I agree, the problem now is fiat transfers to exchanges and whether the exchanges can cope: BTCe has a dubious record; Gox is a nightmare all round; Stamp has failed this week; no volume on Coinmkt. The list goes on - its the fiat interface that hampers crypto adoption.
Indeed. I'm trying to get money into bitcoin RIGHT NOW, and I just can't do it. And that's with me having a verified account at Gox and Coinbase. No coins, or 7-10 day international wire transfer? Hmmm. Well this blows. I will sell a few btc if you can wire me in the usa. Im not selling discounted but you can get them fast. fast coins better than cheap coins...amirite? |

so the 6 (or you say 7) tps is a theoretical limit without a hard fork to increase blocksize and we aren't there yet

My "most-awesome" reward of today goes to Warner, for implying bitcoin could become the world reserve currency  . for a while there they were more like "as" not "if" electrifying stuff Wtf, only "can" and "if"? Give me a call when he says: "will" and "when". I distinctly remember a couple of them saying basically "as this becomes more prevalent" not directly in the context of becoming the reserve currency. |

somebody correct me if I'm wrong, as I understand it there are 6 transactions/second make the blockchain, the miners will, of course, prioritize inclusion of paying traffic and a backlog of moocher transactions develops. Occasionally there is a lull in transaction activity and some moochers make it into the chain
