8161  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm All In - Sold My House! on: June 02, 2014, 03:09:28 AM
Whose Veronica, someone from 2012?
Shes from the other thread where she gave up on Bitcoin because she made a fiat loss after only holding the asset for 3 months
Seems to have come back from the dead recently
8162  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it my imagination or does Bitcoin tend to gravitate towards $666 on: June 02, 2014, 03:02:36 AM
I'm sure we'll be trying to pin the price to $1,337 when we get there.
Everybody likes certain numbers Grin

1000$ is a more likely point.
It had dropped to around 650$ the last time it hit 1000$ and then started to stabilize at 700-800$

Since the last high was around 1000 dollars a coin
I can see it trading in the 1337 range for a while
Something to look forward to in the future.
8163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: June 02, 2014, 03:01:06 AM

That's kind of neat since it is on businessinsider
Scottish company
Also it reminds me of Cern research into the Web.

Kind of worried in September about Supply but it will be interesting to see the beta running
8164  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 02, 2014, 02:41:07 AM
The level of troll in this thread is too damn high.  Not that I want an eco chamber, but would anyone be for moving more thoughtful conversation and speculation elsewhere?  To where, I do not know... but it seems Goat's signature is more then accurate.

How about the completely sane speculation thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=235763.new#new

You know things are weird when the speculation thread is the normal thread and the main thread is the one that is going bonkers Tongue
8165  Economy / Securities / Re: [ASICMINER] lawsuit on: June 02, 2014, 12:28:19 AM
This thread makes no sense
Abandon lawsuit the company more than delivered to its IPO investors
The newer investors take a risk
8166  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it my imagination or does Bitcoin tend to gravitate towards $666 on: June 02, 2014, 12:25:56 AM
I think it's your imagination but maybe its because that number has a significant meaning to you and stands out more often in this thread
Kind of a number bias
8167  Other / Off-topic / Re: which dish you like to cook for yourself ? on: June 02, 2014, 12:21:44 AM

8170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Want to test the Bitcoin education scholarship donation system? on: June 01, 2014, 03:24:35 AM

Hi everyone. The first announcement related to the Bitcoin scholarship is supposed to go out today. I haven't seen it yet, but when I do I will pass it along!  Barbara

This looks like an interesting project and its nice to see these type of projects ongoing
Thanks for overkilling your references it helps to avoid the scams here and prove a project is real.
Anyways sent a PM if you need testers still

Thank you, and also to everyone who has offered to test. I just replied to your private message with the link to test the scholarship donation system with 0.0002 BTC (which we will refund, of course, if you'd like it back).

Received your PM and sent a reply back
Gave it a try good way to experiment with the system anyways tell me if it worked fine
Cheers
8171  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you know if bitcoin has an intrinsic value and where it comes from? on: May 31, 2014, 11:59:59 PM
Its intrinsic value is from users the greater the user base the stronger the fundamentals of the system
That said their is a good article on the Bitcoin wiki about this
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Myths#Bitcoins_have_no_intrinsic_value_.28unlike_some_other_things.29

He-he now to go watch the video Smiley
8172  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Events that changed the world... on: May 31, 2014, 11:51:28 PM
What do you think were the most significant events of the 19th, 20th or 21st century? Wars, Revolutions, Political Ideology, Technological innovations? What events do you think truly changed the world?

19th Century The Lightbulb
20th The Internet (End Result that stemed from many innovations) or The Green Revolution in Agriculture
21st Bitcoin (Although its early in the century)
8173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stay at day job (work or school) if suddenly filthy rich from Bitcoin? on: May 31, 2014, 11:46:32 PM
If you were at work, and suddenly something HUGE happens that hits every news station that has the general public taking flight to Crypto, the price just explodes into the stratosphere whereas your current stash of Bitcoins can last you a lifetime of comfortable living.

Would you continue working?  Get a different job?  Just stop working altogether?

For those in school, being a student is your day job.

Well I think working and then moving the money to Bitcoin would be the most logical option
Since you are able to increase your income and if your just buying Bitcoin it makes sense to keep working
While taking your check and buying Bits.

8175  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC being pumped at the expense of other coins? on: May 31, 2014, 11:10:19 PM
Well I think that if people want to get into altcoins they need to get Bitcoins first since exchanges and merchant services are available for Bitcoin but not often for other alt-coins unless you mine them yourself.
If anything it isn't shocking that the price is dropping in altcoins and the price of Bitcoin is rising at this time.
8176  Other / New forum software / Re: Grammar Nazi option on: May 31, 2014, 11:03:21 PM
This is a peculiar request, personally I have never seen a transcribe option on any forum that said this is a new forum software and I have had times when it has been difficult to figure out what someone is pointing out.
I think it might be a good idea and a unique feature that this forum can boast about.
Also as B!z pointed out it the collaboration feature would be handy to have around perhaps even the Devs could see a utility for it.
8177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help us decide video about which bitcoin myth we should do next! Please. on: May 31, 2014, 10:55:00 PM
Well you guys could try more technical things like second level protocols for dummies or sidechains for dummies
Break it down so people are able to understand what they are and clear any misconceptions before they arise
Talk about Ethererum, Mastercoin, Maidcoin, Sidechains Blockchain compression etc.

8179  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is cheese added to absolutely EVERYTHING in America? on: May 31, 2014, 10:42:42 PM
Cheese tastes awesome with everything.

It may be unhealthy , anything but natural , but who cares when you are in 'murica ?

Quote
Actually... somehow some american restaurant here start their new menu... Fries with cheese...  Grin

They have something they call "pizza fries" which is cheese (pure fat) , pepperoni (which is anything but pepperoni and actually pure fat) on fries (which have more oil than potato)

You made me want to google these fries pure cheese pepperoni and oily fries together it looks delicious and at the same time
OH my gutline

I take back my previous statement the answer is most things go well with cheese
