8081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 90 BTC stolen! on: June 06, 2014, 10:17:19 PM
That hurts I am sorry to hear about your loss but those Bitcoins are gone
Cold Storage would have prevented it but you must have downloaded a keylogger that was able to send the Bitcoins somewhere else
8082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will increase the sales of storage devices at the end of 2015... on: June 06, 2014, 10:13:13 PM
I keep the full node on mine
18 GB yah it's starting to get big but I still like the full node as long as I don't need to redownload it
Difference between downloaded and waiting on the internet to update it.
8083  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Seriously? Printing HUMANS? on: June 06, 2014, 10:06:31 PM
Do we not have enough humans on this planet? And I know a few people who would be willing/able to volunteer to conquer space. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/05/printing-humans-colonize-space_n_5439073.html?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000592

I think it makes more sense to bring sperm cells and an egg
They are both lightweight and if genetics gets to the level that we colonize space it would make sense to program the bacteria but we already have a system that works.
That said  it makes sense to have a backup system just in case but if cryogenics is developed it would net the same result.
8084  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it my imagination or does Bitcoin tend to gravitate towards $666 on: June 06, 2014, 10:02:32 PM
Bitcoin is the currency of choice in Hell?

If Satan comes out with the announcement we will straight to da Moon!!

Now now don't give any coin creators ideas I can soon imagine a proof of work for the Hellcoin

The coin chosen by demons of the underworld  Grin

It still is a nice show of disobedience to the Federal government
But I agree that the Federal law would outweigh the State law in this case.

And I agree the Patriot Act was an act that passed through the Congress based on fear and should be repealed.

Those kinds of laws should always have a sunset provision.

I agree a sunset provision is important and for politicians to have more leeway from their parties on these type of votes

And I agree the Patriot Act was an act that passed through the Congress based on fear and should be repealed.

There is nothing patriotic about the Patriot Act. The name itself is misleading, destined to silence the opposition by calling them unpatriotic. Dubya was an expert in such dirty tricks.  Grin

True it is a convenient name people who say they aren't a Patriot are Solid Snake and his group XD
Sorry had a metal gear solid moment hehe
8086  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - NEW IPO, NEW HARDWARE, 1,500 TH/S HASH RATE on: June 06, 2014, 09:49:03 PM
It looks like Petamine is giving out a good dividend and has decided to go with a 50 50 split
Well best fortunes and to the hashrate
8087  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who would you be allowed to marry in Israel today? on: June 06, 2014, 07:18:03 AM
i kind of find it funny how when you bring up some of the atrocities that come from israel, some people begin to point the finger at you like you are some anti-semite.

Got to love the rap videos that bring it into perspective
That is true though being critical of their policies leads to you being labeled anti sementic

8089  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US Soldier in exchange for 5 Al-Qaeda members on: June 06, 2014, 07:12:53 AM

I heard its because it was 1 person per year that the guy was held hostage.
That said Obama made a tricky decision especially with all the controversy around the guy.

Its extremely rare for the US to negotiate with terrorists not sure in my opinion it might work on the other hand it increases the danger to the 90,000 or so troops that will remain in the country afterward.

That said he did get some people out of Guantanamo now har har in the sense that he didn't close it down lol.

Edit In: Nice this was my l33t post going to leave it at this for a day ^_^
8090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crowdfunding on Bitcoin on: June 06, 2014, 07:06:24 AM
Scammers will always be around, but hopefully bitcoin will be a safer approach.

Well it is caveat emperor
Be careful and avoid all likely scams since Bitcoins in essence once sent are hard to retrieve it makes sense to be careful around investments.
That said did see a crowdfunded miner on indiegogo not on bitcoin so I can see the future using both.
8091  Economy / Economics / Re: Quantitative Easing on: June 06, 2014, 07:02:55 AM

The theory is that if people don't get rewarded for saving they will spend more and stimulate the economy. Like anything this kind of stimulus has a pretty steep law of diminishing returns curve.

They assume people have saving and not loaded with debt. What this will do is encouraging more debt at the expense of saver.

That was one of the reasons the US recovery has been so stalled. People actually started paying off debt instead of adding more. If average people get that you tighten your belt and reduce your debt burden in a down economy why can't the politicians?

A culture of self entitlement, that's why when they say certain congress members are paying for expensive wine hotels and cheese the public scrutinizes their lifestyle.
Also if you have a lot of money on the taxpayer dollar and not your own I can't see them economizing.

Although the counterarguement for that is that it prevents corruption and bribery and them getting jobs in industry afterwards as lobbyists but I am not so certain on the effect of that relationship.
8092  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nobody owns any bitcoin (well basically nobody!) on: June 06, 2014, 07:01:18 AM
Bitcoin really is on its way for mass adoption. Look at all the Bitcoin ATMs. And they aren't just staying there, people are buying BTC!

That's true if the ATM is around people will use it and that will mean more unique users in the long run to increase bitcoin adoption
Got to love those things

With the recent news of Dish, Apple and ebay interested or adopting bitcoins, the adoption can only grow and ATM will help in this task.

Totally I look forward to people using it more and the benefits of more merchants taking it
Although I am kind of curious how long it will take for the local merchant to start using it in larger scales
You could say first the ATMS and then the retailers will come Smiley
8093  Economy / Securities / Re: [Havelock] RentalStarter - A Midwest Real Estate Investment Company on: June 06, 2014, 06:56:34 AM
I have been talking to our corporate attorney concerning the SEC risks, now that VMC & Eric Vorhees have been charged with unregistered securities.

So, at this point I feel that it is in the best interest of RentalStarter that we register our PPM with the SEC for a 506c exemption in order to be more compliant with the regulatory bodies here in the US. After we finalize this, we can talk more about how the company structure works to avoid any additional conflicts and problems.

The costs will be quite minimal for the SEC filings in the grand scheme of things, my brother has already done it for his company (BuyAHash) and found it to be quite painless. This will also benefit the company in the fact that we then can approach large accredited US investors to fund us further.

Glad you are taking a proactive approach to this problem with the Vorhees news
Hopefully the results are positive and we won't need to worry about unnecessary regulatory risks
Making it easier to manage the asset in the long term as well.
8094  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will plummet to $10 by first half of 2014 on: June 06, 2014, 06:54:21 AM
Idiotic prediction that didn't come true.

I predict bticoin value will be at between 0 and infinity from now till the end of time.

Looking stupid is the risk they take when talking about stuff they haven't taken the time to understand.

Indeed if your going to run your mouth as a professor
At least do your research so that your argument sounds reasonable.
Otherwise you just end up looking like a moron.

I assume that debt will come back to bite the economy in the long run
It's sort of like binge drinking makes the user feel good in the short run and then you get that massive hangover the next day

knowing AM is gonna buy a shitload of BTC haha

I must have missed it where does it say that AM will buy a shitload of BTC anyways Smiley

Where are the whales?

Think the site was down so long they took a break and decided to come back later
Anyways the sales orders will probally start getting pulled in a few more hours its rare for Friedcat to post consecutively twice in 2 weeks Smiley
8099  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is currently only 0.03454% used (in the world), what if we reached 1%? on: June 06, 2014, 02:37:45 AM
Your calculation seems correct, but I prefer the Winklevoss value of $40,000 to $50,000 each.

In time, they will release their ETF and there will be a lot of attention on Bitcoin. Institutional investors will go in and there will be a frenzy. The media will be all over it.

I agree even Fxopen my signature campaign is the Forex for Bitcoin, that and other institutional investors will start building funds the Winkeveli are listing for the Nasdaq and the countries not banning derivative trading in virtual currencies are highly interested in the technology. Such as Citi Bank and its report on bitcoin.

So it is only a matter of time in trend analysis to see that 1% but how long it will take is the question.
8100  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-04] Novello starts $4.2m Indiegogo campaign for "ultra low cost" ASICs on: June 06, 2014, 02:24:08 AM
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/27asgp/novello_starts_42m_crowdfunding_campaign_for/

What do you think? Do these guys have any chance of succeeding in the mining arms race?

Perhaps they are targeting a different market on indiegogo than here that isn't as tired of preorder promises
That said I don't think this one will succeed to much of an ask
-  Deliveries will start Dec 2014

I would ask to see the chip itself and the design that said it may be competitive with Asicminer Gen 4

That said I can get half the power now with 100 RX BOX 1200 units for 2 BTC no Pre-Order
Possibly going to Par with the equivalency promise
Or wait till December for the equivalent $30,000 (120TH/sec)
