You should set the server to offline mode in case Mojang's login server is down.
Also, implement a /login plugin.
8122  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Double-bet-on-lose method applied to bitcoin gambling on: April 19, 2013, 09:02:07 AM
I remember reading a story (Can't say it was 100% true, but you never know) that was basically about 3 guys that where in vegas playing roulette, on martingale. They kept betting black, but the wheel landed red 31 times in a row. All 3 men and everyone else at the table was broke.

it is 100% possible.

8128  Economy / Speculation / Re: I sold at $57, fml. on: April 19, 2013, 03:58:49 AM
so what your telling me is that you were buying btc at 2 bucks and buying all the way up and watched the 266 break and saw it fall and fall and fall and fall and it bounced a few times in there and watched it do its thing and then sold at the lowest posible low?...well within ten bucks but realy about as low as you could go. so you have been in bitcoin a while and this was your game plan ....

WELL YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CALL THE TOP
AND YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CALL THE BOTTOM
BUT IM CALLING BULL SHIT ON THIS THREAD!!!!

threw in a little satashi dice to mix things up too just to show how inept you are.

you guys took it hook line and sinker.

if it is true....then wow you have learned NOTHING about bitcoins and why are you not a maximmum hero member if you were into btc when they were two?

What the fuck is a 'maximum hero member'?
Just because I was around back then doesn't mean I was actively posting on Bitcoin Talk.
8129  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are living the fastest growth ever! on: April 19, 2013, 03:56:30 AM
Well, 2½ days later and BTC more than doubled in value from 50$!  And yet, it seem to be passing much more under the radar than when we gained 50% in a few days Tongue

+1, agreed

I like this thread.  ---Even though I have some suspicion that the OP is just trollin'...

Hopefully I will never be this stupid again in my life.

And get a life while you're at it.
8135  Economy / Speculation / Re: The "Vladimir Club" on: April 18, 2013, 01:06:36 PM
Plot twist: Most of those addresses are part of one wallet.dat file.

...with private key irreversibly lost a year ago Smiley

proof?

protip: only coins in an address which has never spent coins (thereby revealing its public key) can be irreversibly lost. The rest of the coins (those in addresses whose public keys have been revealed) will be trivially claimed by the first Quantum Computers.

Assuming QC "suddenly" appears, and ECDSA is instantaneously crackable using Shor's algorithm, and SHA256/RIPEMD160 become vulnerable to Grover's algorithm:
  • Every unspent coin, sent to an address whose pubkey is not yet revealed, is somewhat safe (80 bit security left, instead of 160 bit)
  • The block chain is quite safe (128 bit security left, instead of 256 bit)
  • Transactions to new quantum-computing-based addresses with corresponding keys, are safe
  • ... only unspent coins sent to reused addresses will be trivially claimable by any attacker (a few bits of security left, instead of 128 bit)

protip: private keys can be bruteforced if you're the luckiest man on earth

8137  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin vs boinc on: April 18, 2013, 12:50:58 PM
I use to use bonic to do work for SETI@home  the work you are doing for bonic tends to be helpfull like with SETI@home but what bitcoin is doing is just bizzy work in witch you get paid for

the only thing I was useing SETI@home for was heeting up my room on a cold night

if you want money then start mining bitcoin and you will get paid but if you solo mine theres a good chance years can go by befor u see any money so you would need to join a pool if you want a 100% chance to get money each day

or you could look in to litecoin

but unlike your kind hart using bonic to help ppl bitcoin is only about the money

This is hilarious  Grin Grin Grin

Mt Gox was a victim of their own success apparently. https://mtgox.com/press_release_20130411.html
8139  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dump and buy back (how to become a bitcoin millionare post mining era) on: April 18, 2013, 12:04:23 PM
That doesn't even make sense that Bitcoins drop during a DDos. Why wouldn't people just go off the last buy/sell/avg price until the exchange comes back up instead of panic selling/buying.

Mt Gox down = OMG BTC IS DAED SELL SELL SELL
8140  Economy / Lending / Re: Needed .5 BTC. on: April 18, 2013, 04:02:31 AM
No, I talked to steam and they said I can submit it but the profits will be split 50/50.

quote author=Blazr link=topic=171939.msg1805772#msg1805772 date=1365696922]
I estimate to make about 200,000 per year max. It will be sold on steam.

Oh, so you managed to get the $50,000 fee that steam charges game publishers for access to their SDK and a distribution contract?

Also note that they aren't accepting new games at the moment until they launch greenlight.

You could've just been honest and told us you wanted the 0.5BTC for "tor".

This kid is hilarious. He'd lick your shoes clean for a bitcoin.
