment. Leave God out of your debauchery.
8070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 24, 2021, 07:21:31 PM

This looks very attractive, yes Kawhi might play in the series but the Clippers need to win game 3, and as per the news, CP3 might come back and that would be another big help for the Suns to increase their chances of winning.

That's tough for Clippers, having CP3 means the another sets of plays and defense to consider,
Booker's job will be less since CP3 will cater that playmaker thing.

If Clippers win this game 3 the odd will surely changes, just win one at the time and extend this series while Kawhai still on his unknown status. Mann and PG needs to jives, this young kid needs to step up and create more offense for the team, let him take the responsibilities and allow him to create space for himself.

I haven't heard CP3 will be back today.  That would be great if true.  I don't think the Clippers have any chance with CP3 in the lineup and Kawhi out.  Tonight is a must win situation for them as well since the % of winners in the playoffs when down 3-0 is less attractive than one might think.

I'll be watching.  Already getting ready for the game.  So happy to see my hometown team have such a great year.  Them being in the Finals almost seems impossible, but here we are.  Time to redeem the old Nash/Stoudamire/Marion team that deserved to be there.
8071  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Are you worried about the delta virus variant? on: June 23, 2021, 10:49:14 PM
My only fear of these “variant” strains is that it will lead to more of my rights being infringed upon by my government. I won’t be getting a vaccine and I am not worried about catching the flu.

Here’s a crazy idea. Human beings could go about their business as normal and not let the flu ruin all of our lives.

Imagine all the psychological damage being done to people who will probably live the rest of their lives wearing masks in public.

A reminder to make sure to log in to your nastyfans.org account and claim any coins you may have won. It is extremely important that this happens to avoid having to auction off unclaimed coins. I’d hate to think there are members out there who won’t be receiving their prize because they didn’t claim it. Spread the word to any possible NastyFans you may know to check their account.

Some talk about Kyrie being on the trading block after all his off court nonsense this year. It would be great if they could trade Kyrie for Westbrook and get the original Thunder 3 back together again. I think they’d be a lock for the Finals and it would be an awesome redemption story. I say go for it! Westbrook deserves the spot more than Kyrie.

8074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 23, 2021, 06:44:01 PM
^^ Thanks for the tips, I was just looking at the odds before the game, and thinking the over will be a good bet here. Over 222.5 is currently at @1.91 so that's a juicy odd already, so I'm going to go with the same bet as yours.

Although without Kawhi, it seems that Clippers have settled down with Paul George as the leading and then Reggie Jackson as the second option now. I think the key for them to win and stop that winning streak of the Suns is how to stop Devin Booker who is tearing them with his mid jump shot and assists.

That was a low-scoring game as defense on Booker is intense but still, they won via that alley-oop to DA.

Damn, I could not believe that a superstar's knees would buckle under pressure, missing two clutch free throws that could have sealed the win for the Clippers, I think this will haunt Paul George if they will lose the series  Smiley.

Paul George is only human after all, and having to count solely on him all through the series is going to take a huge toll on him, I mean you what happened to Kelvin Durant in the last game against the Bucks, these players are human and the fatigue is always they only barely get a day rest and people want the efficiency to remain the same or even better, ffs.

Paul George is no Kevin Durant.  He was on his way to being a top 5 player in the league when he destroyed his leg in that Olympic accident.  Since then he's had the ego of a top 5 player, but is far from it.  I'm not sure he'd make top 20.  If it wasn't for his reputation, I don't think he'd be an all star player.  He's let his defense slip and he's never been a dominant enough offensive player to carry a team.  Nowadays his nonchalant style leads to people routinely stealing the ball from him, or him throwing up garbage shots that don't go in at a high enough clip to warrant them.  I thought Kawhi was nuts to join Pandemic P over LeBron and AD.  This is exactly what I expected to happen.  I think it's only a matter of time until Paul George goes from a max player to being bought out and I was a fan of his (up until that ridiculous commercial where he drains a game winning shot in spite of having a horrendous history of missing game winners).

That Simmons situation is a nightmare. What’s going on in Philly? First Fultz and now this? I think some changes are needed in the coaching staff over there that go far beyond the head coach.

Suns vs Clippers game 2 in a bit. I hope we get some sort of a timeline for Chris Paul’s return. I feel like Booker might not be able to carry them for 4 games alone and I’m still on the fence about if Ayton can keep up his amazing postseason play.
8076  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does a Miner have a choice to the Transaction to Process? on: June 22, 2021, 09:22:05 AM
It should be noted that the above responses referencing a “miner” are assuming the miner is solo mining and not part of a mining pool. If you are mining on a pool you have no say what transactions are included in the blocks. The pool decides this, you as a miner on the pool only provide the hash needed to add a block to the chain.
8077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPUs are not being sold as fast as used to be on: June 22, 2021, 06:25:58 AM
I suspect come August there will be a lot of GPUs hitting the market that were mining ETH.  It also makes you wonder where all of that hashrate is going to go.  Ravencoin?  Beam?  Will that cause a massive price spike as GPU miners search for a profitable way to mine with their gear, or will we see a sale on GPUs the likes we've never seen before?  Personally, I think a bit of both.  There are going to be some big opportunities in the coming months as this scenario plays out, weave your way through the markets carefully.
8078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: June 22, 2021, 04:30:55 AM
No NBA today in what seems like the first time in a while. Tomorrow brings the Suns vs the Clippers for a game two matchup that will still not be featuring Chris Paul or Kawhi Leonard. Devon Booker stole the show in game 1, but Playoff P wasn’t too bad either. I’m looking for Beverly to be a pesky nightmare tomorrow and Paul George to be putting up lots of shots. I think DeAndre Ayton is the difference maker though. If he continues to dominate in the paint the Suns are hard to stop.
8079  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How the Government made you fat on: June 21, 2021, 08:35:25 PM
The conclusion I reach is simple: don't rely on the government to take care of you. Take responsibility for your own health.

This is very true.  True with food.  True with financial support.  True with housing.  True with vaccinations.  If you think these people have your best interests at heart, you are a fool.  We are merely viewed as cattle to them.  Similar to sheep that need to be just enough alive to continue providing wool for their shears.  What else do you expect from a government that doesn't tax candy but makes it illegal to grow food in your front yard?  You really think they care about you and your health?  If they did, they'd be donating to causes to help with medical care for the less fortunate, not forcing overpriced mandated health plans on the poor so that all of us non-elite are lumped together to carry the burden of public healthcare while the rich and politicians get to rake in profits with their healthcare investments.  They get reduced liability for the public's health situation, excluded from the public plan for their own elevated healthcare, the appearance of wanting to help, and tons of profits on their investments.  We get mandated healthcare plans, substandard care, high deductibles, and overcrowded offices.  All this while the foolish think they're trying to help...
8080  Other / Meta / Re: Lightning Network subforum proposal. on: June 21, 2021, 07:41:21 PM
Perhaps instead of trying to justify it’s creation with what already exists on the forum, a ‘build it and they will come’ attitude of faith is a more accurate approach. There’s an embarrassingly small amount of information available about the Lightning network on these forums for what is supposed to be the Bitcoin scaling solution. At the very least a thread with some organization of Lightning threads might be useful for those who want to support Lightning and it’s discussions.
