8061  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin had a stable price, would it still be as popular? on: August 07, 2017, 02:17:14 PM
Right now, most of the users are hoarding Bitcoins, as the prices are rising day by day. If the prices remain stable, then neither the margin traders, nor the long-term investors will show much interest in the crypto-currency.
8062  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: About the legal situation of selling stuff with BTC on: August 07, 2017, 02:14:59 PM
My guess is that you are liable to pay taxes on any profit from your sales (even if the profit is in the form of Bitcoin). Because I have read about an incident in which a guy sold some of his stuff for gold coins. He had to pay a tax on the profits, after calculating the average gold prices.
8063  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legal bitcoin or illegal bitcoin on: August 07, 2017, 02:13:25 PM
Bitcoin ofcourse is legal, but others use it in illegal ways...they use it to scam others like onpals.. After they collect a lot of money, they will run away and take the money of the crying investors..

The legality of Bitcoin depends on the jurisdiction. In countries such as Singapore, Australia, Japan and South Korea, the currency is 100% legal. However in certain countries such as Thailand and Iceland, it is illegal.
8064  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin split to Bitcoin Cash! (BCH) Yep! You probably owe IRS a lot of $$$. on: August 07, 2017, 02:11:07 PM
My guess is that the IRS will not care, as long as you are not converting your BCH to fiat. Once you convert it to fiat, then you are liable to pay taxes as ordinary income (unless the transaction qualifies as long term capital gains).
8065  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A GANG of women kidnapped a man and raped him for three days on: August 07, 2017, 02:09:01 PM
Happens in Saudi Arabia also, but most of the time men kidnapping men to rape them and dump them in deserts.

There are some 1 million house-maids (mostly from Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India, and Nepal) working in Saudi Arabia, and 99% of them are raped every day by their employers. But yes, it is true that some of them end up as dead bodies in the desert.
8066  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China Builds New Military Facilities in South China Sea on: August 07, 2017, 02:07:12 PM
Once the americans build their own bases then I think that would be the fuse to light wverything up. What i think we should do is to make the chinese nation be held accountable by using the united nations to put them in court and make them explain and submit to the rules of the sea and territories that govern the asian region.

The United Nations is a toothless body incapable of not doing anything. Rather than expecting the UN to take action, the US must act first and secure what is left of the South China Sea. Else, China is going to swallow the entire region.
8067  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-05] Bitcoin breaks $3,000 to reach new all-time high on: August 06, 2017, 02:23:07 PM
High at $3355, next phase will be $5000! When these segwit and fork issue settles, bitcoin will skyrocket!

The BIP 141 lockin is just around 2 days away (457 blocks still remaining). Once that happens, BTC may hit a new peak. But a correction can happen at any time. Those who purchased the coins before August 1 may be tempted to book profit.
8068  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-05] 150 Bitcoin ATMs Coming to Ukraine on: August 06, 2017, 02:19:33 PM
Lol.. This reminds me of the ridiculous fake news which I read a few years back, which claimed that there are going to be 400 Bitcoin ATMs operational in the United Arab Emirates by 2015. Two and half years have passed after that, and still they don't even have a single Bitcoin ATM there. Here is the link:

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/dubai-400-bitcoin-atms/

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/20pyro/dubai_gets_400_bitcoinatms_in_two_weeks/

Let's hope that this is not just another fake news that while can create some excitement for Bitcoin may ended up only with some disappointments. Well, that fake news you talked about here is centered on the Middle East while the original post is talking about Ukraine which may have a better rate of Bitcoin adoption and a lax business environment.

Anyway, I am sure that a Bitcoin ATM operation can be profitable and am hoping that more and more business entities would look into this good opportunity of being in the forefront of the cryptocurrency revolution. Europe is a big market for Bitcoin and there is always that unexploited market for it as more and more people are getting aware of the currency.

I know that Ukraine is having a high adoption of Bitcoin. But even then, I need to ask a few questions. Isn't it better to start with two or three Bitcoin ATMs first and then expand it to 150? Also, few people are using Bitcoin ATMs nowadays due to the high fees.
8069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers have stolen my money on: August 06, 2017, 02:17:33 PM
Hi
My ID in blockchain  368ac49b-9f06-440f-b4ef-58343905e5bc
Yesterday I want get BTH on my blockchain wallet and finded video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRZHTt_lwBA&t=1s. I make step by steps by this video and as result all my money was stolen.
As I understand today thieves can do this after know my Backup phrase of 12 words and sent my money to 1Be7Ej9WA8ioDuqrRKCaGcCBM6Uu3Mci53. I don't know all this nuances, please help me return my money.
Thanks

Sorry to hear about your loses.

But the most worrying aspect is that the scammers have stolen around $210,000 till now, and the robberies are going on even as we debate about it. The original video was taken down from YouTube by the uploaders themselves, but it will be still getting circulated through other platforms.
8070  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: are bitcointalk accounts worth money on: August 06, 2017, 02:14:42 PM
Yes. They are worth a lot of money. Previously, Legendary accounts used to be on sale for as much as BTC0.25. But as the Bitcoin prices have risen, now such accounts may be available for as little as BTC0.10 ($300-350).

But what is the point in selling a legendary account, if you have one? Some of the signature campaigns are paying as much as BTC0.035 per week for the legendary members. You can easily earn around BTC0.15 in a month.
8071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cash is better than Bitcoin. on: August 06, 2017, 02:10:31 PM
Anonymity used to be one of the advantages with Bitcoin. But some of the recent events (such as one in Denmark where the cops arrested a drug seller after tracking his BTC transactions) have proved that Bitcoin is not 100% anonymous.
8072  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China Builds New Military Facilities in South China Sea on: August 06, 2017, 02:04:55 PM
As usual, the Chinese are creating unnecessary provocations. I suggest the Americans to take a more active role in the conflict here, rather than wasting their time and effort in provoking Kim Jong Un in North Korea.
8073  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is there going to be WAR in China and India ? on: August 06, 2017, 02:03:34 PM
There is no way that it is going to be a war. China is most powerfull economic force so i do not think that they will risk that postion by entering a war. India have other coutries beside them but not sure they are good enough to get anything from war.

India is not trying to "get anything", but we are trying to defend our territory. India had a border conflict with China in 1961, losing the Aksai Chin region in the end. This can't be allowed to be repeated. China must be held back, at any cost.
8074  Other / Politics & Society / Re: LGBT ARMADA IN RAQQA (SYRIA) EXIST OR NO? HOMOSEXUAL VS ISIS :O on: August 06, 2017, 02:02:03 PM
Abort female fetus is not in India, i dont have info about that.
If i remember was a china problem, but in the 'new' china i think is real limited to the rural area.

Is that the reason why China is exporting the excess male population to the foreign nations? If you look carefully, most of the Chinese immigrants to third world nations such as Indonesia and Angola are single males.
8075  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: August 06, 2017, 01:59:35 PM
Islam does not hate people. It is the religion of humanity.

I would believe you, if you could name a single country where non-Muslims can live without discrimination and harassment. I am living a few km from the Bangladeshi border, and I know how harshly the Hindus are treated there by the majority Muslims.
8076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC-e.com down ! Police detains the owner . on: August 05, 2017, 12:40:25 PM
This is the latest information from BTC-e that we have:

Quote
We were able to access our databases and wallets, at the moment we are evaluating data and balances on koin, this information will be made public by the end of next week.

Seems like the user-data is safe. But I am not sure about the status of the cold-wallets and the hot-wallets.
8077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So many BTC, we are far away from Satoshi Nakamoto's idea on: August 05, 2017, 12:37:40 PM
Eventually, either one of these coins (BTC or BCH) will establish itself as the market leader, and claim the top spot in the market capitalization. But it is not all bad news. Before the split, the BTC exchange rate was 1BTC = $2,800. Now the combined (1BTC + 1BCH) exchange rates are around $3,300. It is all gain for holders of BTC/BCH.

We will see what the price of BTC+BCC will be after exchanges open withdrawals and deposits.

OK... Most of the exchanges have opened BCH withdrawals and deposits, but the combined price has actually increased. Right now, the exchange rate for BTC is around $3,145 per coin (in Coinbase) and the price for BCH is around $226 per coin. So the combined price has increased to $3,370 from $3,300 a few days back (+2%).
8078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Anybody with $10,000 worth of BTC+Alts today should be a Millionnaire in 2025 on: August 05, 2017, 12:34:01 PM
So I need to step up my crypto-earning skills. Right now, I am earning around $25 per week and that translates to some $1,300 worth of crypto per year. At this rate, even by 2025 I will not be able to accumulate crypto worth $10,000.  Huh
8079  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you prefer? BTC or ETH? on: August 05, 2017, 12:31:01 PM
I have never had any faith in Ethereum. Most of the devs seems to be shady characters, including Vitalik Buterin. And see how the prices have fallen during the past few weeks. In Bitcoin terms, the value of ETH has crashed by 50%.
8080  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you successfully claimed your BCH ? on: August 05, 2017, 12:28:33 PM
I had my BTC on blockchain.info wallet. Before claiming BCC I transferred all BTC to another wallet, installed Electron cash wallet on a second computer, put in the private key from old blockchain.info wallet and got my BCC which I sent to Bittrex straight away. And now waiting for confirmations.

I was planning to do the same, and I had even installed Electron Cash in my mobile phone. But then I saw some posts here warning against the use of that software. So I am going to wait for another couple of weeks.
