8121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: End of the correction? on: April 04, 2018, 06:50:09 PM
The correction have ended with 10k$ as a value for bitcoin. But it did not stabilize as bitcoins price have slided down to 6200$. The reason at this point is not the correction but rather the panic selling of bitcoin holders due to the issue of banning cryptocurrency related ads and ICO's by google, twitter and facebook. Many investors also have been discouraged and ended up selling their bitcoins in the market resulting to the down fall of bitcoins value.

I agree with this. Those newcomers that bought at around 19k would have probably been devastated as they saw the price drop and have been waiting for any small recovery to sell out and "cut losses". The significance of the ad ban was overplayed though, EU is starting to study how to regulate bitcoin and some exchanges are moving to Switzerland so it's not really all gloom and doom in the horizon.
I think they can be still recovering their losses by buying bitcoin at the current price and sell them when the price is high and slowly regain their losses and I think the price of bitcoin can be increased again back to 19k value just keep holding it and wait until December or next halving maybe the price could increase again back.

Look at the price chart last 2 years after the block halving. This is one of the reasons why the price burst increase until 2017 and now we experience a price correction and now for me, the movement of the price is normal and I think we will see huge movement again around November and December just like what happened years ago.
8122  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 red and green LED always on? on: April 04, 2018, 05:57:12 PM
I think much better to do a hard reset first before you do anything.

Here is the guide how to hard reset your miner
Quote
  • First restart your miner then wait for 2 to 3 minutes
  • After powering on the miner for 3 minutes, press the reset button in your miner for 5 seconds then release
  • The miner will restart it's own automatically for 5 minutes
  • Then try again if the IP reporter detects the miner

Sometimes resetting could solve this issue, but if this guide won't work possible you have a bad firmware or hardware.
Could you try to replace the cable from controller board and check if your issue solve.

If your miner still under warranty better to contact the support and send it back to Bitmain.

8123  Other / Meta / Re: 1 day old account with 10 merits. It is acceptable? on: April 04, 2018, 04:01:32 PM
What I notice from his post he is begging for a merit and my guess I think this is his own alt account, but like others said we don't have any proof that it's not an alt account sending sMerit to a newbie.

The best that you can do now is to monitor the post history of the newbie account until you find a proof and report to campaign managers or DT member to give him a red tag.

There are many abusers here in the forum that they're using their alt accounts as their source of merit, but since we don't have any proof we can't give him a red tag or report to DT member to tag him red.

8125  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet not showing funds on: April 03, 2018, 12:07:08 PM
Does the address you have sent the funds to appear in electrum (receive- or address tab?) ?
Yes, the address I sent my BTC to is in the Electrum application, and the receiving address was inside of the receiving tab, right where it says: "Receiving address:"

Does it still appear in the receive-/address tab?

Yep totally missed it (not used to a Mac) but then found it. I did an ismine("address") in the command line and it said true for the address I copied from electrum.

Just to make sure i understand you correctly:

  • You have sent BTC's to address X from your electrum wallet
  • This address X is visible under receive-/address tab
  • ismine("X") returns true

If you can answer all of those questions with yes, then can you please try to execute the following command:

Code:
listunspent()

This should return all UTXO's available.
Look at the list you get and search for your address/amount received. Do you see any transactions/coins related to your address X ?

You are not reading the whole thread OP said that he found a solution that solved his issue.
Check the post above your post for reference and hope you guys read the new post before you reply if the problem is solve or not.  Wink

8126  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Bitcoin balance missing on new iPhone on: April 03, 2018, 11:59:49 AM
If you back up the files from old iPhone and import it into your new iPhone with iTunes only the apps and images or videos could be backup that is why you end up creating a new wallet.

I suggest that if you still had access to your old wallet better to backup your private keys with funds and import it to your new mycelium wallet just don't forget to backup your seed phrase so that you can recover it once you have a new phone again or if you wanted to use your wallet in other wallet providers.

you can also try coinomi wallet they support bitcoin wallet and other altcoins with new and old Segwit addresses.
8127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whats the best exchange sites for you? on: April 03, 2018, 08:22:31 AM
I think almost exchange sites are not asking for deposit fees. For me, there's no best exchange because even you are recommending Binance they also had some issue like what happens past months ago.

For me, if you really wanted to safety exchange always keep active here in the forum and check the news about exchange site.

I sometimes exchange my altcoins in binance exchange but for me, it is still not a safe exchange.

If you know about Bancor. Network it's also good exchange for tokens.

The other old exchange that I think is still the best to trade is Cryptopia, Bittrex, and Poloniex.

There are exchanges are asking for higher fees for every withdrawal transaction than the other exchange site so if you want to pay less fee use altcoin for withdrawal so that you can only pay less fee in any exchanges if you are planning to transfer it to other exchanges or planning to withdraw.
8128  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: What is wrong with Bread Wallet. Accepts other coins but still no Segwit? on: April 03, 2018, 07:20:40 AM
If you are planning to hold different coins and token, I suggest that you switch to coinomi wallet because they also support Segwit addresses both P2PWKH-P2SH and Bech32 few weeks ago and I never had any problem using this wallet for a long time. It supports android smartphone and Iphone.

just always make sure that you save seed phrase and private key for your future recovery.
Green address is also good only for Iphone and coinomi is also good in android OS. You can test them both if what wallet that fits to your needs.

Here is the correct page of coinomi wallet https://coinomi.com/
8129  Other / Meta / Re: Help, my old account is locked and my new one warns people I am a newbie. on: April 02, 2018, 07:03:20 PM
It's better to read this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

And maybe they can help you out.

If you can't prove the ownership of the account expect that you will never get your account back.

If you didn't stake a bitcoin address here in the forum it would be hard to recover your account back.

I suggest that better you stay with your new account

if your issue is a limited post or warnings like what you said I suggest you upgrade your account to a copper member to reduce the post limits, but you need to pay bitcoin to be able to upgrade your account to the copper member. 8130  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet not showing funds on: April 02, 2018, 04:37:56 PM
Did you double-check the bitcoin address from electrum where you send your bitcoin from bitcoin core?

Maybe you put a wrong bitcoin address that is why no pending transaction or confirmed transaction in your electrum wallet.

Since you said your electrum wallet is connected to 3 nodes it means that your wallet is running fine.

There are 2 possibilities maybe you put a wrong bitcoin address or you use a fake electrum wallet.

Can you clarify if where did you download the electrum wallet and put the bitcoin address you use for receiving bitcoin from bitcoin core here, so that we can find what actually the reason for not showing transaction in your electrum history and let me know if what version of electrum wallet you use?
8131  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What sites gives latest Bounty Campaigns? on: March 30, 2018, 05:32:50 PM

8132  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Privacy on: March 30, 2018, 05:24:43 PM
I am new into the cryptocurrency scene and just recently learned about that IP address can get leaked when sending transactions (since they connect to nodes). So I have few questions regarding this:

1. Is it only when you send transactions that your IP address is being used? What about when you generate addresses and receive transactions with the electrum client?

2. I recently connected my Electrum to TOR through SOCKS5 127.0.0.1:9150 in the network settings. Before this it was set on default with SOCKS4 connection. While I have been using VPN all the time before all this discovery, my question here is, did the SOCKS4 connect to my VPN or my actual home IP address? And let's say I created a wallet with the SOCKS4 alternative, but then recently changed settings to TOR, does my transactions continue to use the IP-address I used while creating the wallet, or will it automatically change to the TOR connection?

3. I also have a Nano ledger S that I am using. Does this also send out my IP addresses when I am sending transactions like Electrum? And if it does, how do I connect TOR/VPN to it?
According to your question about 1,2 and 3, it doesn't matter what IP you are using if you send bitcoin from electrum(according to blockchain) the IP is not the same when you are sending base on what I see no one could fund your IP where you send your bitcoin from electrum.

VPN or TOR network it would be still the same IP when you check it from blockchain. Because bitcoin is anonymous unless if there is another way to trace you.

Quote
4. I also read that they can also see all your bitcoin addresses, in addition to IP-address, when you connect to servers, how is this possible?
No, if you receive the bitcoin in one address from electrum wallet only the bitcoin address with balance could see your bitcoin addresses.

If you didn't use the other bitcoin addresses from electrum no one would know your other bitcoin addresses unless if you use all of your bitcoin address with balance.
Quote
5. Is there anything else I should be aware of or any extra advice? I have been trying to inform myself more through google, but always good to hear from others.  Grin

My advice beware of fake electrum website, there are many fake websites nowadays so if you are not sure if what the real electrum official website better to ask it here in the forum.
8133  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Label on: March 29, 2018, 06:30:16 PM
Hi

If I set a label for a receive adress, the label goes just away when I restart the wallet.

How can I set a permanent label?

Thanks in advance for the help  Smiley

Could you try this step.

1. Open your Electrum wallet
2. Then look for tools and click
3. After that click the plugins
4. And then check the label and click settings
5. While you are at the settings click the force upload( take note you must put the label first before you force upload.)

Now it should be permanent, once you are planning to recover your wallet in electrum you can force download the label to sync your uploaded label.
I hope that this will work for you.

Here is the image below.
8134  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW THIS WORKS?? on: March 29, 2018, 05:39:12 PM
If your problems are the interval time limit, you can increase your rank to copper member position that can reduce the interval post limit and you can also post images.

Check this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

Take note it's a paid membership so if you really need it you need to pay the membership.

However, if you are here for the signature campaign and you wanted to rank up then you must contribute here first in the forum to earn merits.
8135  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: QR Code issue on: March 27, 2018, 11:14:59 PM
Soooo....
Tested with 2 other phones. (Guy from the OnePlus forum had 2)
Wiped all 3.
Installed latest beta on all 3
Installed Mycelium on all 3
Worked on one of his, but not the other. Still does not work on mine.
Both of the 2 that did not work are from the original batch.
His 2nd one he got a few months later. So, it's probably a HW issue.
Going to follow up with OnePlus, since on the surface it looks like a HW revision issue, not a Mycelium issue.

-Dave

Where did you download the firmware? Can you link me?

Hope you are flashing the stock rom not a modified rom. You can download the firmware directly from onePlus, here is the list of stock rom check it here http://downloads.oneplus.net/devices/oneplus-3t/

My guess, maybe your phone is infected with a monkey virus or other viruses like Ghostpush and the Sexy virus that even you do a hard reset or flash it to a new firmware your phone still infected...

You can try to use this tool https://www.4shared.com/rar/FKQZ9lUNce/All_ANDROID_Monkey_Virus_Remov.html

And hope it can delete viruses from your phone. If this tool not work, then you need a box like Chinese miracle or Volcano box to scan the whole system file of your phone and remove all viruses, but only technician have this kind of tool like me.

Anyway, you can try the tool above and the phone must be rooted first to get this tool works.
8136  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 way around firewall? on: March 27, 2018, 10:27:50 PM
If you can access the router's admin you can possibly disable the firewall.

Try this maybe it could work. You should have a PC connected to their internet and follow the step below.

First, open cmd, you can use the shortcut to open cmd just press Windows+R from the keyboard. After that, the command prompt should appear.

Type ipconfig then enter, it should show the Windows IP configuration and adapters.

Check the default gateway ip and copy.

Now, open your browser and type the ip of the default gateway. Router page should appear and ask for admin password.

try this password, username "admin" and password is "admin" if this won't work you can try this too "admin" password "12345" or "12345678"

If this password works you can now find the firewall and disable it.
8137  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How can I tell if a cloud mining business is not a scam? on: March 27, 2018, 10:00:42 PM
I think you can verify the cloud mining if their business is registered company in their country or if their business is licensed.
For me, if i see the mining farm in front of my eyes i could say that they are legit but if not they are scam.
And i experienced many cloud mining sites but no sites that actually gives you a real profit profit.

I suggest, if you want to mine bitcoin buy a mining hardware instead like antminer or GPU mining for low budget.
8138  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is possible to make a pump and dump with the same profit for all on: March 27, 2018, 09:06:58 PM
It's possible to build your own pump and dump group, but I think all members of the group will not make the same profit.

There are many groups in telegram, but some of them are using it to tell other to buy coins and pump the price and then the owner of the group will sell his holdings to make a profit and then they tell them again to sell their holdings and the owner of the group will buy low price again repeatedly.

That's why only owner of the group can be benefited.

So, I consider it as a scam and fooling people to invest in altcoin.

If you are holding a large amount of bitcoin why not use it to pump and dump than inviting other people to invest without guaranteed result.
8139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: coinhive/gridcash question on: March 27, 2018, 08:04:12 PM
The coinhive site is blocked by my antivirus I couldn't access the site so I don't have any idea on how their payment system works.

Anyway, I will try to answer your question.

Some web mining site is asking for fees before you can withdraw.

The fee sometimes is 5%, like you said you have 20 XMR in 1 month then deduct the 5% in 20XMR and then the total amount you can withdraw is 19XMR

If you're a blogger and use this as your source of earnings to stay your blog alive it is not a good idea.

Visitor hates slow websites and visitors could report your website to google and bing if they notice their CPU usage is high while browsing in your website then your website will receive a penalty that can result of low rankings in any search engine, so if no rankings no traffic and honestly coinhive is paying a small amount for CPU mining.

I suggest that you use a banner ads instead.
8140  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to develop a mining app on: March 27, 2018, 07:27:25 PM

Why would you do this though?

I'm thinking it might be beneficial potentially for having a more lightweight OS that doesn't need any dependencies installed as for me: Windows is exceptionally slow: Linux is too confusing with all the dependencies that need installing (well it's difficult for a stupid person like me anyway).

The only issue being that if you don't use an emulator (which would just slow things down) you have to have an ARM processor don't you for it to be compatible with the OS - unless they've updated how it works now anyway?
Better to check the Remix OS below if what it looks like

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmyHdlYWE2I

This OS works on PC as an android that you can install APK apps or games so if op is planning to develop a mining app it should work in Remix OS as android PC.

You don't need any emulator like bluestack to install the android app. it is running as an Android on PC.

That's why I recommend this OS because PC has more advantages than smartphones.
