8141  Other / Meta / Re: Is it necessary to set up a separate TOKEN sub-section on: July 05, 2021, 08:12:38 AM
@NeuroticFish
The two sections are already separated. We have Altcoin Announcements and Tokens. All coin ANNs go into Altcoin Announcements while ANNs of token projects go into the Tokens child board. So if you think about it, the "others" (altcoins) is also dividable on two.

If I understood the point kxwhalexk was trying to make in his OP, he is asking why we have a child board for tokens when they could all be together in the same Altcoin board. He wasn't proposing to create a new category, he was just asking why there are two separate categories. In my first post I tried to explain why it's necessary.
8142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbooks often offer different odds for the same type of bet on: July 05, 2021, 08:02:18 AM
I don't follow Formula One so I can't comment on the individual markets and what exactly they mean. I will have to trust that your analysis is correct because I don't see a reason you would post this and not tell the truth.

But just for the record, is there a theoretical chance that a driver can win his Head-2-Head without winning the race? Similarly, can someone win a race without winning the Head-2-Head.
8143  Other / Meta / Re: Is it necessary to set up a separate TOKEN sub-section on: July 04, 2021, 01:07:13 PM
There is a clear difference between the two.
Altcoin announcements is a place where you would go to announce a new coin with its own blockchain. The original Monero and Litecoin announcements were posted there and that's where they belong. Tokens don't have their own blockchains and use the infrastructure by one of the coins. Like ERC-20 tokens use the Ethereum blockchain.

Those two shouldn't be in the same category because If I want to check what's new in the established altcoins world, I shouldn't have to go through threads about ICOs and unlisted ERC20 tokens. It works the other way around as well. Since you are an ICOer like you said, you shouldn't have to see the Monero and Dash announcements while you are searching for ICO projects.
8144  Other / Meta / Re: 60 Days Ban Appeal on: July 04, 2021, 12:54:56 PM
Technically that's ban evasion. Ban appeal thread is the only thing a banned user is allowed to do.
Technically it is, but I also understand that some people can't just disappear and be unavailable for 60 days. Especially those who run signature campaigns like Hhampuz who got temp banned. Imagine the drama if signature participants stopped getting paid for 30 or 60 days. You might say, he could still pay the participants even if he is banned and he doesn't need his forum account for that. But technically that could also be ban evasion because he keeps conducting the business he normally runs on the forum.

I understand what you are saying. However, if you and I made a deal where am I expecting a payment from you on Monday and you got temp banned today, I would still expect you to find a way around that and tell me how we should proceed. I would certainly do it if it was the other way around because my personal predicament can't be an excuse for breaking an agreement we had.

Dude I think you should be grateful it's not a permanent ban and you still have hope of getting your account back after two month and what ever that lead to it must have been lesson for you.
Oh you do, do you? How cute. And what do your other alter egos think? Will we hear from them as well?
8145  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: [LISTA] Ubrzajte i emitirajte Bitcoin transakcije on: July 04, 2021, 11:30:29 AM
Iskreno, probao sam prije jedno godinu dana neke od tih servsa, tj ove besplatne, i kurca nisu napravili.
Tj nije ubrzalo transakciju.
A onda kad ViaBTC pronađe sljedeći blok, te transakcije će bit ubačene u njega.

Mislim da vrijedi spomenuti i da Lucius nudi svoju uslugu ubrzavanja transakcija. On koristi ViaBTC-ov besplatni servis.

I veoma dosadno.

VAR doesnt check wether it was a valid corner or not.
In my opinion, that is wrong. I have seen goals being cancelled in the Italian league because the ball passed the throw-in line during the attack that lead to the goal. If the referees can cancel a goal because of a throw in, they should have the ability to do it because of properly given (or not given) corners. As we saw from the Denmark - Czech Republic example, the referee's mistake f**ked the Czechs really hard.

8149  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: New Trezor Suite Update on: July 04, 2021, 09:01:15 AM
The old browser-based version, Trezor Wallet, will continue to work while the public beta is underway and will eventually redirect users to the Trezor Suite web wallet, including all the new features present in the desktop application.
Wait, Trezor Suite web wallet? I thought they were just developing a brand-new Trezor Suite desktop application. I wasn't aware they are creating a new web wallet as well. In that case, https://wallet.trezor.io/ will surely not be used in the future once both versions of the Trezor Suite are fully operational. It wouldn't make sense having two different web wallets and causing confusion amongst the community.

...and I have no idea how he only have 159 subscribers and some craptalkers and pumpers have over 100k,
It's because of the fact they talk crap that they have many subscribers. People like to hear how the next coin is going to get them rich and they seek out those who "promise" that. On the other hand, they'll get easily bored with just tech stuff although that is supposed to be the essence of it. And most of those crypto YouTubers always organize some giveaways, and we all know how big suckers people are for free stuff.
8151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The real reason why China banned Bitcoin. on: July 04, 2021, 08:38:17 AM
If they feel innocent people are being ripped off by some crypto projects they can always do the most simplest and basic thing which is openly educate their people about the implications involved in investing in crypto rather than stooping so low to create unnecessary fud...
I don't think any government would spend much time educating people about cryptocurrencies. China is no different. Instead of banning bitcoin mining, they could have been more serious about ICO's/IEO's and unlisted coins and tokens. They already banned ICOs in 2017/2018 and prevented crypto exchanges from operating on the mainland. So the claim that they are protecting their citizens from scam projects and risky investments can't be true.
8152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 04, 2021, 08:31:18 AM
Denmark are ahead in just five minutes of the play. The goal was scored by the header but i think it was poor defense by the Czech Republic. They should have covered the goal.
The goal should not have counted. It wasn't a corner at all. If you look at the play that lead to the corner, the ball touched the Danish player's foot before going out of play. The correct decision should have been goal kick for the Czech Republic and not a corner for Denmark.

I am surprised that VAR didn't notice this, or maybe they aren't allowed to make such changes regarding corner or no corner and that decision is left to the referees. But that wouldn't make sense since they can cancel the goal if the ball went out of play or there was an offensive foul, etc.
8153  Other / Meta / Re: Question for admins: Add one more post in my thread maybe? on: July 04, 2021, 08:23:37 AM
Yes, I'm following your topic since I`m also having a similar problem. In our German "Translation Spam found, here you can report it", my second post is also limited and I can't add more data because I've reached the maximum number of characters.
You are exactly in the same spot as I was. You could maybe ask eneloop to delete his post, which is #3 in your thread. Since posts #4-7 are all yours, maybe you can make some changes and merge two of them together so you can continue with your table from post #2 in post #3.

Try PMing theymos and ask him directly, why not!? You can use SFR10's post and Lauda's thread as example that it has been done before. You have a valid request and I feel I did as well.

It might be too much work for the admins to start entertaining requests like these, but they do not have to make it a habit, they can evaluate the situation and choose not to take any action; just as theymos does with display name change requests.
Exactly
8154  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: A problem with creating a new wallet on android version of electrum on: July 03, 2021, 04:30:51 PM
I confirm this.
I created wallet A and wallet B with the version 4.0.9 and then updated electrum to 4.1.4. I unlocked wallet A and created wallet C.
There was no change in the password of wallet B.
Just to be 100% sure, have you tried unlocking wallet B before creating wallet C on 4.1.4 as well? Just to rule out the possibility that only the oldest wallet's password can be used as the "unlock password". That shouldn't be the case, but maybe the developers overlooked that part.
8155  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What's the rationale behind difficulty adjustment after every 2016 blocks? on: July 03, 2021, 04:09:07 PM
<Snip>
A difficulty adjustment like that would also depend on when during the current period the sudden drop of hashrate occurred. If it happened at the beginning and lasted for most part of the current difficulty period of 2016 blocks, the difficulty would be reduced more than if it happened in the middle and especially at the end.

When you say temporary, do you expect the hashrate (the miners in China) to resume their operations soon or do you think the machines will move abroad and mine from somewhere else? I don't think neither of these two options will happen that fast.
8156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 03, 2021, 03:35:14 PM
The Czech Republic has been one of the most positive surprises of the tournament so far and I am rooting for that to continue. The odds are set against them today but I believe in another upset. The Danish side has played all their group stage matches at home. After the initial shock and the defeat against Finland after everything that happened to Eriksen, they got their act together and performed well as a team. They are now on a neutral venue and I am giving the Czechs a small advantage.

England is the clear favorite against Ukraine. Saka seems to be the only doubt for tonight's match. I'd like to see Grealish in the team from the start because they seem to be performing better when he plays.
8157  Other / Meta / Re: Question for admins: Add one more post in my thread maybe? on: July 03, 2021, 09:16:08 AM
<Snip>
Thanks for doing that, but I really wished it could have been solved in a different way without causing inconveniences where other users have to delete their posts. Especially after what SFR10 wrote about Lauda's thread.

Post #5 = December 03, 2016, 09:47:44 AM
Post #6 = November 18, 2017, 10:23:09 PM [was added after ten and a half months]
Post #7 = December 03, 2016, 10:05:45 AM
So it is possible to do. Let's see if someone from the mod/admin team will respond. Since Charles-Tim already deleted his post, things are OK now in my thread, but this could be interesting for other users who might find themselves in a similar situation. I didn't judge well enough how much space those tables would take and thought there wasn't so much LN content.
8158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The real reason why China banned Bitcoin. on: July 03, 2021, 09:03:46 AM
If China cared about the environment and wasn't interested in eliminating the competition as a preparation for the digital yuan, why not kill off every industry that doesn't use renewable energy? If too much fossil fuels are used in the mining operations in China, why not give the miners a deadline of 1/2/5/10 years to switch to better sources of electricity instead of preventing them from conducting their businesses within a few days or weeks?

There are uneducated people all over the world who invest in bitcoin among other things. Your statement that they are trying to protect its citizens is simply wrong. Gambling is if I remember correctly banned in China, but you are allowed to play lottery in locations the state deems as good (the ones run by the state). How do you comment on that? Chinese citizens are protected from losing money in private casinos and sportsbooks, but they are free to lose it in establishments that pay taxes to the government and are operated by them. Roll Eyes
8159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [VIDEO]: Bitcoin Exists Only in Satoshi's Imagination on: July 03, 2021, 08:44:38 AM
Lets be honest here without Fiat Bitcoin would be worthless because 99% of people sell or trade it for Fiat money  Without it being linked to Fiat it would not have any value at all.
That's because bitcoin's adoption rate hasn't reached a stage where you can use it everywhere you go. You have to convert it to fiat if the other party you buy from doesn't accept bitcoin. Imagine it being the other way around. If you lived in a place where everyone takes bitcoin and avoids fiat. You wouldn't have to exchange your bitcoin to USD because you can get everything you need with BTC already.
8160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the only thing that humans cannot control on: July 03, 2021, 08:37:13 AM
Very weird assumptions you are making there OP. If Bitcoin can't be controlled, tell me, what happens if all miners shut down their equipment and stop mining forever? How will your next transaction be confirmed? Isn't that a way in which humans can control the network? I am not interested in what the chances are of something like that happening, only that it is theoretically possible. Didn't the Chinese government take control and decide what the Chinese miners can and cannot do a few weeks ago? No one can control Bitcoin you say, but can you run your mining operations without electricity?

What about full-nodes and the decentralization aspect of Bitcoin. Can't that also be influenced if all full-nodes left the network for whatever reason and we would be down to just two? Is bitcoin then a decentralized currency?
