But, hey, Bitcoinorama claims he's all about ethics. I'm sure he'd understand your dilemma and get you a refund, right?

What about your ethics of trying to make KNCMiner investors feel bad about their investment?

Oh,  so I'm the first one around here to be doing that? These are rough parts around here in case you hadn't noticed. I sure did back when I endorsed HF.

Seems people can dish it out but can't take it back.

Yeah where is that idiot Bitcoinorama when you need him?

Imo, this is a multi - pronged problem. Not only was the packaging inadequate but more importantly we have a design problem. going from 8 to 4 VRM was a mistake.  Double the phases means half the current, means smoother power, means more stability for over clocking, means less heat, means less blowing up.  I doubt it's just firmware.

@Cypherdoc

Why are you, a HashFast representative, in a competitors thread criticizing?   I'm not saying there isn't criticism due, but this kind of stuff really makes HashFast look bad.  You might want to think about that some...

I'm not a HF rep.

What I'm doing is no different than what you were doing criticizing in my thread.

Clearly they are having the same performance issues in the hosting center you all are having at home.

Deer frozen.
8184  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitcoinorama: Shill for KNC? Hardware is too full of sock puppets on: October 11, 2013, 08:22:54 AM
Yes he is a shill.

So what's he gonna do about this mess?
8185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 11, 2013, 08:18:19 AM
If KNCMiner doesn't ship both of my Jupiter units by the end of next week or refund any money, then I might kill myself for financial reasons.

Well, certainly don't do that.  It's just money after all, right?  Tongue

But, hey, Bitcoinorama claims he's all about ethics. I'm sure he'd understand your dilemma and get you a refund, right?

Being the businessmen that they are, with Bitcoinorama yapping at their tails, I can assure you they will make all of you assume all the losses.

Any company that is in the position that KNC finds itself is like a deer caught in your headlights.

They don't know what to do because the floor has just fallen out from underneath  them and now they will be just fighting to survive.

You'll be lucky to get any units by the end of October.
8189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 11, 2013, 06:49:14 AM
Did i invest in the wrong company? Hashfast babyjet will likely ship on the 30th of this month instead of the reported 20th because that is what they originally told me in an email before they updated their dates; however, for $7,100, about the price of a Jupiter, I could have gotten 400 gh/s overclocked to 540 gh/s + an upgrade kit, of $1,500, for 540 more overclocked gh/s. So, that means I would have had 1,080 th/s at the start of November. WTF. This totally sucks, my ROI would have been a lot higher, especially since kncminer has my ~2000 order , June 11th, "in progress" since Saturday or Sunday morning, and my ~2100 order, June 13th, just "paid." The only way I am making a comparative ROI is if KNCMINER delivers soon. DAMN.

COME ON KNCMINER, YOU ARE ABOUT TO LOSE IT

Don't forget the MPP which will multiply your hashing power by 5x after 3 months if you're not getting the full ROI.  Beat that.

Not to mention a much more efficient chip, ie, lower power consumption.

11th of Oct 2013. Day 1/early preorder/early paid order with hosting here. Still no login/details/access to pool.

also please note that the whole lot of Cointerra threads (4 at last count) have disappeared from the front page of the Custom Hardware section.

they haven't posted a thing in 2 wks.  i think something is wrong.
8192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 11, 2013, 05:20:35 AM
@sbfree -- I feel your pain, this is total fucking bullshit the way this is going down. They "start shipping" on October 1, and 9 days later, they're not through the first two days of orders, miners are showing up in pieces, catching in fire, hashrates well below what was advertised, hosting in shambles. This is a fucking logistical trainwreck no matter how "fucking smart" these Swedes are according to Bitcoinorama. So much for being a beacon for the Bitcoin mining community. The best I can hope to do is to pass this butthurt on to some unsuspecting noob on eBay. This sucks ass!!!!!!!

no, it was totally expected from a couple of business guys who don't know jack about engineering an asic but instead just emphasize getting a product out "on time" while taking unlimited orders in any form of payment they could get their hands on.

this is why i went with HF who has an engineering team within the company on the front end while working with a top notch physical design team in the same office on the back end in Uniquify.  i strongly doubt HF will have the same level of problems that KNC is so aptly demonstrating.

if i'm wrong, i'll gladly eat my words but i highly doubt it from what i know from the inside.
8193  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 11, 2013, 04:56:16 AM
only after i get my Order #1, Batch #1 though.  Wink

what day will that be?

no one knows exactly for sure but i'm still hoping for last week October.
8194  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 11, 2013, 04:08:35 AM
it'll come preinstalled with cgminer which ckolivas has already seen and will be working on.

I think this gets overlooked a lot.  Having an experienced mining software developer woking on product software before launch has not been usual way around here.  It's a very nice change and I'm looking forward to the results. +1 to hashfast for being proactive on this.

to be even clearer, ckolivas is slated to get one of the first BJ's to actively work on and update.  only after i get my Order #1, Batch #1 though.  Wink
8195  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 11, 2013, 03:52:03 AM

Now I am pretty confused...

1.  Will I be able to use cgminer or bfgminer with a BJ ?
2.  will there be a start mining for dummies included when I receive my units.?

OR

do I have to compile a miner on a rpi?

help!

none of that seems like fun to me.
8197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 11, 2013, 03:40:30 AM
I'm thinking of buying 2x 140mm fans and just put them with cables ties on the outside of the case at the rear (exhaust side), so they can help a little bit with removing the hot air.

The pre-installed fans at the front of the case are intake fans?!  Are you sure?  That would be very poor design if true.  I assumed they were exhaust fans.

But yes, I think it's an excellent idea to install fans on both ends of the case in a push-pull configuration.

Yes, intake. I think it is better that they are intake as there are no other fans to supply fresh air into the case. Adding a second set on the other end to exhaust will probably improve the airflow and the temps:

Thanks for clarifying that!

Well, no wonder these things are overheating and bursting into flames!  Lol.  How could someone design this simple case and NOT include exhaust fans.  With all of those heatsink fans blowing air around and causing turbulence, I can't imagine the case is adequately exchanging air.

bwahaha!

water cooling anyone?

Well those are standard heatsinks made to fit AMD and Intel CPUs.  I don't see why you couldn't slap 4 Corsair H80s in there to replace the existing heatsinks.

On sale at Newegg for $79!  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181031

it's really too bad you guys are having to go thru all this trial and error to make up for what KNC should've taken care of.

in HF's case, they hired the water cooling company itself to do heat simulations using all the Babyjet parts except for the actual chip itself.  they used a heating element to put out 250 W of nominal heat production to make sure the cooler could handle that first.  then they took the wattage up to 350 W of heat to make sure the cooler could handle that amount at what is meant to be an overclocked situation.  no problems according to the results from the water cooling company.  they may have even taken it higher but don't quote me on that.  i won't bother to tell you what hashing rate that took the chip up to b/c HF doesn't want to overpromise but it would knock your socks off.

hmm water cooling...  Shocked  Cool I think i am going to do that.

or, you can just buy a HashFast.
