8121  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: January 24, 2019, 02:34:32 PM
How much merit is required for images to show in one's posts? We posted over 200 posts in our thread (1 per day) and our images still don't show.

Post countes doesn't determine you been able to include images in post.  You need just one merit to rank up to jnr member. or you can buy a copper membership and you'll be able to include images in your post.

Today will be a great day to earn that merit if you post right.  Happy merit anniversary

Sorry mate but this account has also been compromised. You just committed another ban evasion offends. It's just a matter of time before this account get banned too.

Ban evasion:
Hello dear, I ask you to understand and forgive I was banned for plagiarism and I knew that I would not be banned because it was a gross violation, I created a new account and did everything according to the rules, even started to catch such offenders like I was, and now I was banned  , please have mercy on my account, it’s wrong for people and I got a lesson on the first account

8123  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! on: January 24, 2019, 10:28:02 AM
Can't wait for my name to be on your list for ranking up to full member before the end of 2019.  Thanks Coin-1 for the LOG.

You were fast enough. Well done.

Thanks mate.  After I discovered the secret, everything became easier . If you desire to rank up, all you have to do is post with quality as well as keep a decent post history and seizing every opportunity you get. Ranking up was among one of my goals of 2019 and I'm glad I could achieve it in the first month. Writing out my goals also motivated me you should do the same too.

8125  Other / Meta / Re: Where should I post? on: January 24, 2019, 07:46:38 AM
You didn't clarify what the project is all about. We need clarity so we can direct you accurately. Is the suppose project you want to start a thread on a Service, Altcoin or what? also what's the tutorial about?  Make this clear so our suggestions will be  easier & accurate.
8126  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Infographic]: Guide on possible reasons to leave a -ve/+ve trust feedbacks. on: January 24, 2019, 06:36:59 AM
I know it's safer, and we're encourage to use the forum's official escrow service

No this statement is wrong. The forum doesn't have an official escrow. And the reason most account are tagged for offering a escrow without track record is to prevent  scam. You have to prove you can be trusted before applying to be an escrow.

Possible Solution:
OP you mentioned Offering escrow without a track record.
Do you mean no previous escrow track record or no previous deals/trades at all on Bitcointalk?
Theoretically, if a user wanted to become an escrow here, what would he need to do if he doesn't have a track record?

You'd have to do other activities that would make you deemed trustworthy by someone. Then that person would approach you to act as an escrow for them. Then if you did a good job for them, they would recommend you to other people. After a while, you would have a good track record and have many to vouch for you. At that point, you can offer it yourself. That's my guess, at least. It kinda has to drop in your lap, at first.

Example of situation users was tagged for trying to sell btt account collected as collateral. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5037540.0
8127  Economy / Reputation / BTT account collateral: When should an account be red tagged? on: January 24, 2019, 04:28:27 AM
This questions is as a result of this thread, I need an answer from experience members of forum for better clarification.

Before I go on to answer your question, first let me make you understand what the forum consider aa a collateral
What is considered collateral?

Collateral is something that can easily be resold to cover the loan value plus interest should the loaner default on the loan.

Therefore if you accept accounts as collateral you're encouraging account farming which the DT members frown at.  Accepting an account as collateral means you're attaching a price to that account which can be sold to cover up your loan value which is considered as account farming

Then another user responded with this,
You're making it sound like taking a BTT as collateral will cause you to instantly get red trusted. - Unless you have examples of this - i wouldn't say that this is the case.

Rather if you take an account as collateral, and the user does not pay back, and you then proceed to sell it, that's kind of flawed upon.

I'd say that, especially with high tier accounts, offering account (rather the reputation behind the account) does not instantly =/= Selling the account in the case of them not paying back their loan.

Here's my questions: If an account is used as a collateral when should it be red tagged?

1]: The moment it's was accepted as a collateral?
2]: should all three accounts involved in the transaction be red tagged for supporting account farming?
3]: Or after a lone default to prevent account selling?

I'll be grateful if explanations are added to your answers.
8128  Other / Meta / Re: Signature advertisers: suggestions? on: January 24, 2019, 04:00:23 AM

We don't need the data to tell us that, however. Anyone who has been here for more than a month knows that the spam problem is because of these altcoin campaigns. When they can create the payment out of thin air with no cost to themselves, they are happy to pay for any old trash.

I believe the reason altcoin campaigns are the problem is as a result of the highlighted sentence above. I'm in support of altcoin campaigns not having the privilege to pay participates in their worthless token but not also in support of all paying in bitcoin. They should be given a chance to pay in selected altcoin. That's why I previously suggested this
there should be selected altcoin used for altcoin  bounty campaign payment. The forum has grow more than just bitcoin. I believe that's why we have grin as a payment option now.  So this is my suggestion, every altcoin bounty should pay their participates in the token of the blockchain their project are developed on.
Example, If your project is based on ETH or EOS blockchain and you want to run a bounty campaign participants will be paid in ETH or EOS  and not your worthless token. I believe this will also have an impact as they got something to lose if shitposters are been paid.

Altcoin campaigns have higher number of participants and paying all of them in bitcoin will cost them more than in most altcoin like EOS that has zero fee (not endorsing any coin here)  just explaining my statement with example.
8129  Other / Meta / Re: Do you think we need a guideline for DT members from theymos? on: January 24, 2019, 03:39:09 AM

I think theymos purposely doesn't give official guidelines because he wants it to be a more community oriented decision. I don't believe everyone working off the same list of rules is the goal.

Everyone do not have to work from the sane list but at least there should be a guide for leaving trust feedbacks by the community.  When I picked interest I thought leaving a negative feedback for ban evasion was correct but after I asked suchmoon he corrected me, asking me not to tag users for such but instead report them to moderator. I was mislead my other users feedbacks and I'm sure others are too.

On the board where this infograhic was posted there's currently an argument on leaving negative feedback for accepting or giving BTT account  as collateral. This type of issue who had been avoided if we have guidelines users can turn to.
8130  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Infographic]: Guide on possible reasons to leave a -ve/+ve trust feedbacks. on: January 24, 2019, 03:28:29 AM

You're making it sound like taking a BTT as collateral will cause you to instantly get red trusted. - Unless you have examples of this - i wouldn't say that this is the case.

Correct me with a recent example of BTT account used as a collateral and it wasn't red tagged.  I believe just  accepting or giving a BTT account as a collateral can be consider as account farming as the main intention of a collateral is base on the fact of loaner default so you have something to turn to.

Let me explain myself, if a user accepts or give a BTT account as collateral what he's saying is that I'm adding price value to that account and you should sell it if I can't pay back the loan to cover up. Correct me if I'm wrong.

DT members frown at any issues relating to account farming. Although this issues are still been discussed and if adjustment are made I'll update this infograhic. This is just a temporary guide based on current reasons users are leaving trust feedbacks
8131  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible to contact bitcoin support ? on: January 23, 2019, 02:46:56 PM
hii Is there any way to contact bitcoin support ,

Yes, you can drop your complains here. We the community members are willing to assist/guide you because we are all part of bitcoin support team Grin isn't that right guys?  Bitcoin isn't a centrailize project it's controlled by the community so drop your complains. 8132  Other / Meta / Re: We should use "Report to moderator" more often on: January 23, 2019, 02:15:16 PM
but we also need to be sure that the one we are reporting are real spammers because sometimes those people who are innocent are the one who is being reported so we should consider first in reviewing their acc and their past post if they are really worth to be reported..

What are you saying? You sound like someone who haven't used the report to moderator button before. If you click on the button you'll see something like this
Quote
You have reported ** posts with **% accuracy (** good, ** bad, **unhandled).
The ** was use to replace actually numbers in the quote above. That means for each post you report and they're seen as good posts,  it won't be deleted and I'll reflect on your report page as a bad report. So it does no harm to the OP.  In conclusion reporting an innocent people (as you said) , it does no harm to them.  And if their posts was a quality one, it won't be deleted instead you'll be the one having bad report record.
8133  Other / Meta / Re: Discussion about acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Community values. DT on: January 23, 2019, 01:08:56 PM
Here is one case i'm not very sure what to do >
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=22672;sa=showPosts;start=0
The account is most likely traded. There is a 1 year gap between the posts and from Italian switched to Russian.
He just signed a message to secure the new account.

Carryout a security research like change of password adding to @TheNewAnon135246 information (of change of email) and if it comes out positive, go ahead and red tag him but if change of password is negative then give him a red tag and if he can prove he's the owner of the account the red tag will be deleted. The red tag will serve as a warning to prove ownership of account that way you'll get his attention.

Also you should info him via trust feedback that if he can proof ownership of account red tag will be removed.
8134  Other / Meta / Re: Forum innovations in the last 12 months. on: January 23, 2019, 10:32:40 AM

Bottom line, I think everyone should take a step back and appreciate the forum is trying to push forward, adapt and grow in a way that doesn't make it self implode.

I must say,  the forum is growing very fast and the innovations are been appreciated by those who truly understands the uses of those additional features. Guessing theymos next option now is to look into enabling self-moderated thread on meta and giving us an official guidelines to leaving trust feedbacks. These are the two hottest topics right now and doing justice to them will go a long way.
I must say the implementation of the merit system has the highest impact on forum (from my view) and that's my fav of all the innovations and my least is the minor selfmod enhancement. (although it's too early to judge so I'll give it sometime)
8135  Other / Politics & Society / From what I see democrats are at fault on: January 23, 2019, 09:46:47 AM
The democrats needs to start thinking of the citizens of the United State first before their selfie interest of attacking trump and making him look bad every single opportunity they get. Only 6 democrats voted yea and 222 voted nay. This is just one of those situation that points out the real villains in this current government

8136  Economy / Reputation / Re: Need opinions about few fake ICO who have listed on Dex or worst C-ex on: January 23, 2019, 08:44:38 AM
Coins/tokens listing on exchange doesn't disprove the fact they're scam project.
Its good to create a thread lke this to make people more aware about the fake coins who are already listed to scam more people later on.

Adding to this,  @Coolcryptovator since you're good at busting this scam project it'll be great to make a thread on list of already exposed scam icos trading on exchange. You can combine your list with other users doing the same busting ICO scam stuffs. What do you think?
8137  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why did this token have a market cap of $0 during the first 2 weeks of trading? on: January 23, 2019, 08:22:04 AM
Here's an advice,  don't depend on coinmarketcap for any accurate data.  The website is mess up beside most of their information are always on a scale of average. If you want the trading volume of a coin/token visit the exchange those coins are traded on although they could also have false trading volume/price as newly added coin/tokens are easier to manipulate.

I am trying to understand this whole ICO thing. It confuses me that there was trading yet no market cap. Why?

Also it could be they haven't updated their databases after listing token on their site since they need the circulating supply of token and the current price to determine the market capitalization and newly listed tokens always have wrong information due to manipulation from exchanges.

8138  Other / Meta / Re: Do you think we need a guideline for DT members from theymos? on: January 23, 2019, 07:21:05 AM
Having an official guidelines from theymos will be great but until then that doesn't mean we shouldn't make use of the trust system. We already have general accepted offends that are worth leaving negative feedback and positive feedbacks by DT and others. How about we stick to what we already have (which is working fine)  and when theymos finial decide to create those guidelines we adjust to them and change some of our feedbacks to neutral or maybe delete those that aren't a offends by his guidelines.

I did a infograph on possible reasons to leave or not leave a negative /postive feedback. Go check it out and leave your feedbacks via reply

Reason for this thread
Additionally, it may be interesting to see all four combinations for trust feedback:
-   Use positive feed back for.
-   Don’t use positive feed back for.
-   Use negative feed back for.
-   Don’t use negative feed back for (OP).

8139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i want to buy 30 BTC, whats the best way ? on: January 23, 2019, 07:09:01 AM
OP next time you can use the Google web Search and you'll get some options on what you're searching for and in this case ask for opinions on the exchange you find that one can buy bitcoin with swift transfer. Then we can drop our advice on which is more safer or safest to use and the ones known for scamming their customers.

I did a research and according to this Cryptoradar website, they found 19 cryptocurrency marketplaces that accept payment via SEPA or SWIFT.  I also discovered that you can buy bitcoins online with International Wire (SWIFT) on Localbitcoin

Go through those site and I hope you find one that'll be convince to do transaction with.
8140  Other / Meta / Re: Why was my post deleted? on: January 23, 2019, 04:38:15 AM
Firstly posts get deleted most time when they're off topic, so I ask you,  which board was this posted in?.  Secondly post get deleted when they're low quality, it doesn't matter how long it's. Here is a brief explanation of what can be considered a low quality post. Repeating topic already discussion or started by other users.

After reading through your topic [took me something though] I wasn't impressed because it's not a new topic   That's a topic  already been discussed and more are been created on bitcoin discussion board daily.

Ps: Stop creating long topic like this it gets other users discourage from reading them. Topic is just a spam magnet so it's low quality
