8061  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The only way to successfully trade the market "Best strategy ever" on: May 04, 2018, 07:46:50 PM
The probability of an event that the coin will grow by 500 is much lower than the probability of a fall by 250. So these strategies are theoretically the same.

not true at all, the probability of a coin growing by 500 vs fall by 250 is 50/50!.. the probability of a coin growing 1000% is exactly the same as falling 1%.

simple proof is when BTC was at 1$ a trader who set SL at .9$ and TP at 16000$ had a 50/50 chances regardless of what happened

price doesn't need to fall by an x % before growing x%. it doesn't work this way.

look at the chart and you will understand !
8062  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The only way to successfully trade the market "Best strategy ever" on: May 04, 2018, 07:43:09 PM
I'll try to summarize this for all you guys who want a TL;DR: basically the best practice is 2:1 ratio what this means is that after you buy you set your sell target at a 10% profit and set a stop-loss at 5% below the price you bought.

You can't do this sort of thing, if you have a stop loss at 5% you're going to hit that in a day in crypto.Crypto goes up 5-10 percent in the matter of a few hours, if you are to follow this you're going to miss out on some big gains in crypto -- if the market does go up.

If you put the stop loss at 25% that makes more sense and matches the crypto volatility -- do that and you'll be good. Set sell target at 10-15 percent.

Goodluck folks -- I still like HODL more then any other strat.

so you risking 25% for 10% gains ? good luck Cheesy
8063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what to do when outside temperature 80-85 deg F ( 27-29 deg celcius) on: May 03, 2018, 10:20:03 PM
So after I disabled the 3 hot GPUs from the rigs, other gpus are below 80 deg F (27 deg cel). I plan to just use a 6 gpu rig to hold these three cards ( they will have 6 inches ) in between and run them in the new rig. Hopefully it will help. Outside the temp now is 86 (~29 celcius) and all gpus are below 80 F (27 Cel)

what are you using to SEE those temps ? there is no way on planet earth that a gpu will run at 27 cel unless it's doing nothing !!

8065  Economy / Reputation / Re: A list of top 10 scams on the " Digital Goods " market. on: May 03, 2018, 09:25:31 PM
As is normal here, sadly this thread will be moved to "scam accusations" so no one who needs to see it would.  Scams are allowed to perpetuate forever here but these posts go into neverneverland.

This is honestly pretty terrible, but in my opinion, if we made a thread about the most common ways of scamming with digital goods, it would have a fair chance of staying in that section as long as it was not directed towards any users in particular. Something sort of what I described in my previous post would probably get the green light by the mods, although of course, I can't be sure. If I have time later tonight I might do it myself, but it does get annoying to have the same sort of sales in there that for those of us who are experienced are obviously scams.

Just not allowing LOCKED or SELF MODERATED threads in the DIGITAL sections would resolve probably 75% of the problem.  Not all for sure ... but a lot more than the posts that no one reads anyway.

exactly, ! and guess what my list which i was selling for free has just got deleted Cheesy . so is it possible that one of the scammers has access to a moderator / admin account ? since i am just newbie here, maybe somebody else should with better understanding for how this forum works should sell the list Cheesy

selling the scam list Cheesy, i do not think anyone has the right to move my topic else where !!

check it out Cheesy

You should charge .0000000001BTC but have the buyer drop a penney in a collection box to officially make it a sale.

for that we need to chose a coin that has 0 or low fees BTC transactions are kinda high :d.

let's see, i don think they will move it ! but should they do, then i'l charge a whole PENNEY for the list Cheesy
8068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CoinCalculators.io - Mining calculator website and mobile app. on: May 03, 2018, 12:38:53 PM
here are a few tips for easier browsing for the user.

1- set the default number of gpus to 1 instead of zero, disable all of them by default keep 570 / 580 on by default

2- for ASIC mining you have all algos checked, so calculating one algo the user have to un-check all by 1 by which is annoying.

also i noticed a bug, when i turn on " Unreliable coins" i get Sekin on rx570 even though the hash rate is 0 so i have to uncheck the algo which is a bad practice, i suggest your code should exclude algos that has 0 value even if they are checked.

aside from this , everything looks great. well done.

Hello,
1- default numbers are adapted for one 1080ti but after any change all the values are saved.
2- I understand you but you just have to do this only one time, after that all algos should be saved as unchecked for you.

Thank you for your tips, nice comments and the bug(now fixed) you have pointed out.

Good work

8070  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the risk necessary to make a big profit? on: May 03, 2018, 12:19:34 PM
there is no money without a risk, you take a risk of leaving your house in the morning going to work.

but you can always minimize the risk. applying a good Risk to Reward ratio is key !

feel free to read my post on Risk/Reward best practice

Thats a long story short thanks.

I just had to write a sort of detailed explanation especially for those who just started trading.

if people are interested I can make more posts on Technical analysis.  I am a newbie in this forum but being trading for good 6 years and willing to share what I learned so far for absolutely free.

cheers
8072  Economy / Trading Discussion / The only way to successfully trade the market "Best strategy ever" on: May 03, 2018, 12:06:55 AM
Hello people. let's get right into it.

what is more important than Technical , Fundamental analysis is  RISK - REWARD ratio.

as basic as it may sound, i am very certain that many traders do not have the best practice when comes to risk to reward ratio!

I will give you a simple math lesson to show you the power of this practice.

now assuming that every trade you have has a 50% to hit your take profit target , and 50% chance to hit your STOP LOSS target.

-------------------------------
1 - ( The worst practice )
now let us say you are the typical newbie who sets a very far SL and a tight TP target.

so,Bob is a newbie who has x amount of money  to trade in  "x " coin
Bob buys at price of 1000 points, sits his SL at 500 and TP at 1250 (because he is so afraid to lose so he keeps SL far away!)

Bob will lose 500 to earn 250.

assuming Bob will have 50/50 chances , which means in every 10 trades he will lose 500*5 and win 250*5
so 1250 - 2500 =  - 1250

Bob gets mad , yell at his wife, they divorce and then he blame the WHALES for his lost !

------------------------------------

2-  ( The average practice )

Steve risks 500$ for 500$  " 1:1 risk:reward ratio".

Steve makes the exact same trades but

2500 - 2500 =   0  - exchange / broker fees

-----------------------------------

3- ( The best practice )

Mike "me Cheesy"  risk 250 $ to make 500$  " 1:2 risk:reward ratio"

I make the same trades as the other two guys! get the same results

Lose 250 * 5 = 1250
Win  500 * 5   = 2500

I end up making 2500 - 1250 = 1250$ - exchange / broker fees

wife is happy, cat is happy and so am I Cheesy:
------------------------
now you might argue about the fact that 50/50 won't always happen.in fact using this strategy you will only need

3.5 / 10 GOOD trades to make profit!

3.5 * 500 profit = 1750
6.5 * 250 loss   = 1625
= 125 profit
------------------------------

now this is only 1:2 risk : reward ratio ! think of 1:3 !! . i personally never trade anything that less than 1:2 ratio , sometimes i go 1:5.

and to be honest I make so many wrong calls but in the end of the month my portfolio is in the green !!!

------------------------------

now in order for you to maximize your chances, you need to follow a strategy be it Support/ Resistance levels , MACD divergences , what so ever !...

Trust me people this is really the ONLY way to end up in green for the long run ! the power of Risk:reward ratio is AMAZING, i only started to make some good income after following this strategy.

and since i am not selling anything here, and you got nothing to lose. just give it a try !

you can try this method on a DEMO account to see how it works out for you!

and rememeber whatever you do , NEVER BE LIKE BOB

*excuse my poor English , please do not make fun of my spelling and grammatical mistakes Cheesy

8076  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia Safe Temps? on: May 02, 2018, 08:48:18 PM
The thermal cutoff is over 90c. Not sure why people say they throttle that low when they dont.

Every electronic chip that's ever made is more efficient and has a better chances surviving the long run at lower temps.

there is no exact figure that even the manufacturer themselves can tell you. simply because the usage / airflow / up time is always different.

8077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what to do when outside temperature 80-85 deg on: May 02, 2018, 06:35:23 PM
you do realize that the temperature unit you use is only used by handful of people around the world ( less than 5% of human beings)

so when you come to world wide place like this you should really use a world wide unit. ain't nobody going to do the math for you.

anyhow without having to know how hot is your 85 deg, a good tip would be to mine cryptonight based coins till the summer is over.
8078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia Safe Temps? on: May 02, 2018, 06:29:54 PM
What do you guys run you cards at in the summer?  What is safe 24/7?  Mine ran nice and cool in the winter but it's warming up now.  Have too many cards for AC, so I use exchange with outside air.  For 1070ti's and 1080ti's

anything below 70 is fine , the less the better. ideal is 60.

for me i use central ac units , got very cheap power rate so i don't care.

Based on the new flag system , Theymos states the following

Quote
If you flag many users, you can create a single flag-explanations topic.

This topic will be the "flag-explanations" for all flags against every scammer on the list below which contains the profiles of known scammers on the digital goods board , these scammers pretend to have gift cards for dirt cheap, hide behind locked/self moderated topics so that nobody can call them out, it's 99.99% that you will lose money dealing with any of these scumbags.
