821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Ever Bitcoin Bank to be Opened in Switzerland? on: June 18, 2015, 06:06:21 PM
there isnt a need to control the wallet just need the adress to get the interest paid montly on it ,in this case they would create the wallet us just will be able to see balance ,,,soo the bank couldnt lend our btc to others without we know soo not worthy for a bank... get deposits and offer interest without being able to lend those same money between users lol

But as a Bitcoin user do we really need a bank? This is very logical question and I believe that majority of us would say a BIG NO that we don't need any bitcoin bank to keep our bitcoins safe as it is already safe and we are taking great care of its security as we take of our wife and our child lol  Grin
I agree with your first point. As long as we know how to keep our coins safe, whatever the way you store it, there is no need for these 'banks'. They may charge larger fees for simple tasks, such as withdrawing, because how else would they survive? They'll need to make profit.

But anyways, looks like Bitcoin getting even more popular, and will grab even more people's attention, which is a good thing.

Yes and bank runs on the various charges they charge from their customers. Charges are basically the profits of the bank. If they don't charge they would need to shut down their bank. So why should we pay unwanted charges to bank if we are getting everything for least charges.
822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would You Ever Take Out a Loan in Bitcoin? on: June 18, 2015, 06:02:16 PM
I've taken a couple of loans on the forums, mostly due to the fact that I needed BTC quickly, and my only option of converting from fiat to bitcoin is using a wire transfer to the exchange, which usually takes days. It's easy to get a loan as long as you have reasonable collateral. Without collateral, I would say you shouldn't bother.

What user did you use to get the BTC loan? I would like to take one. Is there a list of trusted people in which you can trust to act as escrows for loans? last thing I want is gambling with this.. i'd rather go to da dice if I wanted to gamble.

Let me know too. I would go for a loan only and only If I can trust him. As it is very difficult here to find a trusted person who can guarantee you that your coins will be safe in the future. And if he ensures then would definitely take a loan from bitcoins.
823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: June 18, 2015, 05:55:59 PM
I use Bitcoin for a few main reasons. One main reason is for online purchases. In my opinion, Bitcoin is way easier and convenient to use for making online purchases. I prefer Bitcoin over Paypal. I also use Bitcoin as a hobby and for speculation.

Online purchases by using bitcoins is a great option. But still very few websites accepts bitcoins as a mode of payment when it comes to online shopping. But very soon majority of the websites would start accepting bitcoins as a mode of payment.
824  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin and Porn on: June 18, 2015, 05:53:17 PM
Why do people need to pay for porn in this day & age. It's 2015 not the mid 90's or early 00's. All you have to do is search on google for free porn. Unless people want some sort of specific porn that has to be paid for, I don't know, I'm not exactly an expert.

In my opinion not many people are going to pay for something you can get free online. Some escort agencies (hookers) accept bitcoin now though, now that kind of service you can't get for free so people will be willing to pay for that, the anonymity would be perfect.

Yeah many websites available on google that have millions of porn videos and why should we pay our bitcoins to some stupid websites if we are getting it totally for free. And I am not addicted to porn websites so I would prefer to invest my bitcoins into some valuable projects rather then spending on porn.
825  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do girls use Bitcoin ? on: June 18, 2015, 05:49:29 PM
Yes girls too use bitcoin .. if u visit service board you can find lots of post about girls offering services for bitcoin

Yes and more and more girls should start using bitcoins it can lead to increase the demand for the bitcoins but as per my knowledge they prefer credit card over the bitcoin as they are used to credit card and spend heard earned money of their husbands  Angry
826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, the Religion?! on: June 18, 2015, 05:46:25 PM
I think it's not. Bitcoin is being created by human and everything can be proven + being calculated.
Religion is something based in trust. Can't be proven even with human calculation.

Exactly Even I believe it is not the Religion. It is just a currency and we need to be more practical before making investment in bitcoins and should be ready for any consequences that it has to offer in future and may be it is profit or losses.
827  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is Bitcoin Legal? on: June 18, 2015, 05:43:28 PM
Bitcoin in my knowledge is legal in most of the countries, but I do know in some small countries, they forbid bitcoin because people are using scams and pyramid schemes to promote the users of btc. They're breaking the laws of that country, so that is why in some countries its forbidden.

Yes and the reason some of the countries are not promoting bitcoin is only because people are using it for illegal activities like black money, money laundering etc. So the government is not coming in the support of bitcoins but nobody has control over it.

832  Economy / Economics / Re: What awaits Bitcoin in the future? (poll) on: June 17, 2015, 12:44:24 AM
If there is nobody to turn to in case of theft or fraud, people will be extra careful about their bitcoins. Average Joe will know that he has to be absolutely sure of security aspects before entering Bitcoin. That is a good thing.  Smiley

Give it some more thought; many people assume that they have someone to turn to in such cases of abuse, only to find the fact that there isn't anyone who can help them.
People are entering bitcoin world without knowing all facts, and when they loose funds for either reason - they feel betrayed, played, hustled. Those people turn their back and don't return, and we don't want that.

cheers

Very rightly said or else it would affect the bitcoin community. And once they have a negative impression about the bitcoin they would spread the same news to their peers or their friends and family that it is not worth to invest in bitcoin as he has gone through losses he will suggest them not to invest in bitcoins as we all know that mouth publicity is the biggest publicity  Huh
833  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: June 17, 2015, 12:39:40 AM
i doubt bitcoin price will keep failing there is a support that stands on 200 dollars mark soo buying them now would mean they have potencial to go up on the next years

Buying it right now is the only good option as the prices are falling down so it is a great news for the new entrants who wants to invest in the bitcoin and we wish that prices should go up in the next years but you cannot be sure that it would become true as market is volatile and so is the bitcoin.
834  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: June 17, 2015, 12:34:59 AM
I have never calculated because I claim just for the fun and when I have time to kill.

and you never withdraw your bitcoin to bank ?

I dont believe you that you have never calculated that how much bitcoins you are earning weekly. And if you really have not calculated then I think you need a good treatment and a advice from a good doctor and also need to ensure that you are in good state of mind  Grin Grin

he is richman not need more monyey again

Hehehe.. I Wish I could be as rich as him  Cheesy

But honestly you can make any amount that you wish to make it weekly. It totally depends upon your skill and your knowledge of Bitcoins. Like IT guy can make much more than a Non IT guy as he is much more aware about the technical know-how and can find various ways to earn bitcoins.
835  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Bitcoin still a slave of Fiat? on: June 17, 2015, 12:31:24 AM

We need more adopter to bring bitcoin to more mainstream.

Its not about more adopter to be honest, in the end most of use who use and accept BTC will still cash it out into FIAT, therefore BTC will still be a slave of FIAT. Another thing would be that, you can buy mostly everything with FIAT but you cant buy mostly everything with BTC (which ofcourse another reason on why BTC is a slave of FIAT)

Logically that's right. Maybe bitcoin is decentralization? And digital currency?

And the other reason is that there are many alternatives available for bitcoin as a currency or a payment system like fiat, credit card etc. And fiat has ruled the world since so many years so people follow fiat more.

You need fiat to buy bitcoin and you don't need bitcoin to buy a fiat. It is as simple as that. And I don't see in coming years that bitcoin will replace fiat. It is simply to impossible.

Fiat is a traditional currency and every one follows the same since years and it is more trustworthy as compared to bitcoins. Whereas Bitcoins are new to many people and would not attract instantly until they start to know it technically.
836  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: June 17, 2015, 12:28:28 AM
I would have to say gold hands down.

Gold has dropped, since the 70s... but, haha BTC went from less then a dollar to 1200 to 600 to 200 in only a matter of less then 5 years.

Gold will always have a upper hand when we talk about the investment. Gold has been traditional no doubt the prices has gone down in the recent past but still we believe that Gold will overtake all the threats that it is facing from new entrants and would glitter as it used to be in the past.
837  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a Retirement Account on: June 17, 2015, 12:25:07 AM
I don't think its an good idea to have an bitcoin as a retirement account as the future of bitcoin is still blank. We don't know whether it will replace fiat or not but i would prefer to invest in some pension plans which would pay me assured amount of money monthly rather then going for bitcoin retirement account.

Pension plans are not good enough I guess. They don't pay a high rate of returns and you also have to pay the premium monthly or yearly depending upon the plan but If you hold good amount of bitcoin then it can proved to be a good investment option at the retiring age and you can sell bitcoins anytime you wish its not compulsory that you have to wait till you get retired  Wink
838  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: June 17, 2015, 12:21:32 AM
It cant be dead till people will hope in some worth of bitcoins. It is same like with "real" money now, you must hope that you can buy sometihng for them. So till there will be people with BTC shops, bitcoin will run probably. And these people you can see more day by day.

Yes if the adoption level goes high then there are chances that it will survive for a longer period of time but the basic thing is people should show their interest and willingness to accept the bitcoin as a mode of payment and the merchants should also start accepting bitcoin as a mode of payment.

The problem is where are you going to find a huge surge of adoption, it needs to come from a existing source.

This is just my view, but like amazon or someone telling them about bitcoin doesnt help. Unless they say save 30-40% on your purchase with bitcoin etc driving people to go buy bitcoin.

And all the website should also display on their payment section that we accept bitcoins as a mode of payment. That will have a great impact on the customers who are not aware about the bitcoins once they see this information on their website it will make them more curious to know what is bitcoin and how it works
839  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: June 17, 2015, 12:19:02 AM
Lets say I want to buy bitcoins today and store them for 20 years to use a my retirement fund.  Live comfortably, but don't need to buy a yacht or anything.  How many do you think I would need to buy?

3 bitcoins is a good deal. Have 1 for emergencies, 1 for luxuries and 1 for financial security.

3 Bitcoins would never serve the purpose it is too low to hold that amount of bitcoins. I suggest to have atleast 50 Bitcoins for the future and one more thing the 20 years span time is too long you cannot wait for such a long time I think holding it for 5 to 10 years would be good and sell it at the best time.
840  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: June 17, 2015, 12:13:16 AM
You save money by earning more.
Thats opposite then most views, but heres why. Theres a certain extent you can only save so much, clip coupons, order from the dollar menu, living a horrible frugal life style.
When you could be increasing cashflow by being creative.. and still be frugal.

I just assumed that everyone is already doing whatever they can to earn more, so it didn't make much sense to talk about it.
And when it comes to savings, i always prefer methods that doesn't compromise lifestyle too much, but still offer certain amount of savings to be made.

cheers

And I also believe that you can go for some extra job like part time which would add value to your wallet financially and basic day to day expenses can be taken care of by your extra earnings which would make your salary safe and could be useful at the time of emergencies or in the future.
