That's an excellent answer Shorena.

BitcoinStriker: Post your public key and I'll run my computer on it for a few hours and see what I can get for you.

It doesn't get any cheaper than free... are you not interested in a vanity address or are you going it alone?

There is absolute no protection against anything related to crypto to not be a scam or a hoax.
Its like your wallet falling out of your pocket on the street, you should consider yourself lucky if one actually returns the wallet with the money in it.
But i promise you 98% of them take the money and throw away the emptied wallet.

According to a Readers Digest commissioned study the odds of getting your lost wallet and money returned are 90:102
ie. 47% of the "lost" wallets were returned to their owners.

You can view article here - http://www.rd.com/culture/most-honest-cities-lost-wallet-test/

I have a cool story about my wife's purse but she would kill me if I told it.  Suffice it to say we got it back with all the money (about $600USD), credit cards, passports, iphone and digital camera.  The person who returned it didn't even leave a name or contact number.

just because one asshole was right about one thing doesn't mean that we need to listen to assholes all the time just in case they'll be right again.

Yes it does, if you value keeping an open mind.

The paradigm of 'it's not enough to be right, you also have to be nice about it' is at odds with enlightenment values.

Ignoring important information 'Because Offended' is cutting off your nose to spite your face.

When the "information" is merely opinion; baseless, non-factual and unimportant speculation with no supporting evidence presented by an asshat, it should be ignored forthwith so as not to waste more of your precious time.  Furthernore, it should never be labeled as "important".

Nassim Taleb and Dave Collum are many things, but "fools" is not one of them.

Crumbs, etc. were presenting factual and important information.  It was to AM investors' detriment that they ignored and/or raged against.

Was defending and preserving your precious faith/belief/confirmation bias UNTIL IT WAS INCONTROVERTIBLY DEMONSTRATED TO BE 100% WRONG worth all the BTC you lost in AM?

Of course it wasn't.  That's why, in western civilization, we look down on the practice of shooting the messenger (whether that messenger is offensive or polite).

We are reality based, and don't construct our world views based on popularity and tribal groupthink.

I will take an astute asshat like crumbs over a pandering heap of easily offended emotional garbage like you any day of the week.   Smiley

In light of the damning evidence, one would have to be a fool to use facebook but them Collum and Taleb probably weren't listening to the people speaking against facebook for various issues (one that comes to mind is the undisclosed psycholigical experimentation) because they presented their information in a friendly, factual manner.  Fools.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

Who cares?

Exactly!  The reason I didn't say it in that manner though is because I wanted to you "hear" it.  "Who cares?" is so disheartening.  I'm glad you understand.

At the risk of seeming indelicate: you got that ass-backwards.

You were told by Mr. crumbs that sending money to Anons from the interwebs may be unwise, doubly so upon considering that all such slick moves inevitably resulted in veritable tsunamis of tears and snot being shed by teh intrepid investors.

Instead of gushingly thanking Mr. crumbs for bestowing the pearls of his perfect wisdom upon an undeserving swine such as yourself, you raged.
Furiously demanding factses and evidences -- the very things you've failed to demand from nice Anons (the once who promised you a life of wealth and leisure if you but send all of ur monyz to their bitcoin addy & wait).

Is it any wonder you ended up where you are now: broke and butthurt?

 Nobody cares!

It's sad that something nearly immutable is the source of your frustration but if that's the most pressing issue that really grinds your gears, you are very fortunate.  Perhaps you could start a charitable organization to bring awareness to errant Europeans, make yourself the CEO and be rich in spite of it all.

How much are you going to pay for a 2Gh/s stick miner?  Did you know that sidehack and novak developed an 11Gh/s ASIC stick which was just recently released and is currently available for something like $20US plus shipping?  You can read about it here -

8109  Local / Offtopic / Re: Caut cele mai bune cartele "prepaid" telefonie mobila on: September 15, 2015, 09:56:45 AM

8110  Local / Offtopic / Re: Caut cele mai bune cartele "prepaid" telefonie mobila on: September 14, 2015, 10:22:42 PM

In privinta serviciului Digi-mobil, merge oriunde am fost astazi seara in Bucuresti chiar si in apartament (a fost suprinzator pentru mine).
Am gasit serviciul preferat!  Acum trebuie sa ma duc la culcare.
8111  Local / Offtopic / Re: Caut cele mai bune cartele "prepaid" telefonie mobila on: September 14, 2015, 03:44:51 PM

(sotia nu vrea sa ma invete sa injur in limba Romana!)

O sa ma duc la digi-mobil.
8112  Local / Offtopic / Re: Caut cele mai bune cartele "prepaid" telefonie mobila on: September 13, 2015, 01:02:41 PM

Multumesc mult!

I like high temperatures like a cat and would probably catch a cold. No thank you  Tongue

Actually builds your immune system up to fight colds in bad weather. The cold will not bother you as much and its a great test of will power.

Yeah but I'd rather try to stop myself from having another slice of Papa John's Pizza for a test of will power Wink
8115  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: September 08, 2015, 01:07:24 AM
it will search for all prefixes contained in your input file.  the program just displays probability information for the easiest prefix, ie based on probability it expects to find the easiest one first, then the next easiest... it will keep displaying the next easiest prefix probability stats. as it finds each one it "removes" it from its list in memory.

You are partially correct.  The program searches for all prefixes in your file and shows the probability of matching not the easiest but any prefix (it's basically showing the sum of all of the individual probabilities).  Prefixes with a higher probability will likely be matched first but not necessarily.

If you keep that up, you will eventually build up layers of fat to protect your body from hypothermia

Is that true? I've always wanted to take colder showers due to it being good for conditioing for the winter and also good for skin and hair. ive never heard of humans building fat just because they jump in a cold shower for 10 minutes its more prolonged exposure

I have no idea.  That post was humour-based and not founded on good science.
8117  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ice Cold Shower Challenge on: September 07, 2015, 06:43:16 PM
2 Minutes? Easy. In the winter me and my friends used to go to the public swimming pools which they had a sauna which I normally hurt because of how hot they are but because of the snow and ice formed there was a outside pool too which is normally frozen in the winter so we would break a hole in the ice and jump in the sauna for 2 minutes and then rush and jump in the outside frozen pool. who ever gets out first gets a whip to the back which is very painful due to the cold

Yeah because really a whip on its own isn't painful at all. You and your friends seem strange to me.

Canada..Keep forgetting how mild some of the water temps are in the States.

Well maybe in early February I'll take your challenge!

Where do you live that your cold water is so cold?!  My tap water is still quite warm so it's not really a challenge to shower in it.
Do you know that tap water temperature differs by season and region?  On hot days when I was younger, we would spend hours of the day under a sprinkler which was hooked up to the cold water tap.  The water coming out was around 70F!

I'm going to check the temperature Wink

edit: let it run for about 5 mintes - 70F (need ice in my Mio)
