I think offchain transaction aggregators will spring up to solve the blocksize issue and deal with small transactions

for buying houses/cars/boats, yeah, you pay your fee and go directly on the chain

I agree, the problem now is fiat transfers to exchanges and whether the exchanges can cope: BTCe has a dubious record; Gox is a nightmare all round; Stamp has failed this week; no volume on Coinmkt.  The list goes on - its the fiat interface that hampers crypto adoption.

Indeed. I'm trying to get money into bitcoin RIGHT NOW, and I just can't do it. And that's with me having a verified account at Gox and Coinbase. No coins, or 7-10 day international wire transfer? Hmmm. Well this blows.

I will sell a few btc if you can wire me in the usa.

Im not selling discounted but you can get them fast.

fast coins better than cheap coins...amirite?

3) Schumer sounded like she was on the Bitcoin payroll today not nearly as confident and prepared as yesterday. All in all she was the highlight of the hearing.

yeah, I saw where he and eleuthria were kind of arguing over that, BTCGuild is NOT filtering at this time
8167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: thing that will kill bitcoin on: November 20, 2013, 12:30:08 AM
yeah, lighten up, he just screwed up

I doubt your coins are gone OP, but it might take a while to clear up, hopefully someone can clarify that

What pool you with Adrian-X ?
at the time it was BTCguild I'm not mining at the moment.

I would be very interested to learn the particulars of eleuthria's political naivete.  He has been quite good on network decentralization issues I feel.

Thanks for the clarification D&T

so the 6 (or you say 7) tps is a theoretical limit without a hard fork to increase blocksize and we aren't there yet

My "most-awesome" reward of today goes to Warner, for implying bitcoin could become the world reserve currency  Grin .

for a while there they were more like "as" not "if"

electrifying stuff

Wtf, only "can" and "if"?

Give me a call when he says: "will" and "when".

I distinctly remember a couple of them saying basically "as this becomes more prevalent"  not directly in the context of becoming the reserve currency.
8175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: thing that will kill bitcoin on: November 19, 2013, 11:47:59 PM
somebody correct me if I'm wrong, as I understand it there are 6 transactions/second make the blockchain, the miners will, of course, prioritize inclusion of paying traffic and a backlog of moocher transactions develops.  Occasionally there is a lull in transaction activity and some moochers make it into the chain
8176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: thing that will kill bitcoin on: November 19, 2013, 11:40:50 PM
pay fee or don't get mined...simple as that
