823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it advisable to invest in cryptocurrencies under 1 $(dollar) on: September 05, 2017, 01:21:11 PM
i've been wondering if its realistic to invest in altcoins under one usd.what does the future hold for altcoins like nem, omisego, ripple, dogecoin etc

Well the price per coin isn't relevant since it's just the number of slices a pizza has.  Ripple for example is only 22-cents a coin but is the 4th largest market cap.  The question to ask is whether or not the coin's market cap will increase.  As for the coins you listed, I think Ripple and Omisego have a future.  I'd stay away from Dogecoin for long term investing... and Nem will require a lot of constitution because it's going to be a very chaotic few weeks due to China's ban on ICO's.

What do you mean by "Nem will require a lot of constitution because it's going to be a very chaotic few weeks due to China's ban on ICO's."?
824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Omisego VS. TENX on: September 05, 2017, 01:05:07 PM
Tenx VS. Omisego
Similarities:
Both are:
  • allowing to bring altcoins to be used in the real world, providing direct intrinsic value trade striving to become exchanges using mobile device with their own debit cards/prepaid cards ERC 20 tokens with similar technologies where token holders are rewarded depending on the amount of transactions made in the debit cards.
  • Both has a growing and great supporting community. fairly new technology so therefore hard to guarantee on the security and flaws.
Like I said I am still skeptical about ETH platform ever since the DAO hack and remember guys, DAO was an ERC20 token and was a successful exchange based in JAPAN. It only takes one bug/hack to happen to tipple everything.

Differences:

  • Tenx aims on individual cliental with product ready debit card and payment system using a 3rd party while Omisego aims for institutional level; coorporations, and central banks where they will set up payment system mainly through their phone and blockchain wallet.
  • Tenx is in process of working their long-term project Comit network where it directly links individual blockchains to trade crypto to fiat and vice versa directly removing any third parties. In short, it will allow exchanges between currencies between blockchains instead of trading within the blockchain itself. Omisego on the other hand will act as the main exchange and will therefore be exchanging within the Omisego blockchain and Omise platform.
  • Their payment system, Omise, is already in existence but their Omisego wallet is still in the works to be attached to Omise platform. In a sense, you can say that Tenx has a working product but not so ready platform which is the Comit network while Omisego does not have a working product yet which is the Omisego wallet but already has a payment system and almost ready blockchain.
  • Tenx has stronger PR with frequent Q&A and promoting their product on social media like youtube, FB and etc. Omisego has yet to release its product but however their strength comes in the form of adoption of Corporations, institutions and central banks using their product. So far Macdonalds in Thailand are going to be working with Omisego with a huge PR by the end of the month I heard. Also recently, Vatalik and Omisego are already in talks with Central bank of Thailand.
  • Tenx has a team of 20 is still growing and hiring some more. Company started in 2015 and still needs time to grow. Omise Ltd. has been around since 2013 with a large team branching from Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia. They are still growing quickly. So, in summary they are both great projects with strong fundamentals. But to say that both are directly competing each other on the market is not really the case since the market is too big and will always have room for both (or several more of them).
  • Both will have their own uses, pros, and cons in the market. Omisego may be revolutionizing in terms of institutions, corporations, and central banks but their challenge will be tough when it comes to competing for space in other countries like the US. This is where Tenx will be more useful since their aim or cliental is everyday people like us. The greater the popularity grows through userbase and product adoption the more likely it will be successful. In short, both have their own strategic ways of taking over the market.

Will it be the top down approach where the government and big corporation adopts the platform system of Omisego and later distributed to users like us or the bottom up approach where the popularity of userbase grows to the point where big corporations and institutions must adopt it? No matter what the approach is, the product must have these key features to be successful and boom in this market place:

Secure, anonymous, scalable, and trackable User-friendliness to the point where your grandma or grandpa can use it. Efficient and fast with real time exchange Low fees or none Uncontrollable and must be decentralized from government control. So, in the end both projects look very solid and looks very promising. However, future challenges are still ahead with many variables. Both projects have still a long way to be able to succeed truly and have a firm place in the market.

Please feel free to correct any information, if i have made any mistakes. We are all learning in this cryptoworld.
Do invest wisely and this is not investment advise.
825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any ICO worth investing ? on: September 05, 2017, 11:27:42 AM
CARTAXI IS ONE OF THE FEW EXISTING BUSINESSES EMERGING ON ICO

Since CarTaxi is an existing business that is dynamically expanding into new markets and CarTaxi’s aim is to offer investors the most attractive conditions for investing in its growth, the company’s tokens, CTX, are a combined type. In addition to dividends paid out on them from company profits, CTX tokens will also be redeemed on the cryptocurrency exchange market using those profits.
The rate of return for the investors includes 2 parts:
1. Income in the form of dividends.
2. Income from the growth of the market value of the token. In this model, company profits will be distributed thus: 1.25% of company income goes towards dividend distribution. Distributions are accrued once a month. First distribution will be on 15 th of September 2017 for tokenholders, who
purchased their tokens before said date (deadline is 15 September UTC +0 00-00). Transfer to tokenholders wallets will be made during the week after accrual. 2.25% of profit goes to buying up tokens on the market with the aim of increasing their market value. Should there be a shortage of tokens on the market, the unspent profits will be considered additional profit and dividends increased accordingly.

826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Effects of ICO ban in China on: September 05, 2017, 11:02:49 AM
Eventhough i am a newbie in Bitcointalk,  i've been following Bitcoin news for long and I remember in dec 2013 China’s biggest Bitcoin exchange, BTCChina, stopped accepting deposits in Chinese yuan because BTC was banned. Due to this BTC dropped about 50% in value. Now see where BTC is today. Hopely one day the Chinese government will change their mind.  Grin

827  Other / Off-topic / First ever trillionaire? on: September 03, 2017, 06:51:59 PM
I saw a post mentioning how much Bitcoin could go up to. Obviously that’s all just speculation and you have to take it with a pinch of salt.
But, suppose Crypto really did take off as big as we all hope it will do on day. Does this mean that Satoshi could be the worlds first Trillionaire?

Keep going bro!
Crypto is best thing you should invest now
Dont care about amount. You should care how much profit you gain!

Thanks for you tips.

In my opinion, if you're in it for the profits, just go with what gives you bigger profit percentage increase. If you're doing fine with the alts, then why change your strategy? What I would suggest is to probably do it 50-50 though. Every week, go $50 on bitcoin and the another $50 on some alts that you believe has value in the future. Why invest straight in to BTC if you can reach the 1 BTC goal faster by investing in alts?

Thanks for your thoughts, I will do the 50-50.

Hey guys
So currently iv started playing with crypto about a month ago, and can afford to put around $100 a week into it. Iv made some investments into OMG, NEO, PAY, IOTA, ETC and XRP.

My question is, should i still be working my way to gaining 1 BTC first before anything? Price is so high right now and i have no idea how its possible when i can invest so little, hence why im just playing with the alt coins for now.

Any tips on what i should change? or what i should keep doing??

Thanks in advance
