Lewandowski is still quite useful for Barcelona. So far his statistics are like 7 goals and 3 assists in 11 games in the La Liga. I think this is quite good when we think he is 35 years old now. The main problem with him is inconsistency now. Because they haven't been scoring for 6 games in a row including the Champions League games as well until the Alaves one.
He put a really good end to that bad streak by scoring 2 goals there. However his contribution will be more valuable in bigger games. Especially in the Champions League he is needed quite much.
I don't think, Lewandowskii is the caused of Barcelona inconsistency winning in some matches now because if their midfield can be effective like the way they was effective last season, I believe Lewandowskii and other strikers will have more opportunities to score goals in every match, but since they started experiencing some challenges in the midfield, make their strikers to reduced the way they use to score goals. If Lewandowskii and other strikers can helped Barcelona to embraced last year title with consistent winning to top the la Liga league table through the help of Lewandowskii that scored the highest goals in Barcelona to achieved double award from the season. If Barcelona manager can work on their midfield, I believe their strikers will begin to correct the errors by returning back to their consistent scoring of goals in their remaining matches. |
